Changes and Upgrades in BasePac '97 regarding to BasePac Version 1.18f Error correction in BasePac'97: 1. When loading Background pictures you can now use also special signs as äöü in the filename. Then length of filenames is still restricted to 8 characters. 2. While scaling background pictures you can now use the right mouse button for scrolling. 3. Reverse stitching of block is now grayed in background picture mode. 4. In block selection there was a divide through 0 Error when there was a block which is very high and has no width. Now also blocks as this will be displayed correctly. 5. When more than one view of a design is opened there will be no more errors when switching between the views of the design. 6. Now you can move a block only to the end of the active area and not outside, which was possible before. 7. The usage of the 2 point copy has changed. Now the 2 point copy is made with Shift and left mouse button instead of right mouse button, because you need the right mouse button to do scrolling during the 2 point copy. 8. When there are Zero stitches in blocks the Satin stitch correction did not work correctly. Now it works also in this cases. 9. At copy and paste now the order of embroidery is used. 10. After using 3 point copy the automatic scrolling is turned off. 11. There was the case, that the module boxes are not shown or the crosshair cursor was not shown. Now this error will no more occur. 12. The module parameters in the parameter line were sometimes always flickering. Now the drawing routine is optimized to have no flickering. 13. At thick lettering the height compensation is optimized. 14. At thick lettering the correct box around the letters is now showed. 15. The message "stitches changed" comes now only when the stitches are really changed. 16. Now you can use with fontmaker created multi color lettering. 17. At automatic borders when using contour underlayer there was sometimes a wrong Stitch in the underlayers which came outside. Now this is corrected. 18. In some letters in Outline Arizona were large Jumpstitches in the underlayers. Now the calculation is optimized to have correct underlayers. 19. The calculation of the stitches is optimized, so the contour fits better to the entered lines. 20. At segmented input now also in small segments the density fits better. 21. Now at corners always the correct side will be made exactly. Before there was sometimes the wrong side made exactly. 22. Macro fill ignores multiple stitch direction lines. If there are multiple lines, the direction is made of the first line starting and ending point. 23. At Macro on lines the algorithm is optimized so that the macros fit better and are more similar to each other. 24. In some times the changing of pairs during input was not correct and then there were also calculation errors. This is optimized now. Error correction in Design management: 1. At ZSK Stitch data diskette the needle coding is now allowed only until 14 because the ZSK stitch data disk allows only needle coding until Now you can use the GiS design management also on write protected media (as CD-Recordable...). Extensions to BasePac'97 (free of charge for BasePac users): 1. With the Space bar you can change the view in edit and punch mode so that the selected stitch is in the center of the screen. This makes punching easier.
2. With the Key D in edit and punch mode you can insert a stitch in the middle between the selected stitch and the next stitch. This is similar to the insert function in the GiS DOS Editor program. 3. With a right mouse button click you can move the window with the punch parameters centered under the mouse position. After clicking one of the buttons, the windows jumps back to the pervious position. Is the free Tool palette in use, this is displayed together with the punch parameters in one windows. This can be used also with the free Tool palette in Module and monogramming mode. 4. At input of Zoom factor now the last used value is remembered and will be shown as standard when using this function. The Zoom factor input can be called with direct key Alt+End (NumPad1). 5. In module mode the size and stitch count of the selected block is shown in the status line. 6. The alphanumeric stitch display shows now the largest stitch of the actual automatic program while inside in mode. 7. When stitches are changed in letters or reference data, there comes now the warning "Stitches changed, overwrite?" only one time. 8. At concat all now comes a Message for confirmation of the action. (This function is available only with Editor, Monogramm or Option) 9. At recalculation now the input for Width of center line is in %. (This function is available inly with Editor or option) 10. At the function cleaning now the range can be selected with minimum and maximum length. This is to avoid cleaning of Empty stitches if wanted. (This function is available only with Editor Option) 11. At satin stitch correction a new parameter is encountered for the maximum angle which defines stitches as satin. Before this angle was fixed 45. (This function is available only with Editor Option) 12. The sation stitch correction works now also with reference data with pairs of points. (This function is available only with Editor Option) 13. At simple division now is a second parameter for minimum length. At calculation stitches shorter than this will now be divided. (This function is available only with Option) 14. In "View - show/hide needles" now can be "Coord. Off" selected. With this Reference data of hidden needles will not be displayed. 