Introducing the 3000T Series Electronic Faucet Programming Guide Posted: 02/02/2006 As part of our ongoing investment in sales and marketing tools for the commercial healthcare segment, we are pleased to introduce the 3000T Series Electronic Faucet Programming Guide -- a valuable tool for training and assisting installers and maintenance personnel. The Programming Guide walks through the programmable controller functions and features easy-to-follow diagrams and a trouble-shooting guide. This guide is intended as a training tool for the healthcare customer. Several copies are being sent to each agency; only a limited quantity is available in print.
3000T 2 ND GENERATION ELECTRONIC GOOSENECK FAUCET PROGRAMMING GUIDE BEAUTIFULLY ENGINEERED.
DELTA 3000T ELECTRONIC GOOSENECK FAUCET IS AT YOUR COMMAND One single control module is factory preset to be compatible with all Delta Commercial 3000T 2 ND Generation electronic products. EASY TO READ: Large function buttons flash on/off when selected, and are backlit for easy viewing in dim spaces, such as under the counter. SAVED SETTINGS: In the event of a power failure or when changing the batteries, the controller will automatically retain the adjusted program settings. POWER OPTIONS: Hardwire or 4 AA batteries. The battery power is a great option for situations without a power source on site. When the battery is low, a light appears in the sensor indicating 3,000 cycles remaining. TAMPER PROOF SOLENOID VALVE: All electrical connections are made inside the high impact resistant housing. 2
EASY PROGRAMMING WITH FINGERTIP PRECISION LED INDICATOR The LED indicator lights up and displays incremental measurements for each option setting. The middle LED is the factory default for each option setting on all Delta Commercial 3000T 2 ND Generation electronic products. ADJUSTMENT ARROWS When an option button is selected, use the up and down arrows to adjust the LED indicator s settings incrementally. 3
TAKE CONTROL RUN TIME The length of time water will continue to run after the user removes their hands from sensing zone. Default Setting: LED Increments: Minimum Setting: Maximum Setting: 8 seconds Increase in 1 minute increments, decrease in 1 second increments per LED. 0 seconds 8 minutes Suggested Settings: Saves time: In surgeon scrub-up applications adjustment can be up to 8 minutes of water run time. Saves water: Adjustment of 0 to 8 seconds of water run time after hands are removed DEFAULT MINUTES SECONDS NOTE: If faucet is used before the original Run Time expires, it will continue to operate and reset when the hands are removed. Please refer to page 8 (Auto Timer section) for Metering Mode instructions. 4
TAKE CONTROL SENSE TIME Sense Time is the amount of response time it takes for the sensor to react to hands placed in sensing zone. Default Setting: LED Increments: Minimum Setting: Maximum Setting: Hardwire: 8 pulses/second Battery (4 AA): 3 pulses/second 3 settings: 8, 3 and 2 pulses/second 2 pulses/second 8 pulses/second Suggested Settings: Saves time: For nurses station application set to 8 pulses/second for immediate response. Saves energy: Set at 2 pulses/second for energy conservation. NOTE: 8 pulses/second is not recommended for battery operation as it will significantly reduce battery life. Faster reaction time Energy conservation 8 pulses/ second 3 pulses/ second 2 pulses/ second 5
TAKE CONTROL BLOCK TIME The amount of time required between uses. This prevents the faucet from running water excessively. Default Setting: LED Increments: Minimum Setting: Maximum Setting: No block time Moves up and down in 1 second increments No block time 8 seconds SECONDS 0 DEFAULT Suggested Settings: Saves time: Set to 0 for areas demanding an immediate response. Saves water: In public access areas, set to 5 to prevent water run on. Features: It s tamper proof: In public access areas the user cannot overstimulate the sensor and solenoid by waving hand repeatedly. 6
TAKE CONTROL SENSOR RANGE You can set the distance at which the sensor will detect hands in the wash area. Default Setting: 9" from sensor LED Increments: Five settings: Minimum Setting: Maximum Setting: 3" from sensor 12" from sensor Suggested Settings: Different spout lengths: Adjust Sensor Range one increment past the end of the spout to activate water (e.g. 5" spout Sensor Range setting 6"). Long range: Adjust Sensor Range to 12" for full arm surgeon scrub-up. Close range: Adjust to 9" (default) for hand washing at nurses station or general public use. Long range Close range 12" 10" 9" DEFAULT 6" 3" 7
TAKE CONTROL AUTO TIMER The Auto Timer is the length of time the faucet will run continuously before it stops, assuming the sensor has been obstructed by a foreign object. Default Setting: LED Increments: Minimum Setting: Maximum Setting: 1 minute 1 minute increments 1 minute 9 minutes Suggested Settings: Saves time: For scrub stations, set to 9 minutes to accommodate extended scrub times MINUTES 1 DEFAULT Features: Prevents vandalism: For public access areas, set to 1 to prevent water run-on. It s tamper proof: Saves water and helps to prevent the sink from overflowing should a vandal attempt to fool the sensor by placing an object, such as tape, over it. Metering Mode METERING MODE: This option allows for metered flow when combined with Run Time. This allows you to set the amount of time the water will run per use. Minimum is 7 seconds suggested for public access areas. Maximum is 240 seconds (4 minutes) suggested for scrub area when water may be required to run even if hands are not in the sensing zone. Default is 15 seconds. Metered flow is activated once bottom LED is selected in Auto Timer mode. While in metering mode, select Run Time to set the desired metering time. 8
RESPONDING TO YOUR NEEDS In addition to the features of our electronic technology, the 3000T also offers several options to meet the requirements of your unique applications. From surface or recessed mount, to multiple mixing options the 3000T is certain to have the combination you re looking for. Available in many of Delta s heavy-duty gooseneck spout and outlet options Optional cast brass cover plate MODEL 24T3003 SINGLE CONTROL MIXING VALVE FOR USE WITH ELECTRONIC FAUCETS 6" ADA approved elbow handle High temperature limit stop to prevent scalding Robust vandal-resistant installation box is waterproof and easily houses the control module Brass solenoid valve with easy-access filter *Other options available, please refer to for further information 9
TROUBLE SHOOTING 1. My faucet is not responding and the controller will not lightup. Battery Installation: A. The batteries could be expired. Replace the batteries in the controller. B. The controller s batteries may not be installed correctly. To check for correct orientation, use the positive (+) and negative (-) markings inside each cavity. Hardwire Installation: A. You may not have the required voltage. Ensure the controller is connected to a 24 VAC connection. 2. My faucet is not responding yet the lights on the controller are illuminated. A. The aerator could be plugged, remove and clean the aerator. B. The Sensor Range could be too short. Refer to Page 7 for instructions on how to extend the distance. C. There could be no water supply to the faucet. Ensure main water supply is turned on. 3. The water continues to run after hands are removed from the sensing zone. A. The Run Time could be set too long. Refer to Page 4 for instructions on how to shorten the Run Time. B. Metering Mode If Auto Timer function is set to bottom LED, then your faucet is in Metering Mode (set to run for a specific amount of time after sensor has been activated). Refer to Page 8 for instructions on how to adjust Metering Mode. 4. The water shuts off too soon after hands are removed from the sensing zone. A. The Run Time could be set too short. Refer to Page 4 for instructions on how to lengthen the Run Time. B.
