Now, in this particular video, we re going to cover the Method Overview and the idea behind this video is to give you a- we ll call it a bird s eye view or a 20,000 ft. overview of what the method is. That way when we start to get into the detailed trainings, you ll have a bigger picture idea of what we re trying to accomplish. Now, that being said, we do want to make sure that you ve watched the welcome video first or the introduction video. It s really important to watch that video first because that video gives you a full breakdown of the member area, how you need to proceed through the training, et cetera. So if you haven t watched that video, stop this video now, go back, watch the welcome or introductory video first- very important. When you re done with that, come back to this video and we ll continue. Now, if you ve already watched the video, the welcome video, you are in the right spot, okay? So let s take a look at this method overview and get into the details. Now, one thing I do want to say before we start here is that I don t want you to overthink this method, okay? It s actually very simple. Yes, we have a lot of detailed training videos for you; that s just to ensure that you make the most money possible and avoid any mistakes that we made initially, but the bottom line is do not overthink this method, okay? It s very, very simple. It s just a couple of things going on. The first thing is we re going to buy a textbook from an Amazon third party seller, at a low price, so we re looking for a good deal here and we ll talk about what that means later, but just for now, all you need to know is we re going to be buying books [00:02:00] from third party sellers, most of the time used, sometimes new, at a low price, okay? So we ve got a good deal on a book. Then we re going to take that book and trade that book in to Amazon at a higher price than we paid through their trade-in program. Okay? We ll cover their trading program here in just a minute. And the idea here is we re just going to pocket the difference. It s really that simple. So again, do not overthink this process. It s very, very easy. We re going to buy a book for cheap and then we re going to turn around as soon as we receive that book, send it in to Amazon through their trade-in program and get a higher price for it than what we paid for the book and we re going to pocket that difference. It s really that simple, okay? 2 P a g e

3 So let s talk into a little bit of detail as far as what is the Amazon trade-in program? How does it work, what does it do? Well, the trade-in program actually lets you trade in all kinds of different items that are eligible such as textbooks, of course, electronics, video games, DVDs, more and the way Amazon pays you is through an Amazon Gift Card. Now, we ll cover the Gift Card in a little bit, but basically your trade-ins are sent with free shipping, so when you send something in to Amazon, they re going to give you a shipping label to print out that s prepaid so you don t have to worry about that. So you print out the label, you stick it on your item, you send it in to Amazon and as soon as they receive it and inspect it to make sure it s actually what you said it was and not a pile of coal or whatever, then you re going to receive your Gift Card. Okay? And your money right there in your account. So it s pretty cool. So the trade-in program if you want more details on that, you could find it at amazon.com/trade-in and you could see there s all kinds of different categories. Now just as a quick side note, this is a great way if you ve got some old phones laying around or [00:04:00] movies or games or whatever it may be laying around your house, the Amazon trade-in is a really quick way to get a lot of money for that used stuff that you re not even using. So just a side note, we ve used it multiple times, it works great. So anyway, lots of different opportunities in the trade-in program. We re, of course, in this particular video series, we re going to be focusing on textbooks. So, now that you understand the basic process, we re just buying a used book for cheap or possibly new for very cheap, trading it back in for a higher price to Amazon and Amazon s going to pay us. That s all we re doing. Now that you understand that, let s look at a specific example, okay? So all we did to get to these listings, we just went to amazon.com, we typed in the search box textbooks and we re going to look at a couple of examples here. Okay, so if we look at this first example here, The Art of Public Speaking, we can see a lot of different prices here, but here s where we want to focus. We want to focus on this little section here where it says, $44.55 used and new, okay? This is where we are going to buy our books and find our deals that we re going to eventually trade in, okay? So remember that number. All right, $ All right? Now, if we look at this same listing, if we move over to the right just a little bit here, we will see the number $73.70 and you can see here, it says, Trade in yours for an Amazon Gift Card up to $ Okay? So we see, just from the main listing here, there are books available for $44.55 that we can trade in for $73.70, so what does that look like? Well, let s just a take a look at the numbers real quick. That would give us a $ P a g e

4 profit. Not too bad. Here s the cool thing about that: a lot of times you saw that there were [00:06:00] multiple books, used and new available. A lot of times there are more than one of the same book available that you can buy cheap and trade- in. So let s just say there were a few sellers available and we found 10 of these books, that would be $300 profit right there, boom, with one book. Pretty huge. So that s all we re doing. We re clicking on that used section, buying books from there which are most of the time third party sellers and then we re trading them back in through Amazon. Again, we ll go through the detail, don t worry about that, but the bottom line is, that s how it works, you re going to make, on this particular example, $29.15 a book. Very easy, zero risk. Pretty awesome. So let s talk about the opportunity with this so you can get a better idea of what s available. So as I already mentioned, a lot of times you can buy more than one of the same book, so you can multiply your earnings very, very quickly. So the previous book we just talked about, we could buy for $44.55, but our trade-in value was $73, however there might be books that we can buy for cheaper than $73. Some of them might be 50 bucks, some of them might be 55, we might buy a few for 60, but the simple part of that is, we order them very quickly from Amazon, we trade them all in and we get paid immediately. So a lot of times there s definitely more than one of the same book available and we ll talk about how to find those, of course, as we go along, but that multiplies your earnings very, very quickly which is awesome. On top of that, as you guys know, there are tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of textbooks on Amazon, of course, but thousands of books available that have profit potential, so the other great thing about that is textbooks change all the time, so sellers are selling, they re putting up new books, new books are available [00:08:00] of course, especially during ends and beginnings of semesters, college semesters, lots of books available. But opportunities pop up and exist every single day, so as one of the things you need to note down here, we suggest you check this on a daily basis or sometimes multiple times a day to find really good deals. So check often because the inventory changes very, very quickly on Amazon and there are huge amounts of textbooks available. Okay? So the opportunity is very big there. Also moving beyond Amazon, you actually have an opportunity to purchase from sites outside of Amazon. Remember, with our example we re getting paid $73 a trade-in, so we might be able to go to these other websites as long as we can find that book other places, for less than $73, we re going to be able to profit. So you can absolutely take books that you buy outside of Amazon or you get other ways from used stores, library 4 P a g e

5 sales, whatever it is, you can take those books and trade those in to Amazon too, so it doesn t just have to be Amazon to Amazon. You can buy from another seller anywhere. As long as you have the book, you can send it in to Amazon. So lots of opportunities to purchase from sites outside of Amazon as well, even allowing you to scale even higher and higher, okay? So you could see here that profit potential is absolutely huge with this method, all right? More than one book of the same kind, tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of books available on Amazon and you can purchase books outside of Amazon and still do the method and we ll talk about that. So that means it all adds up to a huge profit potential. Now, that s fine and dandy, there are lots of opportunities out there that have huge potential, however, this is one of the opportunities out there or the methods that is going to provide [00:10:00] you with zero risk, so that s very hard to find. Well, what do I mean by zero risk? Well, you re not just buying the books in hopes that they will someday eventually sell, and crossing your fingers, okay? It doesn t happen that way. When you buy the book and you trade it in to Amazon, it s over. Amazon buys the book from you right then, as soon as they receive it. You re locking in that that trade in price which we ll talk about. So really you have no risk. If you send in a book and Amazon says, hey, you sent in the wrong book or, Oh my gosh, you missed this. There are 75 pages missing or something like that, then no big deal. Amazon will ship that book back to you at no cost to you, okay? It s still on their dime, so you shipped it to them on their dime, you get it back on their dime and then you can just turn around and give it back to the seller and say, Hey, Mister Seller that I bought from, Mister Seller, this book was missing 75 pages. Sorry, I can t buy it. Okay, no problem and then you get your refund there, so this is one of those things where you re padded, almost every wall is padded for you, so you really don t have any risk which is awesome, okay? So that s the overview and the opportunity, let s talk about what s to come. We, of course, have In-Depth Training on all of this. We re going to talk about how you install and use the software extension that s going to sped up your process, find the opportunities for you, it does a lot of really cool things that you re going to see. We re going to talk about how to find profitable books, exactly what to look for. We re going to detail the trade-in procedure for you so that you know exactly what to do, what you click on Amazon, what you print out, how you label it, how you quickly ship it off very easily at Amazon s expense. We ll detail all of that for you. We re going to then talk about once you get paid, how do you use the Gift Cards? There are multiple ways you can use those Gift Card. We re going to show you some cool tricks there. Also, traps to avoid. This is really important because there are a lot of- we ll call them got-you s in this 5 P a g e

