Discomfort glare is caused when viewing a bright LED point source. This is why we work with companies like SELUX Lighting who address GLARE issues when using LED as a light source. a) AVANZA Research and design to produce a free form reflector system using efficient high power LED. HOW? - using direct light and reflected light with a cross beam reflector system, LED cluster are aligned in set position to deliver even luminance s across the reflector for optimum visibility and appearance. We have recently been asked to provide a high power Philips Fortimo LED at 1100 Lumen for each 280mm length of LED, but glare control was a major problem. Our solution was to use a matt low glare louvre with an option of either opal or ice diffuser to lay over the top of the louvre. The opal was chosen for this project. This solved our glare issue for the project and all parties were very happy with the sample provided for approval. See photos on following page