15. At "View - Coordinates" now the Size of the reference points can be selected in 3 sizes. 16. At "View - Coordinates" can be selected if ther Coordinates or the stitches are shown above. So you can select if you want to see the stitches more clearly or the reference data. During edition of reference data, this is shown above always. 17. When using runnings with shift it makes now Corners better. When using shift between 20% and 80% the edge point is made addtional to the shifted point. The edge point is made exactly without swing, after it the swing is continued as there is no edge point. When using shift less than 20% or more than 80% the edge point is made instead of the shifted point with the selected swing value. (This function is available only with Option) 18. In menu "Edit" there is a new function "Clean Coordinates". This is to change parameters and also to remove points which are too near to another for the complete automatic program. This function can be used in mode for the selected automatic or in module mode for the selected blocks. (This function is available only with Editor or Option) Extension to Design management: 1. At double click on the Text line in Pictogram window will act as double click to a text directory line. 2. Now the actual directory can be exported as ASCII file. The filename will be entered through standard windows file dialog. This can be made from harddisk or floppy disk. 3. The text directory can be printed. All selected designs from the actual directory will be printed. This can be made from Harddisk or floppy disk directory. 4. Now the pictorgrams of the designs can be exported. The pictograms of the selected designs will be exported. The initial filename is design number.pcx. At every pictogram the user has to validate the filename. The pictogram is saved in PCX Format. 5. When saving designs it shows in the message "Design number exists, Overwrite?" the design number which will be overwritten. 6. There is a new Disk format Juki D. 7. Now designs from CD-ROM can be loaded. The designs on the CD-ROM can be in the formats Tajima,
ZSK, Barudan, Toyota or Melco Expanded. The designs can be saved in and folder structure. The settings for the conversion are used from Disk format settings for drive B Format Tajima. When clicking to the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive it will show a dialog where the user can select the directory and the file type which will be used for selection of the designs. 8. When reading from CD-ROM or disk it is now possible to change designs with only stops to designs with needle change. This can be selected in the disk format settings. This setting is saved for each disk format separated. Only pure Stop designs, this means designs which have no Needle change will be converted! 9. When the Shiffli Disk option is set in the BasePac'97 it is also possible to read disks in Lässer Code. The writing of Lässer disks and also the support of other shiffli formats is not finished and will be available as add on. 10. When the shiffli Disk option is set in the BasePac'97 there is also a setting for saving designs on ZSK Neutral Code specific to the machine system for which it is used. In the Disk parameters can be selected the sub systemsvomag, Laesser, Saurer or CP Now also Macintosh computers with pentium board are supported. With this computers it is only possible to use DOS compatible Disk formats. For this the design management can be set up to "Only DOS Disk format" in the system dialog (right click to headline of design selection). But with this setting formattion and duplication of Disks is not possible. Additional tools which are installed free of charge with BasePac '97 1. Now a check program for the GiS Design management will be installed. This program checks the design managent and corrects errors in it. This program runs in a DOS Box. 2. A Alphabet installation program is installed which can be used to install fonts which are created with Font maker and are saved on GiS Disks. Extension 1.2 (not free of charge): 1. At input with outer contour automatic underlayers can be made. In the parameter dialog there are several settings for the underlayers: - 3 Underlayer types can be combined (Contour, Fill single, Fill double) - distance of contour underlayers from the outer contour - Length and swing of the contour underlayer - distance of fill unserlayers from the outer contour - Length and swing of the Fill underlayers - Angle of the Fill underlayers to the main direction of the stitches. The first layer of fill underlayers is made in this angle, the second layer is made in this angle + 90 and the third Layer is made in this angle There is a Swing parameter for the Fill stitches available. With this the fill stitches make a swing irregular up to the given value. This gives very individual fill structures. 