5 Important information 1 Documentation These Installation and Operating Instructions are a basic component of the appliance. They conform to the model type of the appliance and represent the state of technology at the time of manufacture and initial use. DÜRR MEDICAL can accept no responsibility and no liability where the instructions and notes contained within these Installation and Operating Instructions are not observed nor guarantee the safe and proper operation of the appliance. Dürr Dental does not accept any responsibility for errors in translation. 1.1 Warnings and symbols Warnings The warnings in this document are there to point out possible injury to persons or damage to machinery. However, there is always a minimum risk. For this reason, please observe the following notes. 2.1 Correct use The appliance is intended exclusively for the scanning and processing of image data on an image plate in the veterinary field. 1.2 Notes on copyright All switches, processes, names, software and appliances mentioned here are protected under copyright. Reprint of the Installation and Operating Instructions, or parts thereof, is only permitted with the written approval of DÜRR MEDICAL. 2.2 Incorrect use Any use of this appliance above and beyond that specifically described in these instructions will be deemed to be as not according to the intended use. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage resulting from incorrect usage. The user bears all risks. WARNING Risk of explosion due to inflammation of combustible materials Do not use the appliance in rooms in which combustible mixtures may be present, e.g. in operating theatres. The appliance is not suitable for prolonged X-ray diagnostic monitoring of animals. The preview of the x-ray as seen on the touch screen is not suitable for using in diagnosis. 2.3 General safety notes Before using the appliance observe any and all guidelines, laws, regulations and other restrictions which may apply to the appliance. Before each use check the function and condition of the appliance. Do not convert or change the appliance in any way. Observe the Installation and Operating Instructions precisely. Keep the Installation and Operating Instructions in an accessible place so that the operator has instant access to them / V001

7 2.4 Qualified personnel Instructions for use Persons who operate the appliance must, on the basis of their training and knowledge, ensure safe and correct handling of the appliance. Ensure personnel are trained in the correct usage of the appliance. Installation and repair Installation, resetting, alterations, adding of extensions and repairs must be carried out by DÜRR MEDICAL or by person(s) specifically authorised by DÜRR MEDICAL. 2.5 Protection against electrical current When working with the appliance, observe the appropriate electrical safety procedures. Never touch persons (or animals) and open connectors of the appliance simultaneously. Immediately replace any damaged lines and connections. 2.6 Only use original parts Only parts specified by DÜRR MEDICAL or specifically approved accessories and special accessories may be used with this appliance. Only use original working parts and spare parts. DÜRR MEDICAL accepts no liability for damage or injury caused by using accessories, special accessories or parts other than original working parts and spare parts which were not specifically approved by the manufacturer. 2.7 Transport Important information The original packaging provides optimum protection for the appliance during transport. If necessary, the original packaging for the appliance can be ordered at DÜRR MEDICAL. DÜRR MEDICAL accepts no liability for damage caused by the use of inadequate packaging for transport, even if this is during the period of guarantee. Only transport the appliance in its original packaging. Keep the packaging safely out of the reach of children. Do not expose the appliance to any strong shocks. 2.8 Disposal Appliance Dispose of the appliance properly. Within the European Union, the appliance must be disposed of according to EU directive 2002/96/EG (WEEE). If you have any questions concerning the correct disposal of this appliance, please contact DÜRR MEDICAL directly or contact your local trader. Image plate The image plate contains barium compounds. Dispose of the image plate properly in accordance with the locally applicable regulations. 14 Product description 4.3 Model identification plate The model identification plate is located on the rear side of the base foot. 5 Function 5.1 Image plate scanner REF SN Order number Serial number 4.4 Note on Conformity This appliance has been tested according to the relevant directive of the European Union and the required conformity acceptance procedure. The appliance can be operated in two ways: Via the imaging software on a computer, or directly via the touch screen on the appliance / V001

