Participating artists are encouraged to explore the idea of prints, editions and multiples in new ways. For example, the creation of an eventual print object may be the result of a performance or installation, an indicator of a larger artistic experiment, or a unique object or project in its own right. This exhibition is also intended as an exploration of the idea of the edition, either as an extension of the print manifested in digital or sculptural form, or as a multiple. In short, the print or edition is an interesting object capable of exploring many different aspects of cultural production simultaneously. 25 DAN HALTER All of a Sardine Kapenta (Lake Tanganyika Sardine) Zimbabwe 2007 Edition of 5 R Using the aesthetic and lingo of old-school white Zimbabweans and Rhodesians this work incorporates the expression all of a sardine. This is slang for all of a sudden. The kapenta fish is eaten by a wide range of the local population and served as snacks and starters in hotels. Introduced into Lake Kariba from Lake Tanganyika in the 1960s it is one of the few food sources still available in Zimbabwe. (Details)
