Denyee received her J.D. and M.DR from the Pepperdine School of Law, where she was a fellow at the Straus Instute for Dispute Resoluon. She received a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and was a European Union Fellow at the University of Padua in Padua, Italy in Developmental Economics. Stewart Erin Stewart, 30, is the 40th Mayor of the City of New Britain, Conneccut. She was first elected at the age of 26 in November 2013 and was re-elected to second and third terms in 2015 and 2017, respecvely. She is the youngest mayor in the city s history and the only female mayor of New Britain to be elected to more than one term. Stewart was first elected to public office in 2011 when she served on the Board of Educaon for the Consolidated School District of New Britain. She is a graduate of Central Conneccut State University. Upon taking office in 2013, Mayor Stewart was immediately faced with a $30 million budget shorall. Since then, she has led the implementaon of a five-point plan to turn around the City s finances. These changes have led to growth on the City s Grand List for several consecuve years, a boost in the City s S&P bond rang by four notches to A+, and the creaon of a business-friendly community where developers and new businesses are interested - and confident - in invesng. Mayor Stewart has helped to usher in a new era for New Britain. Mayor Stewart has received numerous awards and recognion for her service and leadership. Interspersing the raffles with the speakers really helped break up the day and kept to a good meframe. I also enjoyed the networking bingo at lunch. It's an overall great event for networking and camaraderie. It's a great event and gets beer every year. Thank you for providing us this opportunity to spend the day together.