15 The transport mechanism guides the image plate through the appliance. In the scanner unit a laser scans the image plate. The sampled data is converted into a digital image. If the scanning order is stared via the imaging software, the image is automatically transmitted to the computer. If the scanning order is started via the touch screen, the image is stored on the memory card and must be transmitted to the computer later. After scanning, the image plate runs through the erasure unit. Image data still held on the image plate will be erased by intense light. The image plate is then output to be used again. The unit is capable of scanning up to four image plates (depending on the sizes) simultaneously at the same resoution. Operating panels 1 Product description The button Help can be used to open a help page for the relevant page. The button News can be used to call up current events. Connections The connections are on the rear side of the appliance. 2 1 Touch screen 2 On/Off switch The touch screen allows the unit to be operated even when not connected to a PC. Instructions can be entered on the touch screen either with the finger tip or the stylus Reset switch 2 Connection for power unit 3 AUX-connection for diagnostic unit 4 Network connection with status LED Exposure recognition When the exposure recognition is switched on, then the unit will detect whether an image plate is exposed or not on insertion. When an exposed image plate is scanned then an x-ray image will be displayed. When an unexposed image plate is scanned then an empty image plate will be displayed. A preview will not be displayed on the touchscreen. When the exposure recognition is switched off and an unexposed image plate is scanned then the unit will not display anything on the touchscreen or in the software. 16 Product description 5.2 Image plate The image plate stores X-ray energy which is reemitted in the form of light due to excitation with a laser. This light is converted into image information in the image plate scanner. The image plate has an active and an inactive side. Exposure of the image plates must take place on the active side. When used properly, the image plate can be exposed, read and erased several hundred times provided there is no mechanical damage. The image plate must be replaced if there are any signs of damage (e.g. protective layer is damaged or visible scratches) which could interfere with diagnosis. Extraoral 1 2 Intraoral 1 1 Inactive side: Black, printed with size and manufacturer information 2 Active side: Light blue, with positioning aid The positioning aid is visible on the X-ray image and makes orientation easier during diagnosis. 2 1 inactive side black, with manufacturer's information 2 active side white 5.3 Light protection cover The light protection cover provides several protection functions for the intraoral image plate: Protection against sunlight and UV light and hence against unwanted erasure Protection from physical damage Protection from contamination and soiling The light protection cover is a disposable item. 5.4 Flexible image plate cassette The flexible image plate cassette has several protection features for extraoral image plates: Protection against sunlight and UV light, thereby adding protection against premature erasure Protection against mechanical damage The flexible image plate cassette can be used in non-dirty environments / V001

17 Product description 5.5 Rigid image plate cassette Rigid cassettes can be used in conventional x- ray cassette units used in veterinary facilities or similar institutes. Additionally rigid cassettes offer protection against damage. 5.8 Stylus pen for touch screen The stylus can be used with the touch screen as an alternative to using one's finger tips. The rigid image plate cassette has several protection features for intraoral image plates: Protection against sunlight and UV light, thereby adding protection against premature erasure Protection against mechanical damage The rigid image plate cassette can be used in non-dirty environments. 5.6 Foil sleeve 5.9 Bite protector (optional) The bite protector protects the image plate Plus Size 4, additionally to the light protection cover, from severe mechanical damage, e. g. too intense biting pressure during x-ray exposure Light protection cover The foil sleeve has several protection features for extraoral image plates: Protection against sunlight and UV light, thereby adding protection against premature erasure Protection against mechanical damage Protection against contamination and dirt The foil sleeves can be used in wet and dirty environments. 5.7 Rigid cassette The light protection plate reduces the amount of stray light that can enter the unit Additionally the light protection plate hinders the image plate from falling out after scanning is completed / V001 15