We re also going to talk about, as I mentioned earlier, the third party sites that you can also purchase books from, how we use those, what sites we use, where you can go to find textbook deals that you can use to trade in to Amazon, and of course, much, much, much more. We re going to get into great detail, we re going to leave nothing out, so that we can ensure and pretty much guarantee that if you buy the right book at the right price, you re going to be able to trade it in for Amazon profits which is fantastic, right? 8 Okay, guys, in this video we re going to talk about how you can make an extra 5% profit on every book that you purchase. Okay, so this is a good thing to do in the beginning before you start actually buying books because it s also one of those things that you ll forget about as you go along and you re going to miss out on 5%, so our suggestion is that you go ahead and do this now or in the beginning before you start actually making purchases of books and doing the trade-ins. Okay, so how are we going to make an extra 5% on every single book? And I know 5% may not sound like a lot but when you re doing a lot of volume, it s going to be a significant amount of money for you. Okay, so how do we do it? Well, it s actually super simple. All we re going to do is sign up for the Amazon store card. Okay? The Amazon store card gives you 5% cash-back on every Amazon purchase that you make and that s going to, of course, include the books that you buy on Amazon to then trade in. So basically you re going to instantly make 5% more profit with zero extra effort, okay? You do this one time, you sign up for the card, you set your Amazon account up that you re using to purchase the books, you set that account up to utilize your store card as your default or primary payment method, and once you do that, you just get that 5% back without even thinking about it, okay? So how do you do this really simple? You re going to go sign up and we ve got links set up for you. Two things: you need a prime account to get the store card. If you do not have a prime account, you need to sign up for a prime account first. Once you have prime you can then sign up for the Amazon store card, okay? So that s the first thing. There is another card you can take advantage of as well though. This is the Amazon Rewards Visa card. Now, this one s cool because as soon as you sign up for it and get approved, you re going to get $70 instantly. You re going to get a $70 Gift Card instantly loaded into your amazon.com account as soon as you re approved, which is awesome. Now, the downside to this card is it s only 3% cash-back at Amazon. Okay? It s not five. So here s my recommendation. This is what we do, this is what I would suggest you do. Sign up for the store rewards card. Go ahead and use that for your 5% back when 2 P a g e

Now, this card also has a couple of other perks aside from just getting you $70 instantly for free is 2% cash-back at restaurants, gas stations and drug stores which is cool and 1% back on all other purchases, so it s a 1% cash-back card across the board, 2% gas and restaurant and grocery and drug store and 3% back on Amazon. And then you click on Amazon Store Card and this is going to allow you to determine if you want the Promotional Financing which of course, you don t, you want to click on Earn 5% Cash-back Every Day, okay? So click on 5% Cash-back Every Day. That will ensure that you get your 5% back with your Amazon Store Card. Now, you could also set this up in Your Account to be your primary credit card, right? So you ll want to do that as well. That way every time you buy something, you ll automatically get that 5% back, which is awesome. Okay, guys? So grab these cards and we ll see you in the next video. 12 Now it s time to actually install the software that s going to make it a lot easier for you to spot to opportunities and profit with the method. So first thing is, the software is actually a Google Chrome extension. Now what that means is you, of course, have to have Google Chrome, the browser, installed on your system. So if you do not have that, you can get the extension from google.com/chrome, that s c-h-r-o-m-e and just follow the download instructions there. They ll be a download button. Or you can just type in download Google Chrome into the Google search engine and you ll find it very easily. So go ahead, download and install that if you don t already have it because we re going to have to use the Chrome browser to take advantage of the software, okay? So once Chrome is installed and after you have it completely installed, you re then going to want to click on the Download Extension link in the menu, here in the member area. So they ll be a link for you in the menu to download the extension. So you re going to see two things on the download extension page, okay? You re going to find the link to actually download the extension or the application from the Chrome store. You re also going to find a license key for you there. Now, once you download and install the extension, it s going to ask you to activate your extension with a license key. That s the license key you re going to need so you ll- two things on that download page: the link to get the download itself and the license key that you re going to need. Okay, so without further ado, what I think we should do now is actually just install it. You can watch the walkthrough, kind of an over the shoulder [00:02:00] installation so you can see each step. So let s go ahead and move over to the Chrome store now and do an installation demo. Okay, so once you click the download extension link, you re going to have another link there to download the software from Chrome store. So you re going to end up on this page. Really simple, all you need to do is click add to Chrome. Now, again, you have to be doing this in the Chrome browser, of course. I think that goes without saying. So visit this link in the Chrome browser, you click add to Chrome and it s going to ask you to add the extension. So we ll say, Yes, please add the extension. Boom. And now it says, TextBook Money has been added to Chrome and you can use the extension by clicking on the icon et cetera, et cetera. So here it is right here. You should see in your Chrome browser and this is the button or the icon we re going to click to utilize the software. So it s really as simple as that. Now, the next piece is actually activating the software. So you re going to click on the extension and it s going to ask you to enter the license key. Now, again, remember that license key is on the download page that s in the member area. So go back to the 2 P a g e

13 member area and the download extension page, copy that license key right here, paste it in and then click on activate license and you ll be good to go. It will activate and you ll be able to use the extension. So it s as simple as that. Just install Chrome, utilize Chrome to click on the download link, click on add to Chrome and then paste in your license key. 15 All right, welcome to the next video. This particular video it s time to get excited because this is where we actually start to put into practice the first method of putting some money in your pocket. So without further ado, let s get straight to it. Now, the first thing before we get into the exact method, you re going to want to ensure that you have the Chrome extension installed. If you have not done that, go back to the video about installing the extension, follow the process, make sure it s installed and ready because we re actually going to use it for the first time here in just a minute, okay? So what is this method all about? This is the Amazon to Amazon method, we ll call it. So really simple as we explained earlier, we re going to use the extension- you re going to see in just a minute- we re going to find books on Amazon from third party sellers, at a low price, we re going to buy them, we re going to take those books, ship them back in to Amazon at a trade-in value which is going to be for a higher price, we re going to pocket the difference. So super simple. So we re going to call this Amazon to Amazon because we re buying from Amazon- well, a third party seller on Amazon most of the time and then we re trading it back in through Amazon s trade-in program. So everything happens on Amazon. So what are we going to do? Here s what we re going to do. We re going to search for the key word textbook or textbooks plural in the search box there on Amazon. We re going to do that live here in just a minute. We ll do that together. And then we re going to use the left-hand column to see more categories and books because the way the extension works, is it s page by page basis. So I want to show you guys how to navigate the different sections and categories to get the most or find the most [00:02:00] deals, I should say. So what we re going to do after we figure out the different categories, we re going to start browsing through them and using the extension and finding deals. So at this point, let s just head over to Amazon and start looking for some deals. We ll show you guys the entire process, so you know exactly what you need to do to start making some quick cash. 2 P a g e

16 Okay, we re here at Amazon now, so the first thing we want to do is use the search box and type in textbooks. It ll do a search. You can type in textbook or textbooks, whatever, that s typically how we browse to it, but those two different terms, the plural and non-plural, will give you different results, typically. So the way the extension works, it s on a page by page basis, so any time we want to analyze the books on a page, whether it s this page or you ll see, there s what we call the second page here in a minute, we re going to analyze. You simply click the icon up here for the TextBook Money extension, real simple. So we ve browsed, we know we have some textbooks on this page, and we re going to do some analysis. So let s click the button and a few things happen. Okay? So first, it s going to show you the Total Net Profit Opportunity On This Page. So if you got all these books, how much could you make from this particular page? And you can see here, $406. That s it s a quick $400, right? So 406 on this page. That s the first thing. The next thing you re going to notice is that any books that are not profitable are actually deleted from the page or they re hidden from you, so you don t have to bother with scrolling through a bunch of books that aren t going to make you any money, okay? So that s the next thing that happens. The third thing that happens you ll see, of course, we put a border around it and a checkbox so you can easily see, Okay, this book is profitable [00:04:00] and also another thing that s done is Net Profit After Trade-In and it gives a dollar value. So if you were to take advantage of this particular book, you would make $11.95, for example. This book you d make 49, this book you would make 140. So this is just a quick way to go through because if a book might only make you, let s say 25 cents, you may not want to mess with it. So this gives you a number and an idea of how much it s possible to make. Now, the other thing you will notice, let s take this book for example, you ll see here the used and new pricing is as low as $12 and the trade-in price is 37. So $37 minus 12 isn t 140, so where are we getting 140? Really simple. We re getting that from the rest of the opportunities on what we call page two or the used and new page. All right? So just a quick recap on what we call Page One Analysis. Then we re going to move to drilling in a little bit further to each book, okay? So you simply search and we re going to talk about how to get different categories and stuff here in just a minute, but you search for textbook or textbooks. Once you have results here on the page, you click the button, it will analyze them, it s going to wipe out or hide the books that are not profitable, so you don t have to bother with those. It s going to put a border and a check 3 P a g e

