4 4 The idea Atmosfære It all began... What could be done with one aluminium plate still holding on to the DNA of Louis Poulsen? Challenging project with a unique result!

5 5 Lighting philosophy A difficult balance The purpose of the shade. Not only shading but also distributing. To wrap up the light to avoid glare from the naked light source. But at the same time spreading out the light. And creating ambience. Louise Campbell: It is about finding a delicate balance. In LC shutters one shade does it all: Shading, distributing and creating the ambience.

6 6 Lighting concept Louise Campbell: So the job is to create the transition from hard light, to gentle light, to distribute the light kindly round the room, without wasting more light than necessary in the process Louise Campbell: The word gentle is of utmost importance to me. Lighting dictates the atmosphere of any room. I prefer 100 lit candles to a single powerful light source any day. So how design a single lamp? By fragmenting the light it emits.. by letting the light slip through the many cracks and openings and lie soft and gently at the small platforms Louise Campbell:. so the shade and its light seem like something soft and alluring - like many small candles - even at a distance And like shutters.

7 7 Lighting concept Layers: Like in all the other lamps Louise Campbell have designed for Louis Poulsen, she works with layers. In LC Shutters this is done by perforating and punching an extra layer out of one piece of material. This makes the lamp very robust and strong.
