2 Overview System hardware consists of a touchscreen display (46-65 ), extremely portable stand and an Intel NUC running Windows 8. The display can be rotated, tilted and moved up and down depending on the needs of the patient. The System is designed to be a clinical hub and platform for future Bioness technologies. The first software package being released is designed to evaluate and improve abilities in individuals with disabilities resulting from traumatic injuries and movement disorders as well as improve performance in competitive athletes. There are seven (7) main therapies with a total of 16 different programs. (3) Eye Hand Procedures Metronome (4) Rotator Procedures (2) Letter Chart Programs (3) Rapid Eye Movement Procedures (2) Visual-Motor Programs Memory Recall Procedure 2

3 3 Therapy Categories Eye-Hand USER PACED Target stays present until patient touches target. TIME PACED Target will stay present for a fixed/set amount of time before next target appears; software-paced. REACTION TIME Patient starts with hand in center then moves to target when it appears. Program records reaction latency (how long to lift hand from the center) and response time (how long it takes to hit target). HIGHLIGHTED PARAMETERS INCLUDE: Number of Stimuli: Quadrant Loading (%) Background Color: Blue, Black or White Stimuli Color: Blue, Red, White or Black Tracer: visual feedback if stimuli is missed Central Fixation: patient needs to identify and recognize central stimuli changed and attend before moving to the next stimuli Central Flash: queues patient that the central stimuli changed Contrast Sensitivity

4 Rotator SINGLE COLOR Same-colored targets on rotator. MULTI-COLOR Multi-colored targets on rotator remain active until hit in a specified order Responses can be hit by Classification (all reds, all whites, all blues) or by Sequence (red white blue). SEQUENCE - Alphanumeric targets will remain on rotator until hit in a specified sequence, normal (i.e. 1 to 10) or reverse (i.e. Z to A). GAP SEQUENCE Alphanumeric targets will remain on rotator but the stimuli have gaps in sequence, normal (i.e. 2, 5, 8, 10, 15) or reverse (i.e. Y, V, Q, M, K, E, C). HIGHLIGHTED PARAMETERS INCLUDE: Tracer: visual feedback if stimuli is missed Central Flash: queue patient that the central stimuli changed Rotator Direction: clockwise and/or counterclockwise Size: large or small rotator 4

5 Rapid Eye Movement SEQUENCE Alphanumeric targets that present randomly across the screen. The patient must hit targets in a specified sequence.

VERBAL Patient does not hit targets, but instead will find and read the word that appears on the screen. COMPETITION Allows for competition between 2 people. Program splits the screen in half with the computer telling the participants which alphanumeric target to hit, and scores a winner upon completion. HIGHLIGHTED PARAMETERS INCLUDE: Quadrant Loading Reverse Sequence Stimuli Persistence Stimuli Type: Letters Upper, Lower or Combination of Upper and Lower, Numbers and Numbers/Letters Visual Field: Central Field, Peripheral Field or Both.

Memory Recall Projects a series of images (words, numbers and/or letters) on the screen at a set speed (0.2 to 3.0 sec) to test visuospatial perception, memory, and learning.

Visually shows or verbally tells the patient the targets a specific order in the middle of the screen, then the patient must hit the targets in that order (or reversed) after the targets are dispersed across the screen. HIGHLIGHTED PARAMETERS INCLUDE: Auto Sequential: adds a target to the end of a successful trial (e.g. Simon) Auto Random: produces a new set and number of targets every trial Metronome The patient must hit one or both targets in rhythm with audio and visual feedback. Program records early (white), on-time (green) and late (red) hits. There are three levels of precision difficulty. Beats per minute can be set from 20 to 100. Target Target 6

LETTER CHARTS 1 Static standard Hart Chart 2 Motion sets the chart in motion 3 Multiple display multiple charts on the screen 4 Puzzle gives the patient a line and row code to find letters to make up a word PERIPHERAL LETTER CHART Visually shows or verbally tells the patient the targets a specific order in the middle of the screen, then the patient must hit the targets in that order (or reversed) after the targets are dispersed across the screen.

8 Visual-Motor 1 Symmetry Split screen and compare right and left side drawings. Draw lines, shapes or letters to assess symmetry. 2 Trace Trace a given shape with a set buffer that provides visual and audio feedback if patient traces off pattern. 3 Replicate Replicate the shape by drawing it on opposite side of screen. 4 Between the Lines Draw within a set of default shapes with audio and visual feedback. 9 GEOBOARDS Match progressively complex line drawings on dots matrices. Exercises can be advanced by asking the patient to flip the pattern horizontally, vertically or rotating 90 degrees. 9

10 Results Results can be reported by activity and graphed over time to chart improvements. Reports can be previewed quickly by scrolling through the history list. 10