17 by each profitable book, so it stands out for you and separates it from the book below it. then it s going to tell you how much money you can make with that particular book, it s going to give you a total for the entire page or all of the books on this page. So that s what s happening here on the first page. We ll talk about this button that we add later, okay? That will be part of Method Number Two, all right? So now let s talk a little bit about drilling into the second page for a book or the used and new link [00:06:00] for a book. So let s just take this one, for example. So what we want to do is we want to click on the used and new pricing to see a listing of all of the books that are available that we might be able to make money on. Now, remember, the tradein value for this particular book is $37, so let s take a look at what s available. So when we click on this page, again, you re going to get a listing of books and it s going to give you a lot of cool information, of course, right? It s going to give you the pricing, the condition, and we re going to talk about condition a little bit later. There s also a condition guide you can download, but for now we want to analyze this page as well. So the extension works on this page too, so we click this icon again and you re going to notice, very similar to what happens on the first page, it s going to give you potential profits on this particular page for all the books. It s going to wipe out the books that are not profitable. It s going to border and put a check on the ones that are profitable and it s going to give you a net profit on that specific book, okay? And you ll notice, normally the way these are sorted are by price, so a lot of times, your most profitable books are going to be on the top and it s going to decrease in profitability as you go down, okay? So the next thing I want to quickly cover and I want to do that now because this book is a great example of that, you ll notice that all the way down the page it looks like we have a lot of profitability. So it s possible that there are actually other books on page two that could make us more and one of the ways we can be hinted at that, you ll remember from page one, the total profit potential for this book was more than $119, okay? So that means while we only found 119 on this page, that must be on page two, there are some more opportunities. So let s just do that, again, the [00:08:00] software works or the extension works on a page by page basis, so let s click on page number two and run the software again and you ll notice that we found another $37 on the next page, okay? So that s just something to be aware of. You can browse these pages and a lot of times there are deals past page one. So I don t want you to miss out on opportunities just because you didn t click past page one. So if we click on page three, let s see if we can find even more deals. So again, there s a couple of more deals on page three. Obviously since there are only two 4 P a g e

18 results here, that means page four isn t going to find us any profitability and we re already down to just a dollar a book, so we don t really care much about that, right? So let s go back to the first page. We ll run the extension again. So like I said, we re going to talk about condition because some of these books may not be in good enough condition for us to actually send in, okay? And we ll talk about all of that and why. But you ll also notice this little remove button here. So if we do a little research, and we say, Okay, this one has water damage and we don t want to send anything in to Amazon that s got water damage. So this book isn t going to work for us. A way to keep this easily organized for yourself is to just click the remove button, boom, and it removes that particular book, okay? So we can go, Okay, well this one looks pretty good, acceptable, that one looks pretty good. Let s see if there are any others that we could disqualify. Let s just say for example, this particular one had water damage or it was missing a front and back cover or something like that, so we didn t want it, so this one for $4.71, we need to remove it, so we remove it, boom, and it goes away. This way you can go through and keep organized [00:10:00] on which ones you want to purchase. So if we want to find for example this particular book, it s like, Okay, here, let s make a quick $21 we add this to cart and we move to the next one. Yes, we ll take this one, 17, add to cart. Add to cart. This one had damage, remove and this is how you can keep it organized. So the extension is literally as simple as that, guys. You just click the button when you want to analyze something on the page. It works for your initial results and it works for your secondary results here or page number two when you re actually looking at specific listings, okay? So let s go back to the very first page again and I m just going to do it this way: let s just search for textbooks again. I want to show you guys a couple of other tricks. Now you ll notice when you just do this generic search, if you scroll down to the bottom, you re only going to get 20 pages worth of results, okay? So let s first talk about this little paging trick you can use, okay? So I want to show you guys this: if you pay attention to this URL here at the top, when we click on a new page, let s take note of what happens to this URL. So let s click to page two. You ll notice a little part here in the URL says, Page=2. So if you guys are looking for a quick way to skip to page 19 or page 18 or whatever, in this case let s just skip to a page here. Let s say page eight. This is going to take us to page eight, all right? And let s do a search with the extension and so it found $163 on page eight, okay? So that s just a quick paging trick because once you get to some of these other categories that have more pages, you might want to use the [00:12:00] paging trick to skip through and get down to the last pages. 5 P a g e

19 So basically what you re going to do with this strategy, you re going to search for textbook or textbooks. You can run the extension and again, because it s a page by page basis, you re going to want to crawl every page. So let s just go through- let me show you what happens as you go through. I want to show you what happens if there aren t any profitable books on a page because you will get to pages where that happens. So this is page one, we ll run it, okay, we found at this point $416 worth of books. Let s go to page two, page two another $289. Let s try to get to a page that doesn t have any profitable books. So this is what s going to happen when you find a page that doesn t have any profitable books: no trade-in opportunities found on this page, right? So you can continue to browse through the different pages and what you re going to find are trade-in opportunities and profit opportunities way, way, way deep. So it s important to scroll through every single page in every category and start pulling out the deals. We ve found another 20 bucks there, another 163 there and you just continue on through the process, clicking the next page, finding deals and clicking on- there s another 189, see, we re all the way through to page nine and we re still finding $190 worth of trade-in opportunities. So again, you re going to find them, you ll click on used and new, you ll run the extension again and find more trade-in opportunities, okay? Again, we ll talk about how to- which books are good, which books aren t before you add them to your cart, okay? So that s the basic concept. You browse through every page, you hit the button, you find opportunities, you drill down into those opportunities on the used and new link to start actually purchasing the books you want to make [00:14:00] profit on. Okay, now, you also now know the page trick as well, but speaking of pages, you see here there are only 20 pages when you do a generic search. We want to get to more pages, we want to find more books. There are millions of books on Amazon. So let s really dig in and find some more. So here s what you can do, a couple of tricks here. When you type in textbooks you ll see this left-hand column here has different category listings and you can click on See More, which is one way, you can click on any of these specific link and they are going to give you a lot more results and you ll then scroll through all of the pages on these categories. These categories are going to give you a lot more than 20 pages. So for example, let s just click on Schools and Teaching and scroll down, you ll notice they give you 100 pages in this particular category. So again, it doesn t matter what category you re in, you can click the button and you could run it, so there s $509 worth of profit in this particular section, okay? 6 P a g e

20 Now, another little trick I like to use to get the most categories available, if we go back Actually let s just do this from the beginning, okay? Let s just click on Amazon, let s type in textbooks, to show you guys how to get to the most possible categories. So instead of clicking See More here, if you click on Books, it s going to give you a big list and you click on See More, it s going to give you an even bigger list. You can see all these different categories are available to browse through and you could see tons and tons This category has 158,000, 177,000, 400,000, okay? So you can go through and start to pick different categories which is pretty cool. So let s see. Let s pick another category. Let s pick Business and Money for example. [00:16:00] All right, Business and Money, we ll run the extension. Another $582 here on the first page of Business. And again, you re going to want to go through every single page. There are 100 here, see? So you could see the opportunity here is massive, it s almost limitless. Now, again, when you click on a large category, you can also then start drilling down into individual categories because you re only going to get up to 100 pages on the main categories. So you may have to start drilling down to subcategories as well. So if we go back to Books, See More, we can click on- I don t know- let s click on Reference for example. Now, sometimes there s going to be some overlap because sometimes a Reference book, for example this one, will also appear, of course, in the Biology sections. So there are some overlap, but click on this and we found almost $600 worth of profit, boom, just like that. Okay, so the idea is really simple. You re going to type in textbooks, you re going to browse through as many textbooks as you can using the generic search, but also individual categories. You re going to use the extension on every page to pull out every single potential profit book you can find, okay? Then you re going to drill down into each textbook as part of that process to find individual items or individual books that you want to purchase for profit. Pretty simple. So that s it, guys, don t overcomplicate it. Basically you re just browsing to pages and clicking the analyze button. When you find an opportunity, drill down into that particular book and see how many of those books you can buy. Remember a couple of important things: yes, the extension works on a page by page basis which means sometimes on a listing page like this there might be more than one [00:18:00] page worth of profitable books. Don t cut yourself short and not click on page two, three, four, making sure that you ve got all of the profitable opportunities, okay? Also, the next tip, don t forget, quick way to skip through pages is to use the URL address bar and just change the page equals. The next tip is make sure that you are browsing through categories, subcategories, and sub-subcategories ensuring that you re finding the most possible profit. If you do this, you are going to find thousands of dollars of opportunities that you can cash in on. All right? 7 P a g e

