2 Disclaimer: This report is intended to not only inform, but educate you to the facts of building, running and maintaining a viable home based business through the MLM, Network Marketing or Home-Based business model. No guarantees of income are meant to be implied especially for those that want to sit on their hands and do nothing as if they had bought a lottery ticket or a Pick 6 ticket at their local race track. The intent of this report is to open your eyes that MLM or Network Marketing is no different than any other industry Wall Street in particular. The Network Marketing industry has been kind to me over the last 20+ years by putting food on my table and a roof over my head. More importantly, this industry has allowed me to call my own shots, write my own paycheck, in spite of my own stupidity at times. This industry will not discriminate against you regardless of race, gender, religion, age, income or intelligence. If you perform, you get paid.period! That s what I LOVE about this industry. Sure, the people within this industry can and will discriminate against you but the business model is flawless, in my humble opinion. When reading this report, grab a pen, pad and calculator. Shut the door, turn off the TV and turn on some music. Allow yourself, for however brief a period it may be, to dream with me. Dream those dreams you only dream when you feel nothing is impossible. Let yourself drift away from the constant doubt and disbelief that one part of your mind always nags at you and pulls you down believing you re not capable of a better life. In my opinion, if the things of great wealth weren t meant to be pursued, God would not have put them here on Earth for me and you to pursue them. This report can be your Get Out of Jail free card if you want it to be. No where else on this planet have I found, seen, or experienced a Business Model that allowed anyone with the drive, ambition and fortitude to reap such wealth. What you do with the wealth and how you deal with it along your journey is up to you. My hope is this report will not only inspire you, but educate you to the point that nobody could talk you out of this Industry even if held at gunpoint! 2

3 Day 4--Finding The Perfect Comp Plan, Product or Service! Is there such an animal? Take a personal poll for a minute. Grab a pen and blank sheet of paper, right now. I'm serious; go grab a sheet of paper and a pen so you can learn what nobody has ever taught you about finding the perfect MLM program. Hurry, I'll wait. Okay, you're back. On the left hand side write down this: 1) List ALL the MLM companies that you've ever been with. We are creating your "MLM Resume" if you will. Seriously. You HAVE to create a resume for your job don't you? It's funny how MLM companies don't require a resume, nor an interview before you join them, just cash! Hmmmmm...there's a point there don't you think? Now, for some of you, you may need 3 or 4 sheets of paper--but that's okay. I'm lucky, I only need one! Write down the name of the MLM companies you were with and then write down the years you were with them. Like this: Robert Blackman's MLM Resume 3

4 MLM Companies 1) Amway ) Gourmet Coffee ) Staff of Life ) For Mor ) Life Force Present You get the drift. Now, let's shine a light on you for a bit. On the right hand side of the page, write down two headlines: "Why I Joined" "Why I Quit" It should look like this: MLM Companies Why I Joined Why I Quit STOP READING RIGHT NOW! Fill out your form--i'll wait! Let me ask you a question. How did you feel when you wrote down your answers? Happy? Sad? You see, although the past does not equal the future, the past does give us clues. No, not "Blues Clues", rather: 4

5 "MLM Clues" You see, as an owner of a Printing Company all my life I've interviewed literally hundreds of people for jobs like: Pressman, Bindery, Shipping, Secretary, Salesman, etc. The first thing I want to know about a prospect for my Printing Company is "what have they done in the past?" Why? It gives me a "clue" with whom I'm working with. And, you know, usually the BEST workers and the most productive workers were usually those who knew NOTHING about the Printing business before they worked for me! Why? They were teachable. They were trainable. They weren't "know-it-alls" They listened Give me a guy who's been with 7 or 8 different printing companies over the last 10 years and I give you TROUBLE! If I hire him or her, I hire an attitude. He's back there trying to tell my supervisors how to run the plant. He's more interested in with what's "wrong" with our company that he just joined, rather than chipping in and working for our company. See the distinction? See the difference? 5

6 I create my own culture by hiring minds of clay. I mean that in a good way, too! I'd hire a rookie today and in 4 months he's going to be our top pressman. He'll out produce the veteran. Why? Attitude. Actions. His mind is not filled with failure. Rather the possibilities and the excitement that he got from whom? ME! YOU! You see, all too often in the MLM industry we see people move from program to program. Why? Usually to join the next "HOT" product or "HOT" pay plan. Don't do it. Here's why. History. Now, I'm all for improvement. But you have to remember boys and girls what Industry you're in. It's not computers you and I deal with every day, it's PEOPLE. And, when you deal with people you deal with a never-ending roller coaster ride. That, my friend is the double edge sword of life, isn't it? The unpredictable ness of it all. It's attractive and frustrating all at the same time. But, we keep coming back day in and day out to see how it's going to end. Now, why do most of these changes in comp. Plans and product lines occur? Usually to encourage those who are in other programs to move over. 7

