2 Team Denise Grant Denise Grant focuses on top leadership assignments for corporate and not-for-profit organizations. Based in Washington, D.C., she leads the firm's Legal and Public Policy/Government Affairs Practice and the Association Practice. She is also a member of the firm's CEO/Board Services Practice. Denise has significant experience working with companies and not-for-profit organizations to help them identify leadership solutions. In the corporate sector, she recently recruited Global Heads of Public Policy and Government Affairs to three of the world's largest Companies. Denise's recent work within the not-for-profit area includes working with boards on the recruitment of s and CEOs for large and prominent think tanks and conservation organizations. She has also led searches for the CEOs of significant domestic and international trade associations across a range of sectors, including health care, financial services, technology, energy and communications/media. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Denise had a successful career in the legal, public policy and business arena in Washington, D.C. She practiced law for nearly a decade as an attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and as Assistant General Counsel of a major trade association. During her legal career, Denise represented large, global companies and major trade associations. She was also at Fannie Mae, where she served in a variety of leadership roles. Denise was a legal and legislative counsel in the United States Senate earlier in her career. Denise received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Transylvania University as a business and economics major, and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. 2

3 Team Mirah Horowitz Mirah Horowitz, based in Washington, D.C. is a member of the firm's Corporate Officers and Not- For-Profit Sectors. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Mirah served as the Senior Counsel in the Office of Legal Policy, United States Department of Justice. There, she developed strategy for many projects, drafted regulations, and vetted nominees for the federal judiciary. Previously, she was a member of the Obama administration s transition team for the Department of Veterans Affairs, a Supreme Court Clerk for Justice Stephen Breyer, Chief Counsel for Senator Robert Menendez and Counsel for Senator John F. Kerry. Additionally, she was a part of the Kerry-Edwards 2004 campaign in both in pre-transition planning and advance. Mirah began her career in Los Angeles as a Clerk for Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also served as an Associate with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld LLP. Mirah is the Executive Director and Founder of Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, Inc. Founded in 2009, this rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless animals and educating the community on responsible pet ownership. Since its founding, it saved over 3,800 dogs. Mirah received her B.A., magna cum laude, in public policy and history from Duke University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Duke University School of Law. 3

4 Team Anne Martin Simonds Anne Martin Simonds directs high-profile executive searches for global organizations ranging from large and specialty pharmaceuticals to biotechnology companies, to global not-for-profits, foundations, government and academic institutions. She also oversees executive assessments and advises boards, CEOs and other senior leadership during corporate restructuring, CEO succession planning, and board development. In 2005, Anne incepted and has subsequently led the firm s development of a Global Health practice, the purpose of which was to strategically align the firm s private, not-for-profit and public sector networks. Anne has led several CEO searches resulting in multi-project individual and organizational assessments through the executive team and board. Some of her portfolio includes recruiting CEOs and COOs of major global foundations and public-private partnerships as well as public biotech companies. She has also conducted broader C-suite searches in the international development arena and in private sector life sciences. The other significant portion of her time is spent advising clients on talent solutions in the evolution beyond an original business model as has been the case in the rapidly changing global health arena (i.e., second generation PPPs and PDPs). Anne serves on the firm s professional development committee which reviews the infrastructure of the firm and manages promotions through the partnership. She formerly ran the Washington, D.C. office for the firm. Anne is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Foundation, the Global Citizens Council of the United Nations Foundation, and the Global Health Council. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of Rare Conservation. Anne received her B.A. in biology from the University of Virginia and attended the postgraduate business program at the McIntire Business Institute, University of Virginia. 4

5 Team Mary C. Tydings Mary Tydings leads the firm s Not-For-Profit Sector and conducts assignments primarily for the leadership of various national and international not-for-profit organizations. Based in Washington, D.C., she is also active in the Government Affairs Practice. Mary joined Russell Reynolds Associates in In 1992, she took a leave of absence to assist the Clinton-Gore transition, working as a Search Manager. She continued her work in the White House before returning to the firm in Previously, she held several public relations positions, the latest as Producer of The Larry King Show. Early in her career, she had experience as an editor and reporter for the Mutual Broadcasting System. Mary is a member of the Joseph Davies Foundation and a member of the Board of the Campaign for the Prevention of Teen Pregnancy. Mary received her B.A. from Bowdoin College. 5
