2 Tallgrass Creek is one of 16 communities supported by National Senior Campuses, Inc., (NSC), a not-for-profit organization committed to providing housing, health care (including elder care and nursing care), and other related services to middle income seniors. NSC and its supported organizations are independent of Erickson Living Management. Their relationship is limited to contractual arrangements related to development and management of the communities. 3 National Senior Campuses Tallgrass Creek Board of Directors Georgia Erickson Ms. Erickson is the Director Living in Community at Tallgrass Creek in Overland Park, Kansas and serves on the Community Relations Committee (CRC). She has been a resident at Tallgrass Creek for 3 years, involved in the community governance since the beginning. She previously served 14 years on the Overland Park City Council as President of the Council and Chair of Public Safety. She currently serves on the Police Committee on non-biased racial profiling. She helped found and develop the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and is an active member of the Friends of the Arboretum and Friends of Public Art for the City. Grover Wrenn Mr. Wrenn serves as Interim Chair of the NSC Board, Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee, Chair of the Wind Crest Board and is a member of the newly formed Strategic Positioning and Long Range Planning committee. Mr. Wrenn is a retired entrepreneur and senior executive with 40+ years of experience in health care services, environmental technology, regulatory policy, and occupational health and safety. He serves as Vice Chair of the NSC Board, Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee and Chair of the Wind Crest Board. He also served as chairman of Axolotl, Inc., a health information technology company; president and COO of Safety-Kleen Corp.; CEO of EnSys Environmental Products, Inc.; chairman of Strategic Diagnostics, Inc.; CEO of Applied Bioscience International; and founder and CEO of Environ International Corp. He also served as a trustee of Eckerd College for approximately 25 years. Mr. Wrenn currently serves as a director and vice chair at Nielsen BioScience, Inc., a privately held biopharmaceutical firm based in San Diego. He holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from Clemson University and a Master of Science in public health from the University of North Carolina.
4 James Hayes Mr. Hayes joined the National Senior Campuses, Inc. (NSC) Board of Directors in His past roles have included Chairmanship of the following Advisory Committees: Diversity and Inclusion, Operations and Risk Management, and Audit. Additionally, he served as a member of the Investments Committee. He also chaired the West Region Community Boards from 2014 to In 2018 he was appointed to NSC s Executive Committee. A registered CPA, Mr. Hayes is the former Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is a retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served as Partner in Charge of Minority Recruiting and Retention, and Partner in Charge of Workforce Diversity at Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Hayes holds a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting from St. Joseph s University in Pennsylvania. Jackson Bain Mr. Bain currently serves as Chair of the Vision Advisory Committee and is a member of the Governance and Internal Affairs Committee of NSC. He is also Chair of the Greenspring Village Board of Directors and its Community Relations Committee. Mr. Bain is Chairman and CEO of Bain and Associates, Inc., a public affairs consulting firm. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the National Association of Children s Hospitals. A communication expert and journalist with 30 years of experience, Mr. Bain joined NBC News in the 1970s as a White House and Congressional Correspondent and news anchor. He holds degrees in Journalism and Political Science from Reinhardt University and the University of Georgia.
5 Bruce Beardsley Mr. Beardsley currently serves on the board of NSC and is a member of the Budget and Finance Advisory Committee. He is the chair of the Lantern Hill Community Board and CRC and also serves on the CRC at Brooksby Village. He was a co-founder and served as a principal at Next Step Healthcare, LLC, where he provided senior housing and nursing facility consulting, transactional and valuation services. Previously, he was senior vice president of acquisitions and VP of planning and development at Harborside Healthcare Corporation, serving there for almost 20 years. Mr. Beardsley has served as chairman of the board of assessors for the Town of Medfield, Massachusetts and as a member of the owner/operator advisory board for the National Investment Center (NIC). Mr. Beardsley earned his Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics at Lehigh University and his Master s of Business Administration from Boston University. Barbara Bisgaier Ms. Bisgaier, chair of the Ann s Choice Community Relations Committee (CRC), a member of the Maris Grove CRC and community Boards, retired from her position as Managing Director of Public Financial Management, Inc. with more than 40 years of experience in local government and public finance. She is a member of the Board of Directors of National Senior Campuses and serves as chair of the NSC Audit Committee, as vice chair of the NSC Budget and Finance Committee and as a member of the NSC Strategic and Long-term Planning Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of WHYY, Philadelphia s public radio and television stations where she is a member of the Executive Committee, Chair of the Governance Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. She also serves as a member of the Finance Committee of ECRI, a nationally recognized patient safety organization. Ms. Bisgaier is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and received a master of city and regional planning degree from Rutgers University.