18 Mounting Only qualified specialists or personnel trained by DÜRR MEDICAL may install, connect and commission the appliance. 6 Prerequisites 6.1 Area of installation The installation room must fulfil the following requirements: Closed, dry, well-ventilated room No purpose-built room (e. g. boiler room or wet room) Max. illuminance 1000 Lux, no direct sunlight where the appliance is installed No large interference fields (e. g. strong magnetic fields) present which can interfere with the functioning of the appliance. Corresponding ambient conditions"4 Technical data". 6.2 System requirements Please refer to the leaflet on minimum PC system requirements (order number ) or in the internet under Monitor The monitor must comply with the requirements for digital X-ray with higher light intensity and high contrast range (according to 25580). Strong ambient light, direct sunlight and reflections can reduce the diagnostic usefulness of the x-rays. In Germany, an acceptance test in accordance with DIN V can be carried out. In other countries, observe the applicable legal regulations. 7 Installation 7.1 Carrying the appliance NOTICE Damage to sensitive appliance components from shocks Do not expose the appliance to any strong shocks. 19 7.2 Setting up the appliance Portable and mobile HF communication appliances can interfere with the effectiveness of electrical appliances. Do not stack the appliance next to or together with other appliances. If the appliance is to be used stacked next to or used together with other appliances, monitor the appliance in this configuration to ensure normal operation. The unit can be set up on a table. The load-bearing capacity of the table must be suitable for the weight of the appliance (see "4.1 Image plate scanner"). Place the appliance on a table To prevent errors when scanning the image data, install the appliance so it is not exposed to vibrations. Place the appliance on a firm, horizontal surface. 7.4 Applying stylus Mounting The stylus is held on the unit by a magnet. Place the stylus in the recess provided. 7.5 Insert memory card NOTICE Loss of image data due to unexpected insertion or extraction of the memory card Only insert or extract the memory card when unit is switched off. 20 Mounting 7.6 Electrical connection Safety for the electrical connection The appliance may only be connected to a correctly installed socket outlet. Make sure the connection lines to the appliance are not subject to any mechanical tension. Before initial start-up, check the supply voltage with the voltage information on the model identification plate (see also "4. Technical Data"). Connecting the appliance to the power supply The unit has no mains operating switch. For this reason the unit must be so set up that the current socket must be easily accessible and the unit can be unplugged if necessary. Connnect the power unit to the connection socket on the unit. 7.7 Connecting the appliance to a network The unit can be connected via network cable or WLAN to a network. For informationen on connecting via WLAN see "8.1 Installing and configuring the appliance". Safe connection of appliance If appliances are connected with one another or with parts of systems, danger can occur (e.g. due to leakage current). Only connect appliances if there is no danger for operators and the environment. Only connect appliances if the environment is not affected by the coupling. If there is any element of doubt concerning the safety of connected equipment, the safety must be checked and approved by a suitably qualified person (e.g. manufacturer). Only connect additional appliances (e.g. computer, monitor, printer) which at least comply with the IEC ( ) standard. Connecting up the appliance with network cable Connect the network cable provided into the unit's network port. Now connect the power cable to the electric mains socket. The connection cable has a catch system. To undo the unit, slide the housing of the connector towards the back. Do not apply pulling force to the cable / V001

21 8 Operation NOTICE Short circuit due to build up of condensation The appliance can only be put into operation once it has warmed up to room temperature and it is dry. 8.1 Installing and configuring the appliance The unit supports the following imaging programs: Vet-Exam Plus Setting up the network Switch on the network appliances (router, PC, and switch). Check that TCP port 2006 and UDP port 514 are released in the firewall that is used; if not, release them. If you are using the Windows firewall, it is not necessary to check the ports since you are asked if you want to release them during the driver installation process. On connecting to a computer for the first time the unit adapts to the language and the time currently on the computer. Configuring the appliance Configuration is carried out with CRNetConfig which is automatically installed during the installation of Vet-Exam Intra or Plus. Select Start > All Programs > Dürr Medical > CRScan > CRNetConfig. Mounting Click on. The list of connected appliances is updated. Enable the connected appliance in the Registered column. You can also register multiple appliances. You can change the appliance (name), manually enter an IP address and query information in the CRNet appliance configuration window. Click on. Entering a permanent IP address (recommended) Deactivate DHCP. Enter an IP address, subnet mask and gateway. Click Apply. The configuration is saved. To restore the appliance to the network settings, hold down the reset button on the appliance for 15 to 20 seconds while switching the appliance on / V001 19

22 Mounting Connecting unit to WLAN If the unit is to be operated via WLAN, the connection to the unit must be configured. To provide a secure WLAN-connection it is recommended that the WLAN-network is encoded using WPA2. The quality and operating range of the WLAN-connection will depend on the environment (e.g. thick walls, other WLAN units). When selecting a suitable location for set up, take the signal strength into consideration. Requirements: 99 You are registered on the unit as Administrator or Service Technician (Settings > Access Levels > Administrator/Technician).. Check WLAN-settings with you Network-Administrator. Tap the following on the touch screen Settings > System Settings > Network. Under Interface select WLAN and confirm with OK. Set WLAN. Confirm with OK. Testing the device You can read in an X-ray image to check that the appliance is properly connected. Select the Test tab. Select the appliance from the Registered Devices options list. Select the mode class. Select the mode. Click Read image. To read the image plate, see "11.2 Reading the image data using the computer" / V001