21 So that s it, guys. That s Method One. You could see here, we re buying from these Amazon third party sellers, we re trading them back in through the Amazon program. So that s pretty much it, guys. Simple extension, simple process. Now let s move to the next part in a game which is talking about what do you do after you found some profitable books? How do we know for sure a book is going to work? What do we do with condition and then actually purchasing? So let s move to the next part of the training, we ll see you guys in the next video. 23 Okay, now it s time to talk about Book Condition. This is a really important part of the method and being able to profit the most, okay? And a lot of people we have seen are not utilizing this kind of- we ll call it grading system properly. So let s talk about this. First, I want to let you guys know you can download the Condition Guide book that s going to be available on this page or in another menu. Make sure you get that downloaded, there s going to be specific information in there from Amazon and bullet points that you can quickly reference, so if you want to print it out and have it handy as you re going through books, it s just a nice thing to have. So feel free to download that, but the bottom line is condition is important because when you re searching for deals on Amazon, to trade in, the book has to meet minimum condition requirements before Amazon will accept it as a trade-in. So if you buy a book and you send in a hunk of junk to them that s absolutely terrible and it s missing covers and pages and it s burned in a fire and there s water damage, they re not going to give you trade-in value for that. So it s important to understand, okay, what s acceptable, what s not acceptable and how does this work, okay? So probably the easiest thing- there are, of course, two groups of conditions, right? There s the conditions that are acceptable and we will show you those and you can see that in the Condition Guide, but then there are also conditions that are unacceptable. So let s just focus on the ones that are going to rule out a book for us because these are really the important ones when you re scrolling down, looking at book conditions on the listings page to determine, Okay, am I going to buy this book or not? Really what s going to determine that is do we see anything that s going to cause Amazon to reject this? [00:02:00] So let s focus on that for now. So Book Condition Rejected items, it would be like this. So one thing to look at, some of these textbooks are what they call loose-leaf or loosepaper, some will refer to them as. What that means is they ve just taken- basically it s pieces of paper. Sometimes they will put them in a three-ring binder, but that is not a bound book, okay? Amazon is giving you trade-in value on bound books, not a stack of copy paper, okay? So if the book says loose-leaf or three-ring binder bound or anything of that nature that would indicate, This is not an actual bound book then you want to remove that item from your list. You want to mark that book off, okay? So no loose-leaf books. 2 P a g e

24 If it s a library copy or an instructor edition, which could be a custom edition book, so library copies are typically marked library copy, not for resale, so if it s got something on it that says library copy no good. Custom edition books can be instructor editions, so if it s an instructor edition, that s also no good. Those are also typically marked not for resale, okay? So no loose-leaf, no library copies, no instructor editions, no custom edition books. Sometimes a custom edition will have a specific- will be made for a specific school, so if it s made for a specific school, that, of course, is no good either, okay? So those are important things to take note of that pop up often when looking at textbooks. Also water damage. If it s got water damage, they re not going to accept it, all right? Broken spine or binding, so if it s torn apart and broken, they re not going to accept it. A little side note here, we have [00:04:00] sent in books that I would say are questionable on spine quality and binding, like it s, It s kind of ripped, but and Amazon has accepted it, so you can be kind of aggressive with this stuff, all right? But broken or binding, you want to mostly avoid. If they have torn or taped covers, so Amazon is big on the covers, all right? You need to make sure that the covers are intact because they are going to check that for sure. If the cover front or back is bad, it s not going to work, they re going to reject it, so be careful with that. If there s tape on it or if it s torn or missing a cover, it s not going to work. The next one is again, one of those things where you can be a little more aggressive with it. If it s got missing, torn or loose pages. Okay, we have sent in books that had small tares on a couple of individual pages and it was still accepted. A lot of times they don t go through every single page making sure the book is not missing an individual page or it doesn t have one page that s torn, so these are things you can kind of be a little aggressive on, but if it s bad, Amazon s not going to accept it. If it s got burns, fire, smoke damage, so water damage, smoke or fire damage is a nogo. And odor, no-go. A lot of times odor comes from- it s going to be water damage or burns or fire typically, so it s going to have a really bad musty smell which if it s got water damage or it s going to have smoke damage, it s going to smell like smoke, so that s a no-go either. Or if it s just generically marked Not for Resale, no good, all right? Now again, remember these sort of things are up for interpretation, they re subjective. We like to err on the side of being too aggressive because a lot of times we ll go, Man, this book has a couple of individually torn pages they ll still accept it, [00:06:00] okay? But this is just a general guideline. But for sure, no loose-leaf, they will never accept that. Never accept library copies, they will never accept instructor editions and they will 3 P a g e

25 never accept custom edition books. That s never going to happen. Water damage, it would have to be very minimal, broken spine it will have to be very minimal, covers have to be intact and working, so you guys get the idea. This is really going to be the list you re going to focus on when you start to weed out books and say, Okay, well, I m not going to go with that book. Okay? Now, again, I m going to emphasize this because it s important: a lot of people that start this method out aren t aggressive enough, right? They err on the side of, This says it s got damage to pages or it s got pages that have highlighting or something small like that and they won t buy the book. Well then, they re missing out on profit, typically. A lot of times Amazon will accept it. So here s the deal. If the book is rejected by Amazon, they re going to send it back to you at their cost, okay? So this is why you want to be aggressive. You can send it in to Amazon, if they reject it, you can then just turn around and return it to the seller you bought it from, especially if you bought it through Amazon. You know how Amazon is with returns. They re return-happy. So you can send back almost anything and force the seller to give you the funds back and most sellers are very cool with it. It s not a big deal. So these two reasons you want to be very aggressive, it allows you to push the line on what is acceptable and what s not and still have very little risk because if you buy it, you send it in to Amazon. First of all, you send it to Amazon for free, they don t like it, they send it back to you for free. You can then return the book, so you re basically out nothing, okay? So that s why you really want to push the line on this quality thing up to a certain point, all right? Here s another thing that s [00:08:00] important about book condition: many sellers actually used canned condition descriptions. So there ll be certain sellers that really grade their books very low, but they re good books, so they might grade a like new book as just good or a good book as just acceptable. So on top of that, some of the details that they put in the book condition are just generic. So one of the reasons Amazon may reject a book is if it doesn t have the accompanying media. While some of the sellers just use a canned response does not or may not include the extra media. Well, a lot of times a book didn t even include any extra media. It didn t have a CD with it or an extra little booklet or anything, but they say that in their description anyway just to cover their butts, so to speak. So just be aware of that. A lot of times those canned responses actually are not super accurate. So again, another reason why you want to err on the side of being aggressive because you re not really out anything most of the time when that happens. 4 P a g e

26 So again, descriptions can be canned, it doesn t necessarily mean they re 100% accurate, be aggressive, err on the side of trading in more books that too few books, okay? So with that being said, what I want to do now is let s do a little bit of an over the shoulder condition demo. Let s go to Amazon, we ll look for some deals, we ll look at the individual listings pages and see if we can weed out books or say, Yes, this book is good. Okay? So let s hop over to Amazon now and we ll see if we can find some deals and weed out some bad condition books. Okay, we re back here at Amazon, just did a search for textbooks, let s run the extension and analyze the page. So let s just take a look at- I don t know- let s take a look at this one. So let s go to the listings, the used and new listings. [00:10:00] We ll run the extension again, to help us do this quicker. So let s start to weed out some of these. Now, our target is kind of good, right? So let me give you an example, one I spot right away. So this one here, it says, Item may not include associated media. May not- what that tells me- and this is Amazon Warehouse Dealsbut it probably means that this book didn t even have any media, okay? Now, if you really want to get crazy, you can take a look at the book, you can go to the publisher s website a lot of times and see if it had accompanying media, if you want to go through all that trouble. We typically don t, we just get what seems to be acceptable condition and rock it out. Okay, so this one here would be a great example of one of those canned responses I would not trust and it wouldn t even matter to me because it s very likely this book doesn t even have accompanying media anyway, okay? So this one, used, good, so I would grab this one for sure. We re going to make 21 bucks on it. This one has water damage, so I m going to remove it. May not include associated media - that s a canned response, I ll get that one too, so that s another 17 bucks. You could see how quickly and easily we can make a lot of money with this. Good condition. May have some writing in highlighting that s acceptable for Amazon, so we re good there. This one says acceptable. May contain - okay, so, May contain to me, it tells me I m going to go for it, I m going to make another 13 bucks there. This is acceptable, let s see, it doesn t give any details so I m going to grab it. Good binding, clean pages, mild cover and edge wear - I ll take that one, that s another 10 bucks. Acceptable condition. Edges of book are worn. I ll take that one as well. I ll take this one. Light amount of wear, I ll 5 P a g e

27 take that one. I m getting down to only [00:12:00] $4 profit, but again, guys, you re not doing a whole lot of work for this, so I don t mind getting down to small amounts of profit. Slight wear, pages are all clean, I ll take it. May have notes, I ll take it. Still wrapped, it s brand new, I ll take it. Used-Good, I ll take it. So you can see here, we ve only really weeded out one book, okay? Sometimes, this one, you see a used sticker on back cover, a lot of times we will go ahead and remove the stickers when we get them, so that it s clean. You could use a razor blade, there are, of course, other methods you can use a lot of times to remove those stickers, but So that s one book, so let s go back and we ll run the extension again. Let s look at another book. Let s look at this one. Let s run the extension. Okay, acceptable. Suffered from excessive liquid damage. Okay, so that one s out, no good. Check this out, brand new, $23 profit, we ll take it. Brand new, $23 profit, we ll take it. Brand new, $6 profit, we ll take it. Let s go to page two and see if there are any other deals. We re getting down to tiny amounts of profit but no big deal: $1, $2, $1. Now, I also should say that this number here, this profit, does account for the shipping price, okay? So just be aware of that, so this is actual net profit after you pay for shipping to you. Obviously to Amazon you re not paying for the shipping. So anyway you can see we weeded out a book there, just one though. Let s run it again. Let s check this one, see if we can weed out any bad books. [00:14:00] Do not include supplemental materials, okay, this is just a canned response, I ll go ahead and grab it. Minimal cover wear, I ll grab it. New copy, I ll grab it. Instructors edition so this is no good, so we would remove this from our list. Instructors, remove it, no good. Brand new, that one s good, so again, you ll also notice your potential profits will change as you weed out books. So let s say it s $53.69, we want to weed out this, $1.49, you see we ve got 52 bucks now, so your calculations are always accurate in real time. So it s as simple as that, guys. You re just going to go through, use that list of things Amazon would potentially reject your book for the reasons they might reject your book and remove them, keep the other ones, add them to your cart and you re good to go. It really is as simple as that. Again, don t make it more complicated than it needs to be. Okay, so really quickly let s just do a summary of Book Condition. Generally you re looking for acceptable or a better condition books. The main things you really are going to find most of the time, that s going to weed out a book are going to be: instructor 6 P a g e

