4 Model FM725 No threading, No bobbins, No limits! The Janome FM725 will bring out the artist in you. Select from your palette of fabrics and threads and blend together to create unique textures and surfaces. It s easy, by simply moving the fabrics freely under the needles you can quickly and easily create beautiful surface embellishments. Watch your own design develop everyone can do it! The FM725 is a needle felting machine it does not sew, but uses barbed needles to mesh fabrics together. The fibres mingle to create new colour and texture combinations that simply cannot be achieved with embroidery, applique, or any other kind of needlework. It doesn t require thread, a bobbin, or any previous sewing experience. The Janome FM725 will help you create fabrics which can then be sewn into a finished garment, furnishings or be simply used as a work of art. It has five barbed needles which mesh the fibres to secure two or more pieces of fabric together. Every design you create will be unique... experiment with colours, fabrics, yarns and a whole host of other creative materials a fantastic use of all those scraps of fabric and threads you never want to throw away! A built-in needle guard is provided for safety and there is easy access to the lint collection area under the needle plate. It even has a free arm facility. 5 TIP Try using lightweight chiffon and organza, watch them pucker, gather and fray creating beautiful textures and blends of colour. TIP If you punch a printed fabric into the base fabric, the pattern from the punched fabric will show through on the right side of the base fabric. High Level of Safety Adjustable presser foot and finger guard This see-through adjustable presser foot allows you to manipulate multiple layers with clear visibility. The height of the presser foot can be adjusted depending on the thickness of materials being punched. The see-through finger guard keeps your fingers safe as you work. In addition to using sturdy standard needles that resist breaking, the FM725 is equipped with a clear eye guard to help protect the user. Easy clean lint box Our lint box is quick to access and easy to clean. It is also sealed from the motor unit, prohibiting lint and debris from causing damage. Free arm The unique base storage box slides off so you can felt directly onto cuffs and sleeves, or use for three-dimensional projects like hats, bowls or sculpture. An instructional DVD is included to help get you started. This DVD explains the features and operation of the FM725 and also introduces basic embellishment techniques and materials.

6 TIP Start punching from the bottom of the design. The single needle is recommended for fine yarns and detail work. Don t forget the optional large extension table! Embellished piece by Jackie Smith Two sizes of needles now available to give more choice You can experiment with two thicknesses of needles to create a variety of finishes on even the same materials. For example, when making felt, some felters find the fine needle makes a denser felt and the standard needle gives more loft. Another exciting way to express your creativity! High quality nickel plating: Janome felting needles are nickel plated to resist rusting just like Janome sewing machine needles. Fine needles leave less visible puncture marks suitable for fine detailing and sculpturing. These needles can be used on fine fabrics and for finishing. Standard needles are strong, all-purpose needles suitable for a wide range of fabrics and have less breakages for smoother, easier usage. TIP To secure small loose fabrics in position cover with a piece of nylon net. This will peel off after embellishing. Five needle static unit Pre-set standard needles for greater safety and durability, plus easy replacement. A great choice for schools and anyone who has difficulty with poor eyesight or dexterity. Instead of thread or bobbin, these sharp needles each have barbs that catch the fibres of the fabrics and push them down through the layers. Janome s preset five-needle construction reduces needle breakage, even when working with multiple layers. Single needle unit A single needle unit comes with every FM725 machine. This unit is complete with a standard needle which is replaceable or can alternatively be used with a fine needle. Optional special needle kit (replaceable needles) A five needle unit which allows individual needle replacement and comes complete with a presser foot to accommodate the larger head of the needle unit.