6 E. Michelle Bohreer Ms. Bohreer serves as the Chair of the Boards of Eagle s Trace and Highland Springs, Inc. and serves as a Director on the National Senior Campuses, Inc. Board as well as serves as Secretary for the Board. Michelle chairs the CRC for Eagle s Trace. She also serves as Chair of the NSC Governance and Internal Affairs Committee. Ms. Bohreer is a partner in the law firm of Bohreer & Zucker LLP focused on employment law defense and commercial litigation, and is a licensed CPA. Ms. Bohreer grew up in Houston, graduated with honors from the UH and UH Law Center and loves all things Texas. She serves on a number of non-profit boards and held key volunteer leadership roles with the American Cancer Society, Rotary District 5890 and the H.E.A.R.T. Program. Ms. Bohreer served as the first woman chair of a National College Football Award, chairing the Rotary Lombardi Award. Ms. Bohreer has served on the Highland Springs Board since 2011 and on the NSC Board since Mary Colins Judge Colins was appointed to the National Senior Campuses, Inc Board of Directors effective April 1, She is a member of the PA/NJ regional community boards of Ann s Choice, Maris Grove, Seabrook Village, Cedar Crest Village, and Riderwood. She is also the Community Board Chair and the Community Relations Committee Chair at Riderwood. In 2016 she was appointed to the Lantern Hill Board of Directors. Additionally, she has served as a member of the Governance and Internal Affairs and the Diversity, Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility Advisory Committees of NSC. Judge Colins is law trained. She serves as a Senior Trial Judge in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She also served as the Chairman and a founding member of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Judge Colins has taught Trial Advocacy and Gaming and Casino Law at numerous law schools and universities. She has lectured and taught at American Bar Association and International Association of Gaming Attorneys and Regulators conferences throughout the country as well as continuing legal education programs.
7 Eileen Erstad Ms. Erstad serves as Treasurer of NSC, and as Chair of the Operations and Risk Management Committee, as a member of the Audit Committee, the Budget & Finance Committee, as Chair of the Riderwood Village Board of Directors, as well as serving on the Community Relations Committees of Ashby Ponds and Greenspring Village. She is a senior executive and a Chief Financial Officer in the healthcare, hospitality and financial services industries. Ms. Erstad has developed and implemented strategic plans, growth and reorganization strategies, and also participated in new product development. Her most recent position was Chief Operating Officer for ResortQuest. Her previous positions include Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Symphony Health Services, LLC; and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at PHH Corporation. Ms. Erstad graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola College in Maryland and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Frederick W. Haas Mr. Haas joined the PA/NJ community Boards in 2007, serving as their treasurer until During that period, he also served on the NSC Budget and Finance committee and the NSC Investment committee. In 2011, he became Board Chair of the two New Jersey communities, which lead to his appointment to the NSC Board in In 2015, he became Board Chair of the two Pennsylvania communities; in 2016 the two Massachusetts communities; and ultimately the seven community Northeast region, all of which Fred chaired until March of In his professional career, Fred was a tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, from 1978 until 2001, when he retired. From 1972 until 1982, he served in various positions on the professional staff at Coopers & Lybrand. After graduating from Penn State with a degree in accounting in 1966, Fred served as an aircraft maintenance officer in the USAF until 1971.
