2 Preface Producing a broad spectrum of colors and moods that are normally unachievable using stock selections of glass, Saflex PVB Earth Tones gives architects and designers more creative freedom with glass than ever before. Select from a range of 11 Earth Tones in shades of blue, grey, green, brown, and bronze colors that are all similar to industry standard glass tints when laminated in clear glass. 5 2. Product description 1. If you use glass panels with the same color code next to (against) each other (facade, officebuilding, etc.) you must take the following into account: 1. Make sure that the roll-off direction of each glass panel is the same. If not a color difference CAN occur. See figure 1.. Wrong. Wrong ROLL-OFF DIRECTION (Figure 1.) 2. In some situations of low light transmission, for example: at some translucent combinations or with a big lay-up in order to get an impact standard, the color can be less smooth. This uneven effect is called Mottle and can only be observed under special observation conditions. This phenomenon is hard to see with the human eye and depends on different circumstances, such as: viewing angle, distance to the glass, condition of the light, contrast between the different layers and sensitivity of the observer. 2016/01 3. Since the Saflex Earth Tones have a relatively smooth surface, Eastman advises to store and work with the interlayer at a maximum temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. (the storage in combination with a maximum of 12% humidity). Because the interlayer remains relatively stiff in this temperature and humidity, it vents better. As soon as the interlayers is to warm, the interlayer becomes sticky and enhances the chance upon entrained air. Page 5 of 7