28 copies, loose-leaf copies, not for sale copies, books marked not for sale or water damage. That s typically what you re going to find most of the time. Sometimes you will find books that have extensive cover damage and those are no good. So really, instructor editions, loose-leaf, not for sale, water damage and cover damage are really the things you re going to run into. The other things are going to be very few and far between. So that s it, guys. Pay attention to book condition, err on the side of being aggressive, that s going to make you more money and we ll see you guys in the next video. 30 Okay, let s talk about actually buying books. Now, of course, this isn t a super complex thing, right? You re just going to click on add to cart and you buy them, but there are a few things to take note of and a way to track and organize this I want to cover, okay? Otherwise you just add them to cart and you check out. It s pretty simple. But, in terms of buying books, the first thing- make sure that you use your cash-back cards. I don t know how many times, like a goofball I have gone through the checkout process, didn t have the right cards selected or didn t have my cash-back card set as default and I missed out on 5%, so just make sure you have your cash-back card set as default so you don t make that mistake. So of course, that s an easy way to get an extra quick 5%. So make sure you re using your cash-back cards to make the purchases. Don t waste time, guys. Deals can get snatched up very quickly, especially in the textbook section, so you need to move fast. So in other words, don t just start browsing and taking your time and looking for deals and the go, Well, okay, I ll write this one down or, I won t really add it to cart yet or, I won t check out. We ll see if I can find some more deals tomorrow. No, move, get them now. You re not really going to save anything on shipping if you just wait to buy three books together. It doesn t really matter, so just buy them, move fast before somebody else snatches the book up before you do. Okay, now the next thing is- along those same lines- you need to check for deals on a daily basis and we re going to talk about a little bit later, of course, there are better times throughout the year for textbook deals, but there are deals every day to be found. And Amazon s [00:02:00] trade-in prices change drastically on a daily basis, sometimes more than once daily. I think we ve even seen that in some of our previous demos as we were searching for textbooks, you see that number, that dollar value available change. That s because trade-in values change, books and book inventory changes, third party sellers change their pricing, all kinds of moving parts here, so you really need to check daily. Okay? That is going to be the difference between the guys that make a lot of money and the guys and girls that don t make much money at all. So check daily. Real simple. Use your cash-back card, move quick and check every single day and you re going to do absolutely fine buying your books. Now, here s another little thing that we ve done. It became quite the chore as we started to order many, many textbooks from many, many third party sellers to actually see, Okay, which books did we buy again? Did that book come in? Did we sell that book? What s going on? So you want to use, of course, your cash-back cards, but also- I put that in there again because I just want to drill it in, don t forget to use your cash-back cards because I ve made that mistake, so I don t want anybody else to make that mistake. 2 P a g e

31 Track your purchases, use the tracking spreadsheet, we ve created a spreadsheet for you that s going to allow you to track the order date or order number, the ISBN for the book which we ll talk about later, the title, the seller, the purchase price, the arrival date, if you shipped it to Amazon, did you get your payment back, all those sorts of things. That way you can keep track of, Okay, wait a minute, I didn t get this book. I should ve had it by now. I need to contact the seller and say, Hey, what s up? I didn t get the book yet. Okay, so really important to track your purchases and the ones that have already gone through your entire process, you can mark off in the spreadsheet or do what you need to do, so this is how we really started [00:04:00] to track. So we wanted to give it to you guys as well because, like I said, it becomes quite the chore to figure this out if you re just trying to randomly check your orders and randomly check, Okay, did I get this book or not? This is a good way to keep it organized. That s really it, guys. Buying books is not difficult. Use your cards, move fast, check every single day for deals, you re going to find great deals at all times of the year, especially at ends and beginnings of semesters and of course, use the tracking spreadsheet that we ve provided you to kind of keep all of this organized. 33 All right. Welcome to the next video, and this one is a very exciting one. Why is that? Well, because what you ve learned so far can be taken to another level. It can be scaled up even bigger because it goes way beyond just purchasing books from Amazon third party sellers, and trading them in on Amazon. You can actually go beyond that. So let s get straight to it. What are we talking about here with this method number two? So as I said, Amazon, of course, isn t the only place you can buy used textbooks. If you really want to be able to add extra revenue, you should start purchasing books to tradein from multiple third party sellers outside of Amazon, okay. So this is scaling above and beyond Amazon, to really skyrocket your revenues. So one of our favorite places to actually do this or to find books to purchase is called BookScouter. BookScouter is a comparative search engine, and this allows you to search multiple sellers from one quick search, from one centralized search; a metasearch, so to speak. And our Google Chrome extension actually already has this search built in for you with just the press of a button. So again, the concept here in this particular method is to find other book sellers outside of Amazon where you can also buy the book cheaper for what the Amazon trade-in price is. Because, let s face it, we want to buy as many books as we can that are going to turn a profit, and this is one of the best ways to really scale out. Let s start looking for those outside websites that are also selling books cheaper than the trade-in program. And we re going to do that by utilizing, first, the [00:02:00] built-in part of our extension to search BookScouter. So let s move over and do a demo of how the BookScouter portion of our extension works. Okay, as you can see, we ve now moved over to Amazon. We ve done a generic search for the term textbooks. And let s run the extension, and I ll show you how we can tap into BookScouter. So you ll see that when you run the extension, you re going to get the ability to click on this button here called Check on BookScouter. So let s do that for one of these books. Let s take this book, for example. When we click on Check on BookScouter, it s going to automatically do a search here on BookScouter for that book, so you don t have to type anything in, it makes it super handy. And what BookScouter has just done is it s gone out and searched multiple other vendors, multiple other websites that are selling textbooks, to return all of the different results. Now, for some people, depending on your browser type, sometimes BookScouter can be a little messed up looking, You see these columns are overlapping and such. Don t worry, our extension will actually fix that. 2 P a g e

34 So we re going to run the extension again on this page. When we do that, it s going to give us, just like it does on Amazon, our total potential profit opportunity on this page. It s going to show the trade-in value that Amazon currently has for the book, and then the price that this bookseller is selling that book at, and the profit. So that s really nice to have there. Now, you can click on Buy. It will take you to this particular bookseller, and you can purchase the book. Now, the same rules apply here when you re purchasing the books. Some of these may be instructor copies. They may have water damage. They may have fire damage. They may have missing covers. All of the same quality guidelines, of course, apply just as if you were doing Amazon to Amazon. Now you re doing [00:04:00] outside of Amazon to Amazon. Same rules apply though. So it s really as simple as that. Now at this point what I want to do is, show you how to start weeding out books easily to keep it organized. You can see here, I've already clicked out, deleted some, just to show you. So the way you do that is you click on the red X, and it s going to recalculate your total here. So it s simply a matter of going through and finding out, is this one, does it meet our quality guidelines. If it does, leave it. If it does not for some reason, then we X it out. And you can just go down, X out the ones that don t meet the criteria, you re going to be left with the books that you want to actually buy. Simple as that. So that s how you keep it organized within the system. So that s it guys, as far as using BookScouter. Now, of course, there are ways to go beyond just BookScouter. BookScouter happens to be one great metasearch engine that our extension works with directly. But if you really want to get ambitious and scale even bigger, there are other marketplaces for used textbooks or new textbooks that you can go take a look at. So let s go back to the presentation. Now that you know how to use the extension portion of this, let s go back and see what other marketplaces might be viable for you to make some profit. Okay, back in the presentation now. Let s just take a look at some other sellers really quickly. Now these, of course, are just a handful that we like to use. There are many, many others if you want to take the time to go do other searches. So just a few other big sellers: bigwords.com, booksprice.com, textbookrush, campusbooks, textbooks.com, ecampus.com. A couple of these are included in the BookScouter [00:06:00] metasearch as well. You ve seen the ecampus logo in the previous example. But the bottom-line is this, guys. If you just limit yourself to using the extension only with Amazon third party sellers, you re really missing out on a significant amount of profit. In fact, you saw the latest example there that we just did with that book. It had over $1,000 worth of profit potential when expanding beyond Amazon. So that added several hundred dollars worth of extra profit just for that one book. So you can imagine how this 3 P a g e