23 Mounting 8.2 X-ray appliance settings Intraoral X-ray appliances The following table states the standard values of the exposure time for a house cat (approx. 6 kg) to a medium-sized dog (approx. 20 kg). The exposure times listed in the table for a tube length of 20 cm were achieved using a dental X-ray unit with DC-emitter (cathode spot 0.7 mm; tube length 20 cm). The exposure times for a tube length of 30 cm were calculated using the exposure times for a tube length of 20 cm. The standard exposure values for F-speed film (e. g. Kodak Insight) can be used. Check and adjust X-ray appliances in accordance with the following standard equipment-specific values. Extraoral X-ray appliance Most extraoral X-ray appliances can be operated using the same settings as for analog films. The sensitivity of the scanner has been optimised for film-foil system of the class 200. Set the sensitivity class to 200 (film-foil system). If the x-ray unit does not use the sensitivity class to 200 (film-foil system), adapt the sensitivity of the image plate scanner using the HV-settings. Refer to Dürr Medical for the precise settings. If deviations occur (see "14.1 Defective radiograph"), adapt the image plate scanner to the x-ray unit (e. g. HV-setting, scanning mode) / V001 21

24 Mounting 8.3 Tests for start-up The necessary tests (e. g. acceptance test) are regulated by the locally applicable national law. Find out which tests are to be made. Carry out tests in accordance with national law. Electrical safety check Carry out the electrical safety check according to the national law (e. g. housing leakage current). Document the results / V001

25 Usage 9 Using the touch screen NOTICE Damage to the touchscreen due to incorrect handling Only operate the touchscreen by using the tip of one's fingers or the stylus. Do not use any sharp instrument (e. g. ballpoint pen) to operate the touchscreens. Protect the touchscreen from water. Operate the touchscreen by tapping the tip of one's fingers or the stylus in order to open a menu or input field. 9.2 Using the menu Menus integrated in the window contain additional commands which can be selected. 26 Usage 9.4 Calling up information on the touch screen Messages will appear on the touch screen display. The messages have been divided into the following categories: Fault Unit will no longer function. Once the problem has been solved the fault mode must be closed. Warning After confirmation the unit continues to function normally or at reduced function. Note Important information for the operator. The unit continues to function normally. Information Information for the operator, e.g. concerning the unit status. The unit continues to function normally. Touch Information. The message information will be displayed. Where more than one information item is available, the latest message with the highest priority will be displayed first. For further informationen on messages touch Help. 10 Use image plates correctly CAUTION Image plates are toxic Image plates which are not packed in a light protection cover can lead to poisoning when placed in the mouth or swallowed. Only place image plates in the animal's mouth in a light protection cover. Do not swallow the image plate or parts of it. If the image plate or parts thereof are swallowed, remove the image plate immediately. If the light protection cover was damaged in the mouth of the animal, rinse out the mouth as thoroughly as possible. Image plates are as flexible as x-ray film. The image plates should not be bent. Do not scratch the image plates. Do not subject the image plates to pressure from hard or pointed objects. Do not soil the image plates / V001

27 Protect the image plates against sunlight and ultraviolet light. Store the image plates in a suitable light protection cover. Image plates will be pre-exposed if subjected to natural radiation and stray x-ray radiation. Protect erased and exposed image plates from x-ray interference. If the image plate has been stored for longer than one week, erase the image plate prior to use. Do not store image plates in hot or moist conditions. Observe ambient conditions (see "4.2 Image plate"). When used properly, image plates can be exposed, read and erased several hundred times provided there is no mechanical damage. Replace the image plate if there are any signs of damage (e.g. protective layer is damaged or visible scratches) which could interfere with diagnosis. Clean image plates properly (see "12.3 Image plate"). Usage 11 Instructions for use CAUTION Image data on the image plate are not resistant The image data is altered by light, natural X-ray radiation and scattered X-ray radiation. This will lead to a reduction in diagnostic information. Read the image data within 30 minutes of exposure. Never handle exposed image plates without the light protection cover. Do not subject an exposed image plate to X-ray radiation before and after the reading process. Do not X-ray during the reading process if the appliance is in the same room as the X-ray tube Taking an X-ray Intraoral X-rays: The sequence is described using an example of a size 2 Plus image plate. If used for the first time or if stored for more than a week, erase the image plate (see "11.4 Erasing the image plate"). Slide the image plate fully into the light protection cover. The black (inactive) side of the image plate must be visible. Producing an X-ray exposure NOTICE Damage to the image plate caused by a sharp-edged holding system Only use holding systems which will not damage the light protection cover or the image plates in any way. Do not use holding systems with sharp edges. Wear protective gloves Place the image plate in the light protection cover into the animal's mouth. Make sure that the active side of the image plate points towards the X-ray tube. Pull off adhesive strips and firmly seal the light protection cover by pressing together. 1 Immediately before placing in the animal's mouth, disinfect the light protection cover with a disinfection wipe (e. g. B 60 from Orochemie). 2 Set exposure times and setting values on the X-ray appliance (see "8.2 X-ray appliance settings"). Produce an X-ray exposure. The image data must be read within 30 minutes. Preparing reading CAUTION Light erases the image data on the image plate Never handle exposed image plates without the light protection cover. Wear protective gloves Remove the image plate from the animal's mouth with the light protection cover. WARNING Contamination of the appliance Clean and disinfect the light protection cover before removing the image plate / V001

