7 Using the Housing Census in the Dwelling Address Project The Census was postponed one year from November 2000 to November 2001 The DAP got a very tight time schedule

8 Organisation of the DAP Statistics Norway is in charge of the project The project aims at upgrading administrative registers The leader of the Census is also the leader of the DAP Other participants: Tax Inspectorate (in charge of CPR) Mapping Authority (in charge of GAB) Local Authorities, municipalities (updating GAB)

9 Co-ordinate existing addresses in CPR and GAB Initiated by Statistics Norway in 1999 Several routines established Local co-operation between municipalities and population registers Mismatch reduced from 4,5 % to 0,5 %

14 Collect information on dwellings and transfer to GAB-register Selected variables from the Census will be transferred to GAB Must be possible to update in the future Sufficient quality and precision Example: Floor space Census: Ask for interval (minimising non-response) GAB-register: Ask for exact value (precision) Dress rehearsal : We ask both questions