35 starts to add up as you go through and get 10, 20, 30, 50 books. It really starts to add to your bottom-line. So for sure, do not bypass utilizing BookScouter because it works directly with the extension and you can do it very quickly and it does a very big, fast, search for you. But if you really want to get down and dirty and make as much profit as possible, do not overlook other booksellers and websites that are outside of Amazon. Because again, it doesn t matter, Amazon doesn t care where you get the book. You could have gotten it from your bookstore where they sell textbooks at your campus or something. It doesn t really matter where you get it. So that s the little piece we re going to try to leverage for extra profits. So the main take home message here for this particular section is, don t forget to use the BookScouter capabilities of the extension. It s very, very profitable to do so, and you re going to increase your profits by several thousand dollars a year, tens of thousands of dollars a year, using it properly. And also, don t be afraid to go out and look for those books other places. Because there are tons of deals [00:08:00] to be found out there, all over the place. Now I ll just throw this in as a side note, a little extra. There are other ways to get textbooks just beyond these marketplace websites. For example, I know at my local university, there are guys that come through and purchase the used books every semester from the different departments. So you can make a little loop around your local universities, and a lot of times, you can get the books for almost nothing because they don t really have any idea how you re monetizing the books or how much they re worth. So you can go in, get a book for $5, $10, that you can turn around and sell for $250 or you can trade in for a hundred of whatever it may be. So there are other ways to get books as well. Don t forget about those. So you got universities, you ve got libraries and library sales, thrift stores lot of times will have books Lot s of different opportunities but to be quite honest with you, I like to stick with the online thing because you can cover so many more books in a lot shorter amount of time than driving around. However, we have seen guys doing really big numbers doing the physical sourcing of books as well. So don t forget about that. So that s really it guys. The take-home message is the extension is even more profitable when using BookScouter, and you can make even more money when expanding even beyond BookScouter, and there are other ways to get textbooks. 37 In this video we are going to address one of the more common questions that we got from our beta tester group and that is, When should I buy? When should I be looking for deals? When are there a lot of really good deals? And when I say when they re meaning like what times of year, not necessarily what time of day. So when do I need to be really utilizing the extension to its fullest and really paying attention and maximizing my revenue. So that s what I want to address now. So when should you buy? Well, first I want to say new deals are available every single day. I don t want you to think that because there are certain times of year that you can really cash-in, that that means you can t do it now or tomorrow or whatever it may be. So really, you should be buying and finding deals every single day. However, there are some hotter times of the year to buy and of course, these are going to come at the end of semesters or between the end of one semester and the beginning of another semester. This is the time you really want to be working hard or working this method hard, I should say and you want to buy as many books as possible and make as much as you possibly can. So what are those semester dates? So if you re not really that familiar with college semesters, you have three main semesters- really two main semesters and one subsemester, we ll call it. Fall happens from the end of August through early January, it s going to be your sweet spot because at the end of August, the semester is coming to a close and then spring is starting up again in early January. So Spring, you want to go [00:02:00] from late January to late May, those are going to be the times you re going to find a lot of books available and then the summertime is going to be from late May to early August, that s when the summer semester is going to be going on. So, just try to time it such that you are really focusing your efforts if nothing else between semesters and you can really do a good job there, find a lot of deals. So pay attention to these three times of the year. However, do remember every single day you should be able to find deals and make profit. It s just that these are the times that are going to get pretty crazy, kind of like if you re selling retail items, be ready during the Christmas season. You re going to get an influx. Same thing here, be ready during these times and you should do fantastic. So hopefully that answers one of the biggest questions that I know people have starting out, Okay, when it the biggest influx of deals, when should I really be paying attention to this? and those are the main times of the year. 2 P a g e

40 Okay, you've now found some good deals on books, you've made the purchase. Now it's time to actually claim your trade-in and get prepared to send those books back to Amazon once you received them. So let's talk about claiming your trade-in. What you want to do, is lock in your trade-in price and go ahead and print your shipping labels and have them ready to go. You want to lock your trade-in price as quickly as possible right now, what does quickly and possible, mean? Well, Amazon says they give you a week to ship them the book once you claim the trade-ins. So here is what that means: if you're buying from a third party seller, it can take up to maybe two weeks to receive your book. Normally you receive it in about a week or sooner, which means then you have about that week of transit time to Amazon still. But the thing is, like I said, they say that you have about a week we found that it's actually closer to two weeks, so when you claim your trade-in as long as they receive that book within two weeks of that claimed trade-in, you're usually okay. Now at the week mark, they typically say, Hey, if you haven't already shipped your book, you're too late kind of a thing. Okay? The way to kind of time this, depends on the third party shipper, and if you ve already purchased books from that particular supplier before, you might have a better idea of how quickly you're going to receive the book. However, one thing that I like to do, is as soon as I purchase the books instead of waiting until that book is shipped or until I receive it, I like to go ahead and lock my trade-in price down right then. I like to order the book, then immediately turn around and claim the trade-in [00:02:00] and then just be very quick when I get that book I want to try and ship it that same day to make sure I meet that two week period. Now, here is why I like to that, okay? This is kind of like our little trade-in trick here. When you claim a trade-in, you've locked that price in for yourself, okay? So, the thing is, as I mentioned earlier, trade-in values can fluctuate multiple times even in a single day. You might lock in a trade-in price and then later, if you wait three or four days or a week until you get the book in hand to actually claim the trade-in, then the price may go down significantly. What you should do is go ahead and lock the trade-in price down, right after you buy the book. The great thing about that is this, it is kind of no-lose situation for you because if you, at a later time, see that the trade-in value has increased let's say, you bought the book today, you claimed the price today, you check in a few days when the book arrives 2 P a g e

41 again, and wow, they're offering $10 more on the trade-in real simple, cancel your trade-in and initiate a new one and they'll actually give you the trade-in at the new price. So again, it's one of those no-risk things or a no-loss possibility for you. Lock your tradein at a price point. If you see that price point go up, cancel and lock in a new trade-in for the new higher price. But if the price actually goes down let's say we claimed our trade-in today at $100 and tomorrow they're only offering 90, we will still get our $100 because our trade-in price is locked in once we claim it. It's very easy to cancel a tradein, it's not a big deal, you just go into your trade-in section, you click Cancel. We'll see all that here in a little bit. [00:04:00] Really, put yourself in that position is our recommendation to not lose. Claim that trade-in early and quickly and then later if you see that price go up, cancel, reclaim the trade-in. If it goes down, who cares, you've locked in your price already. Okay, so again, don't be alarmed too much by that, We need your book in a week, because once that time is up they'll say, Hey, hopefully you've shipped that book at this point, if you haven't- too late. But if you have, fantastic. I know we've gone a little bit past 14 days before and they've still accepted it. This is another area where you should be aggressive, put yourself in a no-lose situation, claim that trade-in early, if you see it go up, cancel, reclaim at the higher price and enjoy some extra profits. Now, that being said, why don't we go ahead and do an over the shoulder demo, I'll take you on Amazon, we will claim a trade-in so that you can see how that process works. So let s head over to Amazon now. Okay, here we are on Amazon, we did a search for textbooks, we ll just run the extension just to kind of narrow things down a little bit. So let s go ahead and use this book. Let s go down here, let s use a let s claim a low profit one. Let s just do this one, the $9 one. So you ll see here, Trade in yours for an Amazon Gift Card so you can click that link. There are a couple of other places you can click to claim the trade-in. If you go to the used and new section, a lot of times- and it depends on the booksometimes they ll give you a link here and sometimes they won t. So let s go back. This one didn t give it to us but I bet if we go here, if you click on the title you ll get, Sell yours for a Gift Card. We ll buy it for $96 so a couple of different places. You can click on the title itself [00:06:00] or the trade-in link and it s going to take you here. So here we are, this is where we have to certify that the ISBN is correct and the condition guidelines are met et cetera. So what is an ISBN. This is a number you re 3 P a g e