8 Like a heard of "wildebeest" we all seem to move because we don't want to "MISS OUT" on the next movement. Hogwash! Central States Business Forms stands today in Dewey, Okla for one reason and for one reason only. My Father started in 1961 and stuck to his guns. Now, although he opted for early retirement in 1980 and went on to another business--he created it. Why? He didn't get along with the "Money" people who ran the plant. But, today. The business he started does over $30 Million Dollars A Year in business. It feeds over 250 families and serves over 2,000 independent sales people in all 50 states. Not bad for a $5,000 investment back in 1961, don't you think? The lesson? Dad built something,. Dad had integrity. Dad treated people right. Dad loved people. Dad motivated people. 8

9 Dad was a leader. Dad took the "hits" when others either couldn't or wouldn't. Dad is a hero to over 2,000 families today. How many families call you their hero? 2,000? None? You see, regardless of what pay plan you work, it works. I've made money in: Stair-Step Breakaway Matrix Binary Uni-Level Compressed Uni-Level Each plan his its strengths and its weaknesses. Just like you and I do. Each plan can make you tons of money if "you work it right." And, if you believe in what you're pitching. You see, Dad's plant wasn't' unique. There were over 100 just like his nationwide. So, how did it get to $30 Million selling a product that you could get anywhere--and you could get it faster and cheaper from someone else? Dad sold himself. 9

10 He sold "Bob Blackman"! You see, people are joining with YOU! If someone knows, likes or trusts YOU, they will join your program, regardless of the pay plan. If you are excited they will join. YOU. I never joined a comp plan. I joined because my sponsor "SOLD" me on the compensation plan. I joined because of his or her CONVICTIONS! Ever been to a Church service where the preacher put you to sleep? I have (confession time!) Ever been to a Church service where the preacher had you on the edge of your seat, your heart was pumping, your palms and eyeballs were sweating? I have. Which Church do you think I attend? The one that makes me sleep? Or, the one that makes me sweat? My question to you today is: 10

11 "Are you putting your prospects to sleep or are you making them sweat?" I'll never forget when I joined a Binary program just because of two people. One was Tony Little. The other was my sponsor. I liked them both (I still like one--guess which!) You see, Tony Little made me sweat! He excited me. I got fired up. I got pumped. He awoke the GIANT within me. We put in over 1,500 in that program in a very short time with just nothing more than good 'ole EXCITEMENT! Unfortunately, the infomercial never materialized as promised and my group fell apart. It was out of my control. What did I learn from that experience? People join on emotion first and the pay plan second (at least the majority do). And they join a PERSON--not pay plans. I would have NEVER looked at that program if it wasn't for Tony Little. Why? I liked his excitement. 11

12 Some hate him, but hey, I liked his enthusiasm. He made me stop and listen. He got my attention. I said to myself: "Okay, I'm joining with Tony. Now what are the products and what is the pay plan." Do you realize what I just said? I'll say it again. "Okay, I'm joining with Tony. Now what are the products and what is the pay plan." WHEW! New paradigm folks. People join because of you, not the program you're promoting. But, Robert, we pay out 49% on the first level that's why I sponsored 147 in the last 18 days? No, you're incorrect. 147 People joined YOU in the last 18 days, you just happened to be in that company. Yes, you believe in that company. They are riding on the skirt tails of your belief. You're "Super MLM Man/Woman" and they are riding on your cape. 12

13 Period. No discussion. Now, do you understand why some people seem to have all the luck? Why some people sponsor droves of people while you're lucky to get one a month or one a week? People are magnets. People are moths. People migrate. People are SOLD by other people to join THEM in a MLM. People don't join a MLM program, they join with YOU. Get it? Look. It is written that Eve SOLD Adam on taking a bite of that darn apple. Isn t' it? Do you think Adam wanted the apple, or he wanted Eve? Did Eve sell him on the Apple, or what the Apple would do for him? Did Eve go into the mechanics of how many carbs, fast sugars, fibers and calories were in that Apple she was selling? Or, did Eve sell herself? 13

