1 Appointment of Adjunct Professor Ceremony Talk : Building services contracting in Hong Kong and in the mainland China: challenges and job perspectives by Prof. C.K. Tsang Prof. C. K. Tsang, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Building Services Engineering, gave a talk on Building Services Contracting in Hong Kong and in the mainland China : challenges and job perspectives on 8 September More than 60 students of the Department of Building Services Engineering attended. Prof. W.K. Chow, Head of the Department of Building Services Engineering, was presenting a Certificate, signed by President Timothy Tong, to Prof. C.K. Tsang, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Building Services Engineering. Prof. C.K. Tsang, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Building Services Engineering, was delivering a talk on Building services contracting in Hong Kong and in the mainland China: challenges and job perspectives Prof. Tsang is the Managing Director of REC Engineering Company Limited, he is responsible for the overall strategic planning, management and direction of the Company. Both in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and other regions as the business demand will take. He had served as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Department of Building Services Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for 7 years in the 1990s. Prof. Tsang graduated with a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from The University Hong Kong in Prof. Tsang is currently the Vice Chairman of the Rehabaid Society. Under the Hospital Authority, he is a member of the Hospital governing committee of Rehabaid Centre. Mr Tsang is a member of The Construction Workers Registration Authority. In addition, he is a co-opted member of committee on construction site safety, and a member of management committee for Voluntary Subcontractor Registration Scheme under the Construction Industry Council. Besides, he serves as the Director of Ying Wa College

2 School Board for over 20 years. He is also the President of the Ying Wa College Old Boys Association. Prof. Tsang has served in many different capacities in the electrical and mechanical contracting area and for the significant ones are: Chairman of the Hong Kong Electrical Contractors Association President for the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Contractor Association for 8 years, which is a constituent member of the functional constituency of Real Estate and Construction Member of the Hong Kong Government Construction Advisory Board from inception to the end Chairman of the Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Association for 6 years Prof. Tsang also served as a member of the Advisory Committee of Corruption Prevention in ICAC.
