1 Illusion of Depth Unit 5: Perspective Project 22 (pages 54 & 55 ) Illusion of Depