1 The AGRO COLOR & WEIGHT has been designed by Agro Technologie, a department of Apollinaire Ltd. It is an automatic colorimeter + laboratory scale for fruits and vegetables

2 Congratulations for having acquired an AGRO COLOR & WEIGHT! Your box contains: - The device itself composed by the Touchscreen console, and the sensor The software backup (On a CD) - The manual - A certificate of conformity - The recipient that has to be placed in order to avoid lateral light interference - A charger - A stilet The AGRO COLOR & WEIGHT has been completely designed and assembled in France. The electronic card has been manufactured through a highly robotized process. The AGRO COLOR & WEIGHT is not waterproof! It is a precision instrument, avoid falls and shocks The AGRO COLOR & WEIGHT is guaranteed 2 years from the date of shipment - Resolution : +/- 1 gram 1/256 color level - Precision : +/- 0.5 gram 1/256 color level - We recommend to keep the instrument connected to sector as far as possible (After long time on batteries, measurements can become sporadic) - Li-Ion polymer battery by Cameron Sino : 6000 mah 7.2 V - Touchscreen console by Archos - Working under Windows 7 starter (The software starts immediately when turning on, and registers parameters automatically when turning off the device You don t have to use Windows interface ) - 1 GB Ram - 32 GB hard disk - Intel inside

3 Starting : - Place the lateral light protection system - Press 3 seconds on this button : - A blue Led switches on - Windows starts - The software starts automatically as well - This window appears :

4 - Take the stillet on left side : - Press on this button in order to open the keyboard - Press again in order to remove the keyboard - In order to switch off the instrument, close the software using the red cross :

5 - Then press 3 seconds on the button :

6 Calibrating weight : KEEP THE SENSOR FREE OF ANY PRESSURE VERIFY THAT THE USB CABLE WILL NOT DISTURB MEASUREMENTS PRESS ON THE BUTTON CALIBRATE 0 GRAMS Sometimes, when pressing on Calibrate 0 grams, an absurd value is displayed due to electrical noise Don t worry, press again till it O Grams is displayed In the future, if you want to check the calibration value : - Turn on the device - Click on Calibrate O grams - Place a weight of 500 grams on the camera - Click on the padlock - Click on Calibrate 500 Grams

7 Calibrating color : Place a pure white paper on the camera, press it with your finger, and click on the button Pure White Calib It becomes green Measuring : Place your fruits or other products one after each other on the camera

8 Once the weight stabilized during half a second, a photo is taken by the camera and analysed. The weight is displayed as well a value between 0 and 255 for each color : Red, Blue and Green The fields Red, Blue and Green become red during picture analyse (The first second is for camera focus, and then the color is calculated pixel by pixel It takes approx. one second more) Recording : 1) Enter the name of the batch to be measured in the field «BATCH» 2) Avoid accents,, /, *,., : +- in the name of the batch, but you can put the date inside this name for example 3) Enter complementary information in the field «FRUIT» if necessary 4) A button «START» appears 5) Click on «START» - «END» appears, and «START» disappears 6) Make the measurements placing the fruits one after each other during a few seconds. 7) The data is registered when the weight goes down the trigger TH defined by user in the field TRIGGER TH 8) In order to remove a data from the table, select corresponding line, and click on Delete selection 9) The batch is registered when you press on END

9 10) When the batch is finished, click on «END» - the button disappears 11) The statistical data are displayed 12) You can start a new batch by entering a new batch name Access to batches : Just press the button ACCESS TO BATCHES in order to access to previous batches data and statistics You can as well delete old batches from this window Close the consultation window, the main window appears

10 By clicking on a line, all corresponding data is displayed on the right. The last line corresponds to the average of each column All this data is stored under Excel files in the directory C:\AGROCOLW

11 Specific soft for cherries : The cherries software is calibrated according to Ctifl standard The instrument measures a quantity of red, which cannot be compared from one instrument to the other, but is linked to the chart presented in the middle of the window. You can adjust yourself the calibration by clicking on the padlock Change the values according to the level of red, and press on REGISTER CALIBRATION

12 Specific soft for apricots : The apricots software is calibrated according to Ctifl standard The instrument measures 3 indexes useful for Apricots color measurement : - The CHROMA that determines the Ctifl values from 1 to 6 - When the value of chroma is less than the one fixed for 6, another index has to be used, as the chroma is no more representative : It is the quantity of green (From 7 to 9 indexes) - The difference between index 9 and 10 is determined by the quantity of blue You can adjust yourself the calibration by clicking on the padlock Change the values according to the level of blue, green or chroma, and press on REGISTER CALIBRATION

13 Measurement accuracy & maintenance : The instrument is sensible to external strong light That s why a lateral light protection is provided Please don t place the instrument directly under a light nor very close to a window If you move the instrument, and place it in another light environment, you might have to adjust the calibration Check that the lens stays free of any fruit juice, or any small particles Remove them using a wet sponge Check that the Usb cable doesn t interfere with the balance before any measurement
