LECTURER PROFILE DEC18 EXAM INTAKE DUONG THI THU THUY, F1, CPA Ms. Duong Thi Thu Thuy graduated Master program from National Economics University, majoring in Accounting, Auditing and Analysis. She is also an member and successfully achieved CPA Vietnam as well as Vietnam Valuation Certificate of Ministry of Finance. Since a student, Thuy has achieved many outstanding awards such as Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Scholarship, Amcham Scholarship from American Chamber of Commerce and certificate of merit for outstanding students for both Bachelor and Master Degree by Rector of National Economics University Up to now, she has 7 experience years working in financial and auditing sector for many reputed organisations such as KPMG Vietnam, Vietinbank and Baoviet Holdings. At KPMG, she performed audit fieldwork at many clients in various industries including manufacturing companies and international not-for-profit organisations in Vietnam such as UNDP, Denmark Development Cooperation in the Environment (DCE), etc. She is now Deputy Head of Internal Audit Division of Investment Activities, Internal Audit Block of Baoviet Holdings and in charge of performing internal audit of the holdings and investment activities of its 100% owned subsidiaries. Besides that, she has joined in preparing internal training materials in internal audit and investment activities for the company. With many years of practical experience in auditing and financial field as well as her enthusiasm in teaching and especially her own experience in passing the exams, Thuy strongly expects to help students have the best preparation for F1 program in order to confidently achieve the highest result. 2 Mr. Nguyen Giang Nam, F2 (lecturer) Mr. Nam became a member of in He has passed 13 papers at the first attempts within 16 months. He has been working for KPMG Vietnam for almost 5 years as audit senior. During his job, Mr. Nam has lead an audit team to perform audit field works with a number of high profile / listed companies in different industries such as Honda Vietnam, Masan Resouces Group, Nissan Vietnam, Vinaconex, Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical Ltd. Co Before working for KPMG, Mr. Nam has worked at Vn Direct as an financial analyst that help enrich his knowledge in the financial market. With his extensive knowledge and hand on skills in auditing and accounting together with his enthusiasm, and passion to teacher Mr. Nam will be training and sharing his knowledge, exam techniques to students. Through the training, he aims to help student gain all the important knowledge relating to management accounting to passing the paper as well as apply the knowledge in to practical business situation. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa (PhD), F4 Ms Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa is a PhD holder of Faculty of Law, University of Wollongong, Australia. She is also a member of Lawyer Association of Vietnam. Ms Hoa wrote papers and books related to different aspects of laws. She has also involved in professional researches. Ms Hoa has been lecturing law papers in Ho Chi Minh City University of Law for more than 10 years. She is now the Vice Director of the Center for Legal Research on Human and Citizen Rights and also a senior lecturer of the Faculty of Criminal Law of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. With her deep knowledge in law and also her intensive experience in lecturing, Ms Hoa will help students not only understand laws but also have necessary exam techniques to pass exams. Do Thi Mai Hanh (PhD) Paper: F4 Ms Do Thi Mai Hanh is a PhD holder of Faculty of Law, University of Wollongong, Australia. She completed her Master of Law in Nagoya University, Graduate School of Law, Japan. She has working experience in Kelvinchia & Partnership Law Firm (Singapore), Ho Chi Minh City branch. She has intensive lecturing experience in law papers in Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. She provides training for undergraduate, master and doctoral degree programs. She has involved in professional research and also published law articles in different aspects of laws. 3 Annie Teng, F5 Annie has been lecturing mainly Management Accounting and Financial Accounting subjects over the last 7 years. Apart from lecturing in Malaysia, she has also conducted lectures in Cambodia and China. She has also conducted an seminar for a corporate in Beijing, China. In the early days of her career, she worked as a cost accountant in manufacturing firm which eventually got listed on the KLSE. It was then that she decided to pursue a career as a full time lecturer. Having obtained her qualification through a rigorous routine on selfstudy, Annie understands the obstacles many of her students face and utilised innovative teaching experience shows in her carefully crafted lecturer notes. Phan Dang Phuoc Vinh, F6 MBA Mr. Phan Đ ng Ph c Vĩnh holds the Master of Business Administration from International University as well as gains laws knowledge from laws degree at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. During student time, Mr. Vĩnh achieved many noteworthy achievements: full time scholarship granted by the Ministry of Education, scholarship from the International University to study Master level, etc At present, Mr. Vĩnh is working at Anheuser-Busch InBev with the role of Tax & Treasury Manager for South East Asia (SEA) and New Zealand Pacific Business Unit (part of APAC South). Before that, he has exposure and gained extensive experience