2 Emerge BMS K Battery Management System Switching the BMS output (combined charge / discharge terminal) on and off To activate the combined charge / discharge terminal the BMS there are several configurable ways to use the BMS Press the push button (long press) Mode 0 BMS output can be toggled with a push button long press. Any error event during discharge disables the output until the push button is pressed again Press the push button (long press) with automatic output voltage recovery Mode BMS output can be toggled with a push button long press. The output voltage recovers a few seconds after each error event Connect push botton to GND Mode Use a keyswitch or similar, to activate the BMS output. Connect a charger BMS detects the charger and starts charging automatically To enter the deepsleep Press the push button (long press) CANBus remote control BMS output voltage can be controlled via CANBus. BMS can be requested to activate ore deactivate the output voltage or to enter the deepsleep mode. Push button or chargerdetection is required to leave deep sleep. (no wake on CAN) LED indications Push button short press During charging On Error event On entering deepsleep SOC is displayed for a few seconds LED stairs up to the current SOC, then holds SOC indication for a few seconds. 3 Emerge BMS K Battery Management System USBInterface Intended Usecase The enabletool is intended to support our customers internal development, allowing the BMS to be analyzed, measured and calibrated in realtime. For aftersales purposes, the HMI can be customized and reduced to a minimum level of complexity to allow a quick and easy support. Used to update the BMS software Supported OS Windows / Windows Parameters to be displayed The list of visible parameters can be defined, to match the required level of complexity (e.g. developers can see all internal parameters, aftersales/support is only allowed to see DTCs/errorcodes). 5 Emerge BMS K Battery Management System CANBus Interface The CANbus interface is compliant with any standard automotive CANbus. The baudrate can be configured to from lowspeed (kbit/s) to highspeed (000kbit/s). Messages are transmitted periodically (no remote request necessary). This is an overview on the standard CANprotocoll which is implemented by default. You can get a CAN matrix in Vector Informatik s standard fileformar (*.dbc) on request.
