2 Life s Too Short to Blend In Beverly Hills Dog is a new high-end line of dazzling dog clothing. Having a dog is a lifestyle, and that s the lifestyle we cater to. We offer 100% cotton tees decorated with Swarovski crystals, felt appliqués, and detailed embroidery. Our sweaters feature decorative ribbons, brightly colored buttons, patches, and even pockets! We take our cues from the fashion industry, and follow upcoming style and color trends. We put the style into the dog lifestyle. Beverly Hills Dog was created because of my foster dog named Holly. I was providing hospice care for her, and Holly lost all of her hair. When my friend Carmen learned of this, she began sending clothing for her. Some of the items were simple t-shirts, and others were upscale sweaters decorated with tulle, appliqués, and Swarovski crystals. Carmen had previously created a dog clothing line called Mac and Cheese, which was introduced at the New York Gift Show in It was a big hit immediately. Based on the strength of that line, FAO Schwarz hired her to do product development for pets and kids. I was the creative director for FAO at the time and that s how Carmen and I met. We discovered our mutual love of dogs, and talked for many years about creating a business around our canine friends. When I saw how beautiful Carmen s dog clothing was, I knew that working with her on this exciting new line was exactly what I wanted to do! We re excited to be launching our first collection.