in many industries: Retails (Lotte Mart Vietnam), FMCG (Suntory PepsiCo Beverage Vietnam), Tax & Corporate consulting (KPMG Vietnam). Together with building up professional career substantially, Mr. Vĩnh always assures to make positive impact for every firm he works with, especially tax field by involving many big tax projects as well as playing the role of internal tax trainer. With his great passion, strong background and experience in tax field, Mr. Vĩnh is committed to share his knowledge in paper F6, tax insight as well as exam techniques for the student to well prepared and successfully pass F6 exam. Lim Teck Chuan (Ivan) F7, CPA, Bsc. Applied Accounting, Oxfort Brookes University, UK Lim Teck Chuan (Ivan) achieved the qualification in 2004 and obtained a Bachelor degree from Oxford Brookes university from the UK. He began his career in auditing with a reputable member of an international firm where he gained valuable professional and commercial experiences. In addition to the auditing experiences in various industries and services, Ivan also got lots of experiences in financial accounting with several large corporations and public listed companies in Singapore. He possessed the patience and determination to nurture students in developing their interest in financial accounting. Ivan always explains difficult topics in a simple way and shares good stratergies and useful tips to work with excersize and exam questions. 4 Fung Chee Kong, F8 Msc, London School of Economics, UK Mr Fung CK graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) degree and obtained his Masters degree from the London School of Economics, UK. He is a Certified Public Accountant and was an auditor with one of the then Big Eight international public accounting firm before joining the teaching profession in He has taught auditing for the last 15 years in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia and major cities in China. Balwant Singh, F9 CPA (USA), Msc (Finance) Balwant Singh is a Certified Public Accountant (USA) and holds a Masters Degree in Finance. He has taught professional finance courses for the last fifteen years. Apart from his teaching experience, Balwant Singh has over ten years of international practical working experience in financial management and has had exposure to financial and investment analysis, forecasting and accounting. Balwant Singh is a committed professional and has the ability to deliver lectures in a clear and concise manner. He is known to be effective and efficient in his delivery and yet is able to deliver his lectures in a lively manner. He is also friendly and approachable. "Mr Singh is a very good lecturer. Clear in his explanation" P2- Dariusz Bargiel MSc, FCCA Mr Dariusz Bargiel used to work for Deloitte & Touche (D & T) as an auditor. He was involved in auditing of different types of commercial and manufacturing enterprises. Being with D&T he had undertaken and qualified in December 1999 becoming the Member. In 2001, Dariusz joined Accountancy Tuition Center as a tutor, and since 2007 worked as a Business Development Director ATC International Polska. Currently Dariusz Bargieł is employed by Becker Professional Education/ATC International where he is a senior lecturer of financial reporting/ifrs. 5 Dariusz possesses thorough knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting/reporting. He has had more than 17 years intensive experience in training Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Management Accouniting for professional qualifications such as, CIMA, EMBA & CFA. His clients are Arthur Andersen, PwC, KPMG (including preparation of KPMG Partners to P2 exam), Deloitte, Diageo, BAT, Grant Thornton, Mars, Avon, IBM, CapGemini, Electrolux, Amway, Philip Morris, Infosys, ArcelorMittal in different countries such as Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Mongolia, India, Romania. He also involved in Train the Trainers courses. With experience of lecturing and marking F7 & P2, Dariusz will defenitely help students to prepare well for P2 exams. Hua Chia Yee P4 FCCA, CFA Hua is a CFA Charterholder and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA). He is presently the Managing Director of Phoenix Capital Corporation, a private equity firm specialising in investment banking and asset management based in Vietnam. Prior to joining Phoenix, he was the General Manager, Corporate Planning of KBB Resources Berhad, a vermicelli manufacturer listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia for 5 years. He also has 7 years of experience in merchant banking specialising in corporate finance with RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Berhad. Hua has been lecturing professional qualification programs in Hong Kong and Malaysia since 2003, specialising in Financial Statements Analysis, Equities and Portfolio Management. He hasalso been lecturing the program, CFA programme and various finance related subjects in Vietnam, Malaysia, Hongkong, Singpaore and China since then. Chan Tze Kang, P5 (FCCA) Chan has been dedicated to the lectures on Cost and Management accounting as well as Strategic Financial Management for various types of professional accountancy programs including, CAT, CIMA for not less than 15 years. Being internationally exposed, Chan has taught in countries like, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Uganda. Apart from lecturing for the professional programs, Chan is also involved in conducting seminars for the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) on a regular basis.
