Clear Channel Radio is the first broadcaster to launch a ground-breaking programming and technology service delivering real-time traffic data directly to vehicles, using its own network of reporters, traffic cameras, aircraft, broadcast towers, and strategic partners to verify and produce traffic information Total Traffic Network. 9 How Do We Determine Data Quality? Accurate Relative Timely

10 Data Quality Validation BMW, in conjunction with Soft Solutions AG and Clear Channel developed and employed a collection and processing software package called Trace Runner Trace Runner's drivers mode collects latitude, longitude, speed and direction in 2 second intervals as well as accident, construction and other information Testers gather information covering all TMC location points multiple times in both directions during a test Test files (.nmea) are uploaded daily to a storage site for processing and analysis

11 Data Collection Mileage minimums were initially set for every market using Texas Transportation Institute s study of market congestion and have been adjusted annually for higher statistically relevance. Mileage varies from 1,500 to 10,000 miles per market. Multiple test vehicles deployed at all times over multiple days Initial time slots were 6am-9am, 4pm-7pm, 9am-3pm, 7pm-mid and mid-5am Lack of congestion from 7pm-mid and mid-5am provided statistically irrelevant data Current time slots being tested are 5am-9am, 4pm-8pm, 9am-4pm

12 We are interpreting Quality in two ways: Quality Index #1 is the Detection Rate Target value is 100% Describes the degree to which the traffic message coincides with the actual congestion event and is calculated from the ration of the area of the intersection Univision in 13 markets including the #1 Hispanic market in the country! to the area of the congestion event. QFCD1=D/E CCT is a major player we re in more markets than the competition. Also on radio stations in Mexico, New Zealand; now providing content to portable navigation devices in Canada and China! Today, CCT is much more than just Clear Channel Citadel in ten markets! 14 NATWG The North American Traffic Working Group (NATWG) are ITS America members in the traffic and weather industries working collaboratively to define, accept and advocate for the unique needs of North America traffic information services. The NATWG is comprised of content providers, distributors, device manufacturers, mapping industry members, consumer electronics manufacturers and the public sector. NATWG seeks to develop a coordinated, proactive market driven implementation of traffic and travel information services and products by both influencing international standards efforts and coordinating the development of non-competitive commercial agreements.