3. Now export of Designs as Reference data for FontMaker is possible. Such exported designs can be used to create reference data alphabets in FontMaker. Extension 2.2 (not free of charge): 1. At segmented input it is possible to give branches similar to runnings. With this segmented areas with complex outfit and free Ending point can be made. 2. At outer contour input can be areas selected with other division type. For this the division type can be selected during the input of the area. (All division types can be selected, but no stencil inside this subareas is possible) 3. In edit is no a function to canged center line input to pairs of points. This can be used to change the actual automatic or to change the selected blocks in module mode. Extension Monogramm 2 (not free of charge):
1. In monogramming is a new function Envelope. With this the Envelope of the Text can be changed free. Some Standard envelopes are predefined and can be changed by the user. Extension Shiffli Editor (not free of charge): 1. The shiffli editor extension (only available as extension to Editor option) allows to edit the Shiffli special function. Also there is a check program for shiffli design. 2. It is possible to enter free needle and rapport patterns 3. It is possible to enter Text functions in the design. Error Correction Print & Statistics: 1. There was an error in catalog printing (using of the wrong collection) which is corrected. Extension to Print & Statistics: 1. In the Histogramm it is possible to select also the Shiffli special functions if Shiffli Editor or Shiffli Disk is set in BasePac'97 FontMaker: 1. The FontMaker can be startet in a DOS Box directly from the Windows Desktop. Now it is possible to use designs punched with BasePac'97 or recalculated with the Coordinate processor as Reference data Fonts. This designs have to be exported from BasePac'97 with the function "Export as data for Fontmaker". Helper functions for Fontmaker (Only in connection with 2.2 and Editor Option) 1. There is a direct key for Batch conversion fo designs in coordinates for Fontmaker defined. With Alt+F10 the File Open dialog is opened and all Desings can be selected which shall be converted. After pressing OK one by one design is loaded and the export dialog is shown where the user can select the design number in which it shall be saved. This design number should fit the needs of Fontmaker. 2. There is a direct key for Batch conversion fo designs in coordinates for Fontmaker with automatic call of Coordinate processor defined. With Alt+F9 the File Open dialog is opened and all Desings can be selected which shall be converted. After pressing OK one by one design is loaded, recalculated with the Coordinate processor and the export dialog is shown where the user can select the design number in which it shall be saved. This design number should fit the needs of Fontmaker. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00a compared with Version 2.00 Monogram Letters with slant angle on envelope Letters with slant angle on envelope Wrong calculation. Slant angle was missing at the first letter Letters with under length has been shifted (g in Chicago with font Zürich Calligraph)
Text module with display Text filled and needle not equal needle 1 Stitch division in characters When dragging the text has been drawn with needle 1, after a redraw it has been drawn correctly The stitch division was not made correctly in some characters of the font Old English. This error could also occur with other fonts. Contour underlayer Macro on line with adjustment Background scaling in the punch mode Save background picture Display Coordinates behind stitches Save stitch type with macro on line Selection of stitch type Delete coordinates Switch curved/straight outline Angled division in the recalculation function ing with input mode center line ing with input mode outer contour with multiple stitch directions ing with input mode center line or pairwise and stitch division single or regular Calculation stopped at the first corner, a jumo stitch was inserted after that Error in the calculation The crosshairs have been switched off The path to the picture files is saved now, so when loading pictures the last used path is taken Connection to the automatic has been drawn in the Coordinate colour instead of the stitch colour Macro-size has not been stored, this stitch type can be overwritten without macro now Error when switching the stitch types, paramter hasn t been set correctly Curved /straight switch hasn t been administered correctly Happens now with G and K key alternating Can not be chosen any more, if only 1 or 1.2 password available Errors could have happened when inputting division lines going through the start point of the automatic The adherence of the stitch density has been improved In the calculation of shortened stitches the division points are now calculated correctly. Shiffli Editor Edition of repeat pattern By clicking the repeat pattern-button the repeat pattern directory it is always displayed from now on.
