2 The Enterprise Group of Jackson, Inc. (EG) is the economic development agency supporting all of Jackson County. The Enterprise Group of Jackson, Inc. and our partner organizations; the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association, the Academy for Manufacturing Careers and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center of South Central Michigan, collaborate to provide a one-stop resource to achieve solutions and coordinate business and manufacturing capabilities to promote prosperity, strengthen the economy, stimulate job creation and support business retention and growth.

4 $206.3 Million 394 New Jobs 5.84% Increase The 2014 local business investment level of $206.3 Million exceeded last year s total, and is the highest investment level since The investment will generate a commitment of an additional 310 new jobs. The 2013 local business investment exceeded $136 Million. The investment represented a commitment for creation of 394 new jobs. EG Staff prepares a monthly Scorecard, which can be found on our home page, near the bottom at Of the 15 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) in Michigan, Jackson s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of a 5.84 percent increase from 2012 to 2013 ranked third in the State, behind Monroe and Niles-Benton Harbor MSAs.

17 How do we improve our ability to compete for investment in the future? Review/update Master Plans and ensure appropriate zoning. There are at a minimum, 16 local units of government with approved or draft Master/Land Use Plans posted on R2PC Jackson County Master Plan Virtual Library. Identify and prioritize development options. Address deficiencies associated with site development. Engage in County-wide discussions to address challenges for short- and longterm site development. Develop creative solutions and partnerships focused on preparing to compete for future growth. TAKE ACTION!