42 going to want to become very familiar with. There are actually two different types of ISBNs, okay? There is a 10-digit ISBN and a 13-digit ISBN. These are numbers assigned unique to individual books, so that you can match them up. It s sort of like a model number, let s say. So we know for sure if we have a book with this ISBN that it s the same book. So that s why they want you to certify that the ISBN is correct. Normally you would see a barcode somewhere and it will have the ISBN number right there, so you can verify that. Now, at this point we ll say, Yes, the ISBN is correct, we do have the right book and we then click Continue and we ll sign in here. Okay, so this page is where we are going to actually confirm or claim our trade-in. Really simple. Now, at this point, you can select two different ways to get paid: get paid now and they re going to go ahead and give you that $96 pay out. A lot of times this happens on certain books or if you already have some past history trading in, they ll give you instant pay out. Or you can click Get paid when they receive your item. So I always, of course, would like to get paid now and then you click Confirm Trade-In. That s going to lock us in at this $96.92 price point, so let s do that now. Okay, so now we have [00:08:00] confirmed our trade-in and our value and it shows you the next steps. It says, Okay, once you get it you need to put it in a printed packet, and then take it to a UPS drop-off or we ll talk a little bit later how you can have UPS come pick it up and then you get your card. Now, here is my suggestion and this is different depending on the browser you re using and your operating system a couple of different things, but basically I do not like to print the shipping label here, I like to actually go to another spot. So we will talk about that when we cover shipping labels in the next video. But at this point, that s really all you have to do to claim a trade-in. So let s just quickly recap that process. And let me go ahead and cancel this while we re- before I forget. Cancel trade-in. So it s that easy. You click on your trade-in account, cancel and it s cancelled. So let s just go back through the process. So again, we can run our extension and we have the option to click on trade ours on here or we can click on the title and click Trade-In, but we ll click this one. You simply click, I have certified, Continue and then on the next page you will confirm your trade-in. at that point, it will lock in to your trade-in account and you ll be able to print your labels which we ll cover in the next video. 44 Welcome to the next video where we are going to talk about shipping labels. Now at this point, you should have already used the extension to find some deal, you would have purchased some books and also claimed your trade-ins. Now you are ready to prepare labels for when you receive the books. So how do we go about doing that? It s actually super simple. Now, remember, you are going to ship the books to Amazon for free. Amazon is already covering the shipping and handling cost or I should say, the shipping cost. I guess you re the handling, but they re going to cover the shipping cost, prepaid, so when you print it out, you don t have to do anything. You simply print the labels, you can print them onto regular printer paper, copy paper, and tape that onto the envelope with clear shipping tape. The other options is you can print the labels onto label paper and you should see in the resources and this page a link to be able to get to some labels that we like to use. But, it s just as easy to print it off on normal paper, cut it out and tape it onto the package. So let s go ahead and do a label demo. Let s go over to Amazon, I will show you the best place to click on to print your labels and then what you need to do afterward. So let s head on over to Amazon. So here s where you re going to find your trade-in account. One of the easiest ways to get to it is to go to the Your Account section and click on Your Account and you ll see here to the right side, Your Other Accounts. You can click on Your Trade-In Account, this is where you re going to find it. It s going to take you to your trade-in account, it s going to list all of the books that you currently have claimed for trade-in or that you ve cancelled, whatever you may have done. [00:02:00] So the best place to click on print shipping label is here. So there are a couple of different places that you can click on Print shipping label. When you claim a book, as you saw in the previous video, you can print directly from there. I don t normally recommend that because this will actually print a better format of label for you, especially if you re using label paper, so you want to click on Print shipping label and then you can click over here on print. If you want to do more than one, you can click on more than one, but for now, since we ve got one book in here, we re going to click print, it s going to open up this page and it s going to allow us to print this and you can see, it s going to print two things. You ve got the label for the actual package and this is going to be your UPS label with a big, giant barcode and it shows you, Okay, hey, cut this out, this is what you would tape onto the package. Make sure that you use clear 2 P a g e

45 packing tape, so you don t cover up any of the barcode or important other information UPS uses. And you re also going to get this slip here which is a packing slip, so you want to put this in the box or envelope itself. So you ve got two things: you ve got the shipping label and you ve got the packing slip, so the packing slip goes in the package, of course, the shipping label goes on the outside of the package. So pretty simple. Again, you can print this out on regular paper, cut it, tape it down to the envelope or box or you could print on full sheet label paper and do the same thing and the advantage there is it ll save you a little time from having to use tape and tape over the label. You can just peel it off the label, the paper and attach it and you re good to go. So that s how you do it. Go in to Your Account, go to Your Trade-In Account, click on Print labels and then come over here and click Print and this is [00:04:00] the page you are going to want to print. Again, you ll get a packing slip, goes in the package, and a label that goes on top of the package. Simple as that. For labels, this is how you do it, feel free to print it on regular paper or label paper, we ll have that information for you here and in the resources section and that s it. Again, another very simple step in the process. We like to have these printed and ready to go well in advance of receiving the books, so we ll do this in batches. We ll order a bunch of books, print out all of the labels, cut them up, have them ready to go. That way when the books arrive all we have to do is slap them on there and you re ready to rock. 47 In this video we are going to talk about processing the books, well what do I mean when I say processing the books. Really simply it s just receiving the books, opening them, repackaging them, and then shipping them off. So kind of the whole process there. So the first thing we obviously want to do is open the book very carefully once we receive it. Now I m going to explain that in just a minute but you can potentially receive your book in a box, it can be in a bubble mailer, it can be in a manila envelope, it can be wrapped in what we kind of refer to as like butcher paper, almost like a Christmas present wrapping. It really depends on the seller you purchase the book from as to how they re going to ship it to you. So you re going to be receiving books in all kinds of different packages so you need to be prepared for that. The important thing is, you really just want to be careful when you open that package for a couple of reasons. Obviously you don t want to damage the books, but really more importantly, it s to save a little money because what we can do, is we can actually re-use that packaging when we ship that book to Amazon. So, you receive that book, if you, you know carefully open it, maybe you want to use a razor blade, whatever it is, just be careful when you open that package so that you can easily tape it back together or re-seal it or whatever the case may be depending on the type of course. And then we re just going to use that to ship it back. That way you don t have to have a huge inventory of shipping supplies on hand and you don t, you know it s just way more efficient. It s cheaper, it s faster, it s really better in all ways. So really what we want to say here is be careful with tape, don t rip it, and like I said potentially use a razor blade to cut the package open. That s what we [00:02:00] usually do and that way it s simply a matter of re-sealing with a quick piece of shipping tape and your good. Now here s the thing. Of course, as you expect if you do happen to rip the envelope, you can do two things. You can tape it back up which normally is what I do. Or you can use your own envelopes if you have some. So it actually is a good idea to have some envelopes of different sizes in stock or in your inventory and you don t have to carry many. It s not like you re doing 20,000 books a day and again most of the time you are going to be able to salvage that package and re-use it from the seller that you purchased it from. So it is a good idea to have some envelopes on hand in case you rip something or in case a lot of times if they ship me the book and the wrap it like Christmas present and I m a little bit concerned about condition or whatever, I ll just go ahead and grab a bubble mailer that I want in stock or on hand and we use that to ship it. So I basically instruct my guys and say look, if it s going to be too big of a pain in the neck and take you way too long to salvage the package, then by all means just go ahead and use a bubble mailer, there cheap okay. So don t go too crazy when saving it but save it if you can. It s basically take home message. Now, can check out links on this page or in the resources section and we ll 2 P a g e

48 give you some links for the envelopes we use so that you can have an idea kind of how we do things. Typically, we, of course use our gift cards and we purchase bubble mailers from amazon and that s what we typically prefer to use. They are cheaper than boxes, they are easier to store, easier to handle, all those types of things. So we ll give you guys links to that so you can have an idea of what we use. Now, so that kind of opening the book, just be careful. If you rip [00:04:00] it, re-tape it, have some envelops on hand just in case. You don t want to rip an envelope and have to run out to the store and come back. And now your, you know not getting a great return on your time, so save some time, order some envelops, have them in stock and on hand. Now, one thing I will say also. We do recommend having multiple sizes. Obviously books come in all kinds of different sizes. So if you can get away with smaller envelops, that s always nicer. You know go ahead and order a few different envelop sizes is what we would recommend. But, that s basically it. Just be careful when you open it, try to re-use the package when you can. If you can t, not a big deal, it s cheap. Just use a bubble mailer that you have on hand. Okay that s really about it for mostly opening the book. And again, we would recommend an x-acto knife or a razor blade, or a carpet style knife, whatever you can do to keep the ripping to a minimum. That s the last thing you want to really do is rip. Okay so once you have the package open, you're obviously going to want to inspect the book. Now here's where our book quality guide and video instructions. This is where you're going to refer back to that, to ensure that the book meets all of Amazon's requirements. Just the typical stuff that we ve already covered, in terms of making sure it's not an instructor copy, and all that sort of thing. Now also you're going to want to make sure-- What I always like to do is not only inspect. And of course you want to look at the covers, make sure it's not, a not for resale copy. That s a lot of knots, right? Make sure it is not an incorrect version of the book, and something that you can t sell. And then I like to fun through. What I train my guys to do is fun through the book a little bit. And just take a little whiff, and make sure it's not really strong odor [00:06:00] of some type, because sometimes they will reject it because of some really strong odor. But man it really needs to be super, super strong. Because remember on this book quality guideline stuff, if it does get rejected, you can just get a refund from the third party seller. Also obviously the goal here is to make sure that the quality of the book that you receive, matched what you expected from the seller. And sometimes it happens that it doesn t. It's rare but it can happen when a seller says, "Hey, this book is brand new." And you receive it and it's clearly used. Or they might say, "It's like new." And it's really pretty ratty. But a lot of times, what I have found more often than not, they ll give it a lower condition than what it actually is. Especially a lot of the bigger book sellers, because they don t want a bunch of returns and things like that. 3 P a g e

