General Notes: Peter s origins are unclear. There is no matching baptism at or near Coppenhall in on-line sources that matches Peter s likely date of birth so he probably moved in from elsewhere. His details are deduced from the various available records but involve a degree of speculation. An Elizabeth of appropriate age from Church Coppenhall was buried in 1836 so the marriage of Peter to Mary Yoxall is assumed to be a second marriage. Peter and Mary had both been widowed, and Peter s father s name was given a John. Peter and Mary appear together in the 1841 census with appropriate ages. Peter was said to be born in Cheshire.