Input of text With the text function button the standard text directory is opened from now on.. Input of text Texts are deleted from the design by inputting the value 0. BasePac and other options BasePac in Portugese language Export of designs for the Fontmaker Zoom of very large designs with, max. zoom of 5 Print software has been still German Every first point of a holehas not been exported The software could have stopped because of an overflow Design administration and disc functions Save design which has been loaded from a disk Saving options Start in the center Start of machine, design header or printing out of the BasePac Design number is displayed as standard value now If the first stitch has been started from the center, a short stitch right to the middle was created. Now the first stitch is output as needle off Backup-name has been deleted Correction of errors design administration version 2.81 compared with 2.80 Store at Neutral Code disk with activated Shiffli Option Copying more than one design on Barudan FDR III disc Read ZSK stitch data disc with optimisefunction switched on Write a Tajima disc Read Tajima-discs without BOOT-sector Design header Histogram Design header Histogram When saving multihead designs just a pert of the design has been stored If the design name of the 1 st design has been longer than the name of the 2 nd design, the rest of the 1 st name remained in the 2 nd design If the machine functions borer on and borer off followed each other directly in the design, it was just read borer off. Additionally a shifting has been made. Empty DOS-discs could not be used as Tajima-disc or any other DOS-format Problems occurred with newer computers. Now automatically a correct BOOT-sector is written on these discs. Therefore the disc must not be write-protected. The KSA-functions could not be chosen. Now as a interim solution the KSA-functions are always displayed in the Histogram. Repeat pattern in the start condition has not been displayed,
even if the repeat pattern display has been activated Load from Neutral Code discs Load from disc with Pure stop designs as needle change-function Write on Tajima- or Barudan disc Read and Write Laesser discs Display number of stitches in the design directory Only the second digit of the design version has been displayed Needle number has not been set correctly in the design header and therefore not been printed correctly The command combination Thread cutting Stop Colour change has been interpreted wrongly and a large jump was inserted. New! (if Shiffli-Option available) The actual number of stitches is displayed now at all new or new loaded designs, and not the number of data sets any more. The number of stitches is calculated according to the max. stitch length input in the design header Additions in BasePac 97 Version 2.00a (with no charge) The possibility of creating individual stencils has been added. In the File-menu there are 2 new entries open stencil and save stencil. The description of these functions can be found in the latest online-help file dated November 13th Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00b compared with Version 2.00a Load Background picture BasePac and other options Shiffli Designs After having loaded the background picture, the crosshair and the selection box have been lost It is now possible to load Shiffli designs without Shiffli disk or Shiffli Editor option in the BasePac. Editing of designs is only possible with Shiffli Editor option. Correction of errors design administration version 2.82 compared with 2.81 Shiffli design on NC Disk It is now possible to load and save Shiffli designs on NC Disk also without Shiffli disk option. The shiffli Disk option is needed for other Shiffli disk formats. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00c compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b Monogram
Change Text to Coordinates Trimming at Special umlaut characters Creation of macros Save Macros System crash after insertion of Needle change Edge type obtuse at input mode in pairs Edge type acute at input mode in pairs Editor Insertion of machine functions Insert zero stitches Delete Stitch at machine function Slow speed BasePac and other options Wrong stitch sequence at the design start Sometimes needle changes has been inserted between the letters, even if the same needle has been used for all letters In some cases in the umlaut letters the trimming between the letter and the dots has been made even if the trimming length was set larger. Now the trimming length will be used always. Saving a pattern created from one of the standard frames as a macro, an extra stitch was inserted at the beginning of the macro. So the whole macro was wrong. When trying to save a Macro which consists of only one stitch an error occurred. Now it is not allowed to save such Macros. Sometimes the insertion of a stitch and an needle change at the end of an design causes an system crash. Using edge type obtuse the edge stitches are displayed outside of the contour in some cases. Using edge type acute too small stitches were calculated at the beginning of the design. If there are already some machine functions at one position, each additional one is inserted behind them. If there are already some machine functions