29 In the event of heavy soiling, e. g. from blood, dry clean the light protection cover and protective gloves, e. g. wipe with a clean cellulose cloth. Disinfect the light protection cover and protective gloves with a disinfection wipe (e. g. Orochemie B 60). Usage Tear open the light protection cover along the adhesive edge. Slide the lever on the foil cassette downwards until it engages. The tongue must be completely visible. Place the light protection cover with the image plate on the disinfection wipe. The image plate in its light protection cover is placed on the tongue. The inactive side must be visible. Slide the image plate out of the light protection cover and immediately into the foil cassette until it is firmly in position. Allow the light protection cover to fully dry. Pull off protective gloves, disinfect and clean hands. NOTICE Powder from the protective gloves can damage the appliance if there is any on the image plate during scanning Completely clean the hands of the protective glove powder before handling the image plate / V001 27

30 Usage Extraoral X-rays: The exact procedure is given using an 18x24 image plate as example. Required accessories: Image plate Foil cassette the same size as the image plate Preparing the X-ray 99 Image plate has been cleaned. 99 Image plate is not damaged. Where using for the first time or when stored for over a week: erase image plate (see "11.4 Erasing the image plate"). Slide the image plate completely into the flexible foil cassette. The black (inactive) side of the image plate must be visible. Where required the correct position of the image plate (left or right side) can be identified using lead letters. Producing an X-ray exposure Place the x-ray cassette into the x-ray unit. Make sure that the active side of the image plate points towards the X-ray tube. Set exposure times and setting values on the X-ray appliance (see "8.2 X-ray appliance settings"). Produce an X-ray exposure. The image data must be read within 30 minutes. Preparing reading CAUTION Light erases the image data on the image plate Never handle exposed image plates without the foil cassette. Wear protective gloves Place the foil cassette in the rigid cassette. The foam rubber side of the foil cassette must point in the direction of the cover of the X-ray cassette. WARNING Contamination of the appliance Clean and disinfect the rigid cassette/ foil sleeve before removing the foil cassette. For further information on using the imaging software, see respective manual. Press the on/off switch to switch on the appliance. Switch on the computer and monitor. Start the imaging software. Select holder and animal. Select the exposure values in the X-ray module. Select the desired resolution. Click the Scan button. An animated visual symbol requesting insertion of the image plate appears on the touch screen. Only insert the image plate once the bar above the animated sequence has turned green. To avoid mixing up the X-ray images, only read the X-ray images of the selected holder and animal / V001 29

Usage 11.3 Scanning image data using the unit touch screen Start image plate scanner When scanning the image data via the touch screen, there is no need for connection to a computer. The image data is stored locally on the memory card. In order to transfer the image data to the imaging software, the appliance must be connected to a computer. Scanning by touch screen can be carried out in one of two ways: Scanning: Before scanning the image data, the holder and animal data and exposure settings of the image are entered and then saved with the image data. If no holder and animal data and exposure settings of the image are entered, the image is saved to a folder with date and time. Rapid scanning: The image is saved to a folder with the date and time and no additional information. Use Help on the touch screen for further information on operating the appliance via the touch screen. Requirements: 99 Memory card (SDHC, max. 32 GB) in a spare slot on the appliance. These x- rays can be imported using a network connection to suitable imaging software (e.g. Vet-Exam Intra or Plus). Connect the appliance to the network Start the imaging software. Begin image import using the imaging software (for further information refer to the handbook supplied with the imaging software). Save image data. Image data on the memory card is erased as soon as the data transfer has been successful. Scanning progress is displayed on the touch screen. Image data is automatically saved. The touch screen only shows a preview which serves to provide an initial impression of the final X-ray image. For purposes of diagnosis the x-ray image must be viewed on a diagnostic monitor / V001 33