49 So they're actually going to under-promise and over-deliver for you there, most of the time. You typically don t have to worry about this. But again, if it does get rejected, you can send it back. Your goal here is just to make sure it meets the quality guidelines, and it matches the guidelines that the seller promised you that it was. You can save yourself a little bit of time here and Amazon too. Not like you really care, to save Amazon a ton of time. But you can save yourself a little time here if the book is clearly the incorrect one. Or it's got major problems that weren t disclaimed to you. Then you can just send it back right then, instead of shipping it to Amazon and getting a rejection. But again, do remember to be aggressive. One of the main mistakes we see people make with this method, and this includes the people we train to do this for us. They're not aggressive enough and end up losing money that way. I would rather ship it off, cross my fingers, see if they ll take it. And go through the return process than not. And just miss out on that money for sure. [00:08:00] Just be a little aggressive with it. Now so that s the thing. Be careful when you open, don t rip. We recommend using razor blades to open, and so everything is clean. Try to salvage that packaging. Inspect the book, make sure it meets what the seller told you it was, in terms of quality and guidelines. And then make sure it meets Amazon's requirements for your trade in. And we ve covered that a number of times. Refer back to the book quality guide and the video training for that. Assuming all of that is the case, now it's time to repackage the book. And again you're going to want to put the book back into the package you received it from if possible. Or use your new Bubble Mailer as we explained. Now one important thing here that we ve messed up on a few time, is you want to make sure that there are no other barcodes, or other pieces of shipping information that are visible. You either need to mark through those, have a magic marker on hand. Or you want to tape over them so that with something opaque, or another label, or stick your label. A lot of times what you can do is just stick your label directly over the other shipping label, and you're covered. Because what happens is, if there is another barcode, that could cause problems with Amazon. It can cause problems with the shipper. If there is other shipping information that can very likely cause problems with the shipping. You need to really turn that package over, and the envelope up and upside down, and all around. Make sure you're not missing any barcodes or shipping information, where it was shipped to you. You want to get all of that clean and cleared out. 4 P a g e

50 Mark it out, put a label over it, put tape over it, whatever you need to do to make sure that there's no confusion there. And like I said, many times you can just simply put your shipping label over the top of the old one. [00:10:00] And that s really it. You want to tape everything down, and once it s taped down, you ll simply drop it off at UPS or you can call for a pick-up with UPS. We ll talk about all of that in the shipping the book section, which we ll talk about next. That s really it so kind of quick, summary here, take home message, and then we ll going to shoot you to an another little live video of us processing a book. Quick take home message, once you receive the book and here s another really important point: you want to do this immediately. You do not want to waste anytime and hold onto the book. There are a number of reasons for that. One is you don t have much if you claim that trade-in like very soon after you purchase the book, you re not going to have a lot of time to get that to Amazon or Amazon is just going to reject it and say, Hey, you know, you were too late, you took more than two weeks to send this to us, you re not going to get your money. The really number one rule that should be mentioned is: be super quick with it. You need to be processing the books day-of; get them out same day if possible. That s the first thing. Next thing, make sure you re careful with the packaging. Do not rip if you can avoid it. Use a razor blade to cut through tape and envelopes and all that sort of thing. Be very careful; make sure you don t damage the envelope or the book if you can. Inspect the book once you have it open; make sure it meets all the quality guideline requirements. Be aggressive; return it if you need to. Send it to Amazon if it s good. Repackage, tape everything up, make sure everything is covered up, and there s no barcodes, no issues, and get it out the door. Drop it off in the UPS drop box or call to have them pick-up, which we ll discuss in another video and really that s it. It s not rocket science, guys. Don t overthink it, but just don t overlook anything either kind of at the same time, all right? [00:12:00] 5 P a g e

51 What we re going to do now is John actually recorded a quick little cellphone video of a book that came in and he kind of shows you how he s going to process it so just so you can physically see, Okay, I see how it came in, he opened it this way, repackaged it, where he stuck his label. That sort of thing. We re going to cut really quick to a cellphone video of John showing you what he did to process a book and then we will see you guys on the next video where we ll talk a little bit more detail about shipping. See you guys in the next one. John: Okay, I thought what we ll do is just show you probably the easiest way that we ve found to send these books back. When you get your book, it s going to come in some type of package like this. All you need to do is, obviously, open it up here, we re going to take the book out, and what we re going to do is we re going to reuse this package, all right? I m one-handed this thing. I probably shouldn t one-hand it. All right, so there we go. I got the book that I ve ordered, The Art of Public Speaking here. Then, it s already shrink-wrapped here for me; already done with all that. Now all we really need to do is we need to take two things. We need to take our UPS tracking information form that was printed out and then we need to insert this into the book as well. There s two pieces of paper that you want to use. Both of them you can print out let s say when you do the Amazon once that information as far as when you want to go and sell your book back or trade it in I should say. Okay, so that s pretty much it. What I m going to do is [00:14:00] that I m going to take this, the same book I ve just got in the mail, and I m going to put it back into here. I m going to then put one of these forms, the second form, and it tells you to cut along and include it in your shipping package. One of these forms that doesn t have the big UPS barcode on it like that one, I m going to stick it inside here with the book, and then the other one goes on top. I m going to take the other UPS barcode and I m just going to put it right on top of this, I m going to tape it on, and I ll remove this barcode there, and I m going to seal this back up. That s it. I m going to drop it off, take it, and go take it up to UPS. Drop it off really quick. 6 P a g e

52 All right, that s the simple way that way it doesn t cost you anything. You can reuse the same packaging; it s already shrink-wrapped. You don t have to really do anything. How easy is that? All right, take care. [music] [00:15:11] [END OF AUDIO] 7 P a g e

54 Okay, on to the next step here where we are going to actually ship the book. Luckily thanks to Amazon, we don t have to pay for shipping, they have prepaid. That s what we used the actual slip for that we printed from Amazon or the shipping label, I should say. So what do we do to actually ship the book? You have a couple of options. What we like to do a lot of times is use the UPS drop-off locator. If you don t know where your UPS drop-off location is and just drop it in the drop-box, simple as that. You can drive through and plump them right at a UPS drop-box. They re usually available around banks and sometimes commercial strip malls and things like that, so that s one way to do it and we ll show you the locator here in just a second and where to find it. But also you can actually request a UPS pick-up, so if you have a large amount of books, and you have high profit margins on those books, it may be worth it to go ahead and pay just a little bit, doesn t cost much to have UPS come pick it up. I think the last pick up we had done cost us around $9 or $10. So it s really not much and then you don t have to worry about driving or going anywhere, just put them out there on your front porch or by your garage, whatever you need to do and they ll come pick them up, which is cool. So simple process. Once you have the package ready to go, your shipping labels on, all of that done as we talked about in the previous video, all you need to do, find the UPS drop-off location, drop it off or request a UPS pick-up. So let s go over and I ll show you guys the UPS drop-box locator just in case you haven t done it before. Okay, so we will have the link for this for you on this page in the resources section, however and quick easy way to find it [00:02:00] and Google just ups drop box locator. It s going to be your first link here and then you click on Find Locations. It s going to allow you to search for a location. So let s just use- I don t know- zip code and it will search and it s going to give you a list of the drop-box locations, so pretty cool and you can sort by closest location, different times, et cetera. So all you need to do is find your closest location, pull up to the drop-box, dump your books in and you re ready to roll. Now, the next piece of this, if you would like to request a pick-up, that s a little bit different process. Let s cover that now. So here we are on the home page. You ll notice on the left column there s a Schedule of Pick-up option, so you will simply tell them the type, and it s going to be small package or letter and yes, you do have printed labels, and you ll put your information in here, click Continue and then it s going to allow you to 2 P a g e

55 go through the process. Like I said, it s not expensive but if you ve only got one book with small margins it s not going to make sense for you. However, if you ve got a whole bunch of books and you re making a lot of money, it may be worth your time just to have them pick it up and that way you don t have to worry about even driving to a drop-off location, but this is how you do it, just on the left hand side, schedule a pick-up, and fill out the forms and they ll come pick it up. Now, with the beta group we had a number of people that had specific questions about where they can find their trade-in account, can they tell if they ve been paid, where do we see the actual books that we ve traded in, where is that information and can we see Gift Card balances, et cetera? So we re going to talk about Gift Cards in an upcoming video, but for this one let s do briefly recap the trade-in account and where you can find that. So your trade-in account is actually going to show you all of your trade-ins and their statuses. You can see the status, if you were paid, there s a link to check your Gift Card balance if your balance has been paid out, so let s quickly do a quick demo for the trade-in account and where you can find it. So here we are at Amazon, the quickest way I found to get to your trade-in account is to hover over Your Account, click on Your Account. Then in the right hand side, Your Trade-In Account. This is where you re going to be able to see all of your information: the trade-in orders, closed trade-in orders, et cetera.