14 Did she throw the Apple at him and scream: "Adam, EAT IT!" No, she was eloquent. She was persuasive. She SOLD the Apple. Adam, bit the Apple because of Eve, not because of the Apple. Get it? Human Nature. You've got to love it! It's predictable since that first bite. It's never changed and it never will. Oh, sure we can candy coat the numbers on the pay plan and the ingredients in the bottle to say: "We're Better Because of XYZ." But, you and I know that almost every MLM out there has great products. Every MLM out there can only shave so much off of every dollar to pay you and me, and stay in business. So, what gives? Why are there so many companies? 14

15 Why has the companies grown by over 500% in the last 7 years while the distributor base has only grown by a measly 15%? Huh? Why? In my opinion it's our current culture. Think about it. Back in the 1970's you'd sit through a 2 hour long Amway meeting at your neighbors house and think nothing of it. You had 3 channels to watch on TV--and they had bad reception. Heck, you had to GET UP out of the chair just to change a channel! You had one phone. You had no fax. No Computer. No cell phone. No . No voice mail. No Tapes showing up in the mail. No CD's. Hey, you had nothing better to do!!! Times were slower and we all seemed to be happier. We had time for our "fellow man". And potluck dinners after Church were a staple of American culture. What happened? Technology bridged the gap. 15

16 Better, stronger, faster. Inflation went sky high. Credit cards hit their max. Bankruptcy and divorces are at an all time high. And, you now have over 500 channels to watch--which, in my opinion, with the exception of ESPN, most of them aren't worth a darn. Most expose the "underbelly" of our society. Both spouses work. Both have cell phones and the 2nd mortgage and 2 car payments are eating our lunch. Who has time for a 2 hour meeting anyway? Who's making money in that silly MLM stuff anyway these days? Isn't that a pyramid? Quick. Ask the next 10 people you see what MLM is. You'll be lucky if 5 know what it is. You'll be lucky if 1 is in one right now. And he or she, I bet, isn't making more than they are spending. Gloom and doom, Roberto? No. An opportunity for you and me to educate and train our entire culture on the reality of building a MLM business from scratch. 16

17 Reality. Gut check time. Know who your market is. 7,000,000 (that's 7 million for you fellow Aggies), are reported in a MLM right now. 250,000,000 (that's 250 million for you fellow Aggies), are in the U.S. Remember my "hiring" story earlier? If you're focusing your sponsoring efforts on those who are already in a MLM you're in trouble. But, if you'll focus on those who AREN'T in a MLM right now, your response and success rate will be better. Does that mean, Robert, that I shouldn't sponsor someone if they are in another MLM? Or, if they've been in 7 deals in 5 years like me? Of course not. I'm just painting a picture for you. A outline of success. I'm explaining to you our industry from behind the scenes. I've consulted with 6 MLM presidents. Don't you think they know that their door is a revolving one? Don't you think they know about cross-sponsoring? 17

18 Don't you know they have to survive the ups and downs of people leaving and coming back again, over and over again? Sure they do. It's the industry. So, how do you grow, and grow exponentially? Teach this: "People join because of YOU--not the pay plan, not the product line" You see, you're selling the pay plan and the product line to them. They're buying YOU first (because you're the one that's selling the stuff) and the Product Line and the Pay Plan second. Why? Because there are literally thousands of pay plans and millions of different products (many of which you can get cheaper at stores down the street). But there is only 1 YOU! There is only 1 YOU! People want to join with you because you're UNIQUE! Yes, I can lose weight down the street, but Robert is my friend, he will help me. He's so excited about this new deal he's in, I don't want to miss out. I can make money, too! See the difference. 18

19 Don't miss this one. You can have all the leads in the world. You can have the highest pay plan in the country. You can have the best ingredients money can buy. But, you can't duplicate YOU. You can't replace YOU. They can only join one YOU, they can join hundreds of pay plans. This, my friend, is the SECRET to building a long term, walk-away income. Okay, back to your resume. You now know the companies, you know why you joined and you know why you quit. Now tear it up and throw it away. Forget the past. You now know why you joined. It was because of your sponsor--he sold you. Or, he three way-ed you to his sponsor and they sold you. Or, maybe, just maybe, you added up all the percentages on the brochure and you joined because of the pay plan. Or, maybe, just maybe, you compared the price of product divided it by the number of pills in the bottle and found the potency of each ingredient and ran it down to you local lab. 19