at one position each added zero-stitch (Ctrl+0) is inserted behind them. If a stitch is deleted (DEL key) at a position where also a machine function takes place, the resulting stitch is made behind the machine function now and the machine function remains unchanged. An exception is the start of the design, here also machine functions are deleted. The initial value for slow speed (Multihead) is now set to slow speed on. These machines need always at first a slow speed off function which can be inserted easily. This makes only difference for machines which use this function.. For all other machines this switch has no effect. When saving a design which has special functions at the beginning sometimes wrong stitches has been calculated at the beginning Correction of errors design administration version 2.83 compared with 2.82 Chinese language version Renaming designs Other disk formats When using the disk parameter dialog the system crashed. If the designs have not been sorted according to design number or a search filter has been selected the renaming of a design causes the selection of the design. The automatic finder of disk formats is enhanced and the speed of loading directories and saving designs is optimized.
Format Juki D The Disk format Juki D is corrected and actualized. Now the Juki PGM-20 is also supported. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00d compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b/2.00c Shiffli Editor Conversion Thread Brake to Roller Brake Repeat Jump Load Design BasePac and other Options Display of needle color at text input Needle change in lettering Error message when loading a design Complex Fill Correction of errors and Extension Design management Version 2.84 Disk format Lässer Disk format Lässer Thread brake Disk format Neutral Code EPC Connection Lässer Disk Lässer Disk Lässer Disk At the conversion of Thread brake to Roller brake and back the Values 1 3 will be used the same way at both. Sometimes the repeat jump was not used correctly. Now the saved Repeat jump is always used. Shiffli designs were somtimes not recognized as shiffli designs. Now is the Needle color displayed correct in the Needlenumber input box. There was a mistake, that sometimes a needle change was not made in the stitch data after inserting it in monogramming mode. At screen resolutions larger than 1280 x 1024 came always an error message when loading a design. This error message is now removed. In the calculation of Complex fill areas with changes in Stitch direction, there were sometimes wrong stitches in the automatic underlayer stitches. At output to Lässer Disk in some cases it made a wrong stitch at Borer sequences and so it has as movement in the design. Now this is corrected. At input and output the conversion of Thread brake to roller brake is made with values 1 3 When saving designt to NC Disk it could be, that some stitches at the end of the design were not saved. This is corrected. Now the transmission of shiffli design ist possible in Neutral Code. At output to lässer Disk, there was a movement in the design at text functions At output to lässer Disk, now the conversion of Needle pattern has changed and is made earlier. At output to lässer Disk now at the Lässer Blattstich ein it makes automatically Kleiner Fadenleiter 4
NC Disk NC Disk Correction of errors Print & Statistics Version 1.22 Printing of Histogram for Shiffli Printing of Histogram for Shiffli Printing of Histogram for Shiffli and at Blattstich aus it goes back to the original value of the kleiner Fadenleiter function. At output to NC Disk now it sets the machine system correctly. At output to NC Disk now it sets the borer position only when R+C Change is set. When printing a histogram the special function thread brake is displayed as roller brake, when roller brake is activated. When printing a histogram of a shiffli design, the start settings are separated from the design through a line of asterisks ******** The histogram settings were not updated directly after finishing with the dialog. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00e compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b/2.00c/2.00d Fill underlayer at Outer Contour Load Picture (BMP Format) Monogram Schreibschrift 3! In Version 2.00d there were Calculation errors in calculation of the fill underlayers. This error is now corrected. At som compressed BMP Files was a protection error when loading. This error is now corrected. At Exclamation mark in Schreibschrift 3 was the calculation of the lock stitches in some sizes wrong. There appeared large stitches across the design. Now the calculation is corrected. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00f compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b/2.00c/2.00d/2.00e Corners at segmented input Automatic underlayer Stitch repeat at running stitch Modify special functions Error discription In some cases there was the Density not made correctly after corners. The calculation of automatic underlayers is optimized. There were some cases where the underlayer lays outside of the contour, and some cases where no Underlayer was calculated. At runnings with branches it calculates now the stitch repeat in the branches at the last line and not in the first line.