8 Zina Jacque Reverend Jacque was appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Senior Campuses in 2017, and as the chair of the Diversity Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility Advisory Committee in 2018, Rev. Dr. Zina Jacque comes to the work of senior living and wellness from a community engagement background. She is the senior pastor at the Community Church of Barrington, Illinois. Previously she served on the staffs of multicultural, urban, and suburban churches and has done extensive work in the areas of higher education, counseling, and faith based not for profits. Dr. Jacque sits on the Board of Directors of the American Baptist Churches USA, JourneyCare Palliative Care and Hospice Center and the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs. Additionally, she served as a western regional director of NSC, beginning in Dr. Jacque holds a doctorate of theology and a master of divinity degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Boston University, an M.A. from Columbia University, and a B.A. from Northwestern University. Carolyn Markey Ms. Markey currently serves on NSC. She is a member of the NSC Vision Committee as well as the Governance and Internal Affairs committee. She is the chair of the BBV Community Board and CRC. Ms. Markey was president and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of America (VNAA) from 1997 to During her tenure, she led the 400 visiting nurse agencies throughout the country in the areas of advocacy, national image, clinical education, and regulatory compliance. Ms. Markey has 30 years experience in home health and community care in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Prior to VNAA, she was the CEO of Special Care Home Health Services, a $100 million division of Advantage Health. She served on the board of Myomo, Inc., and was a member of Leadership 18 and National Healthcare Coalition in Washington, D.C. She is a registered nurse and graduate of North Shore Community College.
9 Willow Pasley Ms. Pasley has served on the Board of National Senior Campuses, Inc. (NSC) since She concurrently served on the Boards of the New England communities, where she chaired the Audit Committee and served on the Budget & Finance Committee. Since 2016, she also served as a Board member of the Pennsylvania/New Jersey communities. She currently chairs the NSC Investment & Treasury Advisory Committee. In 2017, she was appointed to serve on the newly-created Long Range Strategic Planning Committee. Formerly, she chaired the NSC Governance Advisory Committee for three years. With twenty years of experience in the banking industry, she is a seasoned finance and management professional. In her role as Executive Vice President of BayBank, she managed a commercial lending group of 15 staff members that specialized in lending to not-for-profit organizations, including continuing care retirement communities, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities. Ms. Pasley earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York and her MBA from Simmons College in Boston, MA. Stephanie Reel Ms. Reel is a Director on the National Senior Campuses Board and serves on the NSC Operations and Risk Management Committee. She is also a member of the Community Relations Committee of Oak Crest Village and Riderwood Village. Dr. Reel is the Chief Information Officer for all divisions of the Johns Hopkins University and Health System. She was appointed Vice Provost for Information Technology and CIO for the Johns Hopkins University in January She is also Vice President for Information Services for Johns Hopkins Medicine, a post she has held since Ms. Reel is a member of HIMSS, CHIME, the Healthcare Advisory Council, the American College of Medical Informatics, and EDUCAUSE. She serves on the advisory board of Health Care Information. Ms. Reel graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in information systems management and holds a M.B.A. from Loyola College in Maryland.
10 Arnold Speert Mr. Speert is chair of the Cedar Crest Board and Community Relations Committee. He is also a member of the Lantern Hill and Seabrook Community Relations Committees. He serves as a member of both the NSC Investment and Trust Advisory Committee and the NSC Vision Advisory Committee. Dr. Speert served as the sixth president of William Paterson University from 1985 until his retirement in July He has served on the boards of seven nonprofit institutions, two of which he chaired. In addition, he has served on the boards of the State Farm Indemnity Company, The Ramapo Bank, and the Broadway Bank and Trust Company. Dr. Speert also was a founding commissioner of the Passaic County (New Jersey) Improvement Authority. He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Princeton University and his areas of expertise include institutional governance, institutional community building, and diversity.
