4 DEAR LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I welcome all the participants and guests of the XI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum! Welcome Letter International power organizations and transnational corporations, as well as authoritative experts over the years traditionally come to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to discuss the most topical issues of the industry and find the solutions within the framework of the Forum. Since the Republic of Kazakhstan proclaimed independence, it has been a striking example of the stability in the region. It has been showing a coherent and steady progress, and successfully implementing social and institutional reforms. According to the goals and objectives set by the President, our country is now gradually advancing on its path of being included to the list of the most developed and competitive countries of the world. Broadly this success is promoted by the integration processes in which Kazakhstan is involved. International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 "Future Energy" in Astana will soon make it possible to attract the world's best projects and technologies in the fields of energy saving, well-balanced use of traditional and alternative energy sources, and will contribute to the future development of the power industry. KAZENERGY offers an opportunity for its guests and participants to discuss these projects at the Forum. The format makes it possible to maintain a high-level open and constructive dialogue on the international aspects of energy of the future. I wish you all success! 5 DEAR COLLEAGUES, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, On behalf of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I am glad to welcome the organizers, guests, and participants of the XI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum. The upcoming Forum will be dedicated to discussions of global issues in the area of sustainable energy and consideration of new models for establishment of mutually beneficial relations in the market. It will be one of the key events of the International Exhibition EXPO-2017 "Future Energy", in which KAZENERGY Association member companies will take part. Thus, EXPO-2017 will be a demonstration site in the area of future energy sources, and KAZENERGY Forum will be a discussion platform, where state Governments and international organizations, heads and representatives of the global energy businesses will get an opportunity not only to discuss current trends of the international energy market, but also to analyze the previous work experience and set priorities for its further development. In spite of the fact that Kazakhstan has significant deposits of raw hydrocarbons, the country strives to save energy and reduce energy consumption, projects that are being implemented are aimed at sustainable and safe development of the economy, important part of which is the energy sector. Many of such projects that constitute a real technological breakthrough will be presented at EXPO-2017 and KAZENERGY Forum. I am sure that implementation of these projects will promote new economic success in our country. I invite you to take part in these events. 6 DEAR COLLEAGUES AND GUESTS OF THE FORUM, Welcome Letter On behalf of the KAZENERGY Association, I invite you to participate in the XI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum. The KAZENERGY Forum is an international flagship event in the energy sector of the region. It traditionally attracts interest of the countries across the world, international energy organizations, diplomatic missions, Kazakh and foreign energy companies, research institutes and academia. Success and credibility of the Forum are largely owed to participation of powerful policy makers and globally renowned experts in it. Over the years, the largest international organizations, such as IEA, International Energy Charter, IEF, GECF, UNECE, IRENA, as well as transnational oil and gas and energy companies, have been the Forum partners. The XI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum will be held amid the sustainable energy development and "energy equation" solutions of the future. It will actually become one of the key events of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 "Future Energy". Thus, the Forum will make a significant contribution to the common dialogue on sustainable development of the global energy and energy security in the region. It will continue the dialogue initiated in June at the Ministerial Conference "Meeting the Challenge of Sustainable Energy" and The Eighth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development under the auspices of the UN. Such events draw attention of the governments and international organizations to global problems in the field of sustainable energy that need to be solved. In the course of this important dialogue at the Forum, the heads and representatives of the global energy business will discuss the ways for further development of the sector, key challenges for the energy of the future, and optimal strategies of the national and international companies in the field of sustainable development. I am sure that the next KAZENERGY Forum, as before, will attract much interest, initiate up-to-date discussions on the situation in the global and regional energy market and the prospects for the sustainable use of natural resources.