20 At.79 cents per pop, you were sure your pill was the winner that everyone would fall over and jump in with you. But, it didn't. The pay plan didn't work as it was explained to you. Nobody lost all the weight they were supposed to. Nobody followed the instructions. They quit half way through the bottle. They got on one conference call and quit. They got their co-op leads and never called them. They're avoiding you at work, the mall and church. You're hacked off. You feel betrayed. You feel like Adam did. Welcome to life. Life is funny. It looks good on paper, but the reality never quite meets the movie we run in our heads, does it? Why is that? It's because we're human. It's because you can't control the attitudes and actions of others. Many of you have a hard enough time controlling your own attitude and actions! 20

21 Why is Amway still around today with such a poor pay plan? They BUILD people. Why did New Image put in over 60,000 people and do over 120,000,000 (again, that's 120 Million for my Aggie friends) in sales in 5 years? They built people. Why did my Tony Little downline fall apart? We disappointed people--we did not build them, we let them down. That, was a tough lesson, for me. How about you? Why have I ALWAYS made money in every program I've been in, regardless of the pay plan and the product line? 1) I develop an easy system that everyone can use 2) I teach lead generation and conversion 3) I teach people to make money when people say NO 4) I build people I encourage them. I listen to them. I make friends. One, two or (if you're lucky) legs with leaders in them is all you ll ever need. Quality not Quantity, you say Robert? 21

22 Yes and no. You have to go through a lot of people to find a Quality one or two. 75% of my checks always come from one or two legs. So do the checks of other leaders in this industry. Ask them. Do the numbers, but don't treat people like numbers. If you're not SOLD on yourself, neither will your prospects. "But, Robert, I haven't made a check yet, how can I ethically sponsor anyone?" "But, Robert, I haven't lost any weight on the product yet, how can I ethically sell this stuff." "But, Robert..." You see, you're "But Roberting" yourself right out of the MLM business. Like a dog, your prospect can smell FEAR right over the phone and on their screen! I'd "DO" Mary Kay or Avon with my sponsor. Would you? This guy is so great I just want to be around him. If he called me and said: 22

23 "Hey Blackman, meet me over at 10th & Elm, we're doing a facial and pedicure at 5--bring some product and apps" I'd be there. That's strong. That's MLM. That's your goal. Make money along the way. You see, men and women do not follow products, pay plans and systems. Sure, those things are "mechanically" necessary in order to make a business run and pay you and me. But, what do people really follow? Pycnogenol? 40% on the 2nd level? Red Dye No. 3? Come on. Get real. People follow a "CAUSE" or a "MOVEMENT". Who drives or advertises those things? Products? Pay Plans? Systems? NO. People do. 23

24 Everyday, average 'ole people like you and me. Want to know why they guy cross-line to you is kicking your butt in sales volume and recruits this month? He's SOLD out to your companies MOVEMENT or CAUSE. Now, that may be a product or a % on a certain level, or a certain "system" he's created. Big deal. But, the BOTTOM LINE is that guy you're jealous of and who wants to make you PUKE is kicking your butt because he's more excited than you! He's EVE with an APPLE! GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Eve was one bit unsure and didn't sell Adam I wouldn't be here today, I guarantee it! She had conviction! She SOLD Adam. SELL YOUR PROSPECTS ON YOU AND WHAT DEAL YOU REPRESENT. Don't ASSUME they won't get in. Act as if they are the ONLY other person in the world. Treat them that way. And they will join. Hey, if Adam said, NO, to the APPLE, who else would of EVE "pitched?" 24

25 Nobody, you're right. There is a lesson there... Have a "Doctor MLM" attitude. Go to "MLM" school. If it's your Freshman year, deal with it. Learn the campus. Experience the people, eat the food. Sleep there. Make friends. But, don't drop-out because others seem to graduate earlier than you--even if they graduate after their Freshman year. MLM is quirky that way. It's powerful It's "Star Trek or Star Wars" like, isn't it? The POWER of the possibilities of MLM and what it can do for you and your family is what DROVE you into it, don't, my friend use that same POWER do drive yourself out. Earn your keep. Work your butt off. Watch, listen. Your days and mine are numbered here on earth. Make the best of it. Another 24 hours has just ticked off my clock--i'm proud of my efforts and what I accomplished, are you? You can and will be. 25
