2 How to Use this Meditation Journal Journal writing is a voyage to the interior. Christina Baldwin What you are holding in your hands is a powerful meditation technique. The power of this journal is the awareness it s going to bring to your life. When you gain awareness about the subtleties of your life each time you record your thoughts in this journal, you can finally create the life you want to live. Each time you sit down to meditate you will have a different experience. Just like each day of your life is different. By using this Meditation Journal you capture a moment in time that is unique to you. Over time you will begin to notice patterns. The patterns hold treasures of insights about your life. copyright sip and om

3 I encourage you to print out this journal, and to keep it in a Meditation Binder in your meditation space. How to Experience Your Best Meditations Yet Meditate only for as long as you feel fantastic, even if that means you only meditate for 5 minutes. Always end your meditations at the point where you could have meditated a little longer (this is also a great habit to apply to other things in your life such as eating) After you meditate, record your reflections in your journal: Make a few notes about the way you feel after just having meditated. Record the time, and how long you meditated. Write down your biggest energy drainers of the day (this could be people, situations, thoughts, foods, etc.) Write down what gave you the best energy of the day. List 3 things for which you are grateful. Record a few thoughts about your meditation. copyright sip and om

4 What Do I Mean by Energy? What I mean by *energy* is your mood, or how you feel. The more you meditate, the more you will notice your unique energy, and what affects it. This is important because if something affects your energy then it also influences your health, your wealth, your relationships, and everything else in your life. People, situations, weather, food, thoughts, music really everything you come into contact with on a dayto-day basis impacts you more than you might realize. Recording what boosts your energy, and what drains it, is one of the most important things you can do to improve your life. Meditation Actually GIVES You More Time When you meditate, and keep a Meditation Journal, you may find that you have more, and more free time. copyright sip and om

5 This is contrary to what you might think. You might think that meditation takes your time, but it actually gives you more time. This happens because when you meditate you start to become more and more aware of how you are spending your life s energy. You naturally become more selective with the people you spend time with, and with what you do with your life. You begin to realize all the things you can let go of. You may find that you live a lot of your life on other people s agendas. This happens very easily when you are so busy that you don t give yourself time to reflect on how you are living your life. Stress and overwhelm sets in. You become part of the modern day stress epidemic that touches many of us. So congratulate yourself for giving yourself this time to meditate, and to record a few reflections about your day. What you are doing is connecting to who you really are and you are so worth slowing down for. copyright sip and om