Text function Sequin Special function at design end Needle change Global Zoom function Searching for Stitch number Searching Monogram Start needle Shiffli Editor Design check Correction of errors Design Management Version 2.85 Send designs to EPC It was not possible to insert Text functions directly after Stop s. It was not possible to delete Sequin on / off functions in any case. Special functions with value on or off could not be deleted in some cases when set at the design end. Now Needle changes can be removed by typing Needle number 0 at the point of the needle change. The range for the max. Zoom factor is increased to a range from 1 to 50. When searching for stitch number it selected sometimes the wrong stitch. In the searching dialog, now the function max. stitch length can also be selected. The needle which is set in the first letter is now used as start needle in the design to avoid having Needle changes at the design start. In errors found in the design is selected sometimes the wrong stitch was selected. When sending designs to EPC it will now automatically use Neutral Code (Shiffli designs) or Transport Code (Multihead designs) depending on the design type. The setup for Shiffli is only for the Directory display in this case. Shiffli disk formats Lässer Disk Lässer Disk Barudan Disk Trimming Now the Hiraoka Disk can be used for reading and writing. The usage of the Sequin function is corrected. When saving to Lässer Disk the Slow speed is made automatically at Needle off and when switching from stitching to boring and back. When saving to Barudan Disk, now the Jump Stitches for trimming value can be set to 0 also. If this is set, there will be no jump stitches created for trimming, but instead there will be the Barudan trimming code generated. If this value is set > 0, the jump stitches are created as before and no Barudan trimming code is generated. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00g compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b/2.00c/2.00d/2.00e/2.00f
Editor Removal of needle changes between Borders After Conversion of Borders to Reference data, was a wrong stitch in the design, when the Needle change between the borders was removed. ZSK Memory Repeat files Shiffli Disk Hiraoka Code Correction of errors Design Management Version 2.86 The design numbers of repetition files are now also recognized and cannot be used again Reading and Writing of Hiraoka Disk ist now checked and released. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00h compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b/2.00c/2.00d/2.00e/2.00f/2.00g Wrong stitches at center line input Area filling Editor Coordinate processor Tajima Disk Needle change at design end Color setting Color tables Stock design CD-ROM Empty folders At areas with center line input and edge type acute and no stitch division, there were some cases when long wrong stitches occurred. This has been corrected In some cases there were stitches without stitch division made at the ends of the contours. Now the stitch division is made correctly. When a design had empty stitches directly before Trimming or other special functions, the coordinate processor made sometimes 100 empty stitches. Now this is corrected. Correction of errors Design Management Version 2.87 At output to Tajima disk with designs which have Needle change at the end, there were some cases that the last stitch after the stop function was not made as jump stitch. Now it is made as jump stitch. When there are no color tables (*.ftb) available, a error message occurred when calling the color settings from the design head. At the folder selection for stock design CD-ROM it was possible to select empty folders. Now these folders are
blocked and can not be selected. Alterations and Additions in the BasePac 97 Version 2.00m compared with Version 2.00/2.00a/2.00b/2.00c/2.00d/2.00e/2.00f/2.00g/2.00k Monogram Border library Stitch calculation The stitch calculation at the border is now beginning and ending in the first Edge of the contour During calculation of monograms with regular division, there was sometimes a floating point error coming up.
