2 What is Social Networking? A way of using online resources and services to create and maintain a community of individuals who share a common interest. It s usually free.
3 A LiCle History We genealogists were very early users of the internet for social networking, but before that there was telephone- Remember Party Lines? Users may join common- interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteris8cs, and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends".