36 Usage 11.4 Erasing the image plate The image data is automatically erased after being read. The special ERASE mode only activates the erasure unit of the image plate scanner. Image data is not read. In the following cases, the image plate must be erased with the special mode: When the image plate is used for the first time or if stored for more than a week. Due to a fault, the image data on the image plate has not been erased (error message in the software). Erasing image plates using the computer Choose the special "ERASE" mode in the software. Scan the image plate (see "11.2 Reading the image data using the computer"). Erasing image plates using the touch screen Touch menu on touch screen Rapid Scanning. Select scanning mode ERASE. Scan the image plate (see "11.3 Scanning image data using the unit touch screen") Switching off the appliance Press the on/off switch for 3 seconds. As soon as the appliance has shut down, it switches off completely. The touch screen is now off. 12 Cleaning and disinfecting NOTICE Unsuitable agents and methods can damage the appliance and accessories Only use the disinfection and cleaning agents specified or approved by DÜRR MEDICAL. Observe the operating instructions of the disinfection and cleaning agents. Wear protective gloves 12.1 Image plate scanner Unit surfaces The appliance surface must be cleaned and disinfected of contamination or soiling. Use the following cleaning and disinfectant agents: 99 B 30 quick disinfection 99 B 60 disinfection wipe NOTICE Liquid can cause damage to the appliance Do not spray the appliance with cleaning and disinfectant agents. Make sure that liquid does not get inside the appliance. Remove any soiling with a soft, wet, lint-free cloth. Disinfect the surfaces using a disinfection wipe. Alternatively use a spray disinfectant on a soft, lint-free cloth. Observe the disinfectant operating instructions / V001

37 12.2 Light protection cover The appliance surface must be cleaned and disinfected in cases of contamination or soiling. Use the following cleaning and disinfectant agents: 99 B 60 disinfection wipe from Orochemie 99 B 30 quick disinfection from Orochemie Disinfect the light protection cover with a disinfection wipe before and after placement. Alternatively, use a spray disinfectant on a soft, lint-free cloth. Observe the disinfectant operating instructions. Allow the light protection cover to dry fully before using Image plate Use the following cleaning agents: 99 IP cleaning wipe image plate cleaning wipe NOTICE Heat or humidity damages the image plate Do not steam sterilise the image plate. Do not immerse-disinfect the image plate. Only use approved cleaning agents. Soiling on both sides of the image plate should be cleaned off with a soft, lint-free cloth prior to each use. Remove resistant or dried on dirt with the image plate cleaning cloth. Observe the cleaning cloth operating instructions. Allow the image plate to dry fully before use Foil cassettes Usage The unit surface must be cleaned and disinfected in cases of contamination or soiling. Use the following cleaning and disinfectant agents when disinfecting with wipes: 99 Orochemie B30 99 Orochemie B60 For immersion disinfection, use the following cleaning and disinfectant agents: 99 Orochemie A20 NOTICE Heat can damage image plates Do not steam sterilise foil cassettes. Remove any soiling from both sides of the foil cassette with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Disinfect the foil cassette using a disinfectant wipe. Alternatively use a spray disinfectant on a soft, lint-free cloth. Observe the disinfectant instructions for use. Intraoral foil cassettes can be disinfected in a disinfectant bath. Allow the foil cassettes to dry fully before use Stylus pen for touch screen The stylus can be cleaned the same as the unit (see "12.1 Image plate scanner") / V001 35

38 Usage 13 Maintenance 13.1 Recommended maintenance schedule Only specialist staff or personnel trained by DÜRR MEDICAL may maintain the appliance. Before opening the appliance, power it down (e. g. remove plug). The recommended maintenance intervals are based on operating the appliance with 25 intraoral and 10 extraoral images per day and 220 working days per year. Maintenance interval Annual Every 2 years Every 5 years Maintenance activity Visually inspect appliance. Check image plates and foil cassettes for scratches, replace if necessary. Check the light protection brush, if necessary trim and remove long hairs or replace the light protection brush. The oscilloscope must not exceed 600 counts. Check belt drive, transport belts and springs, replace if necessary. Disassemble transport drum. Remove all dust and dirt from accessible parts. Assemble transport drum. Carry out system check. Set up report files using CRConfig. Replace roller module. Replace transport belts and tension springs. Replace fan belt. Check the light protection brush, if necessary trim and remove long hairs or replace the light protection brush. The oscilloscope must not exceed 600 counts. Disassemble transport drum and clean.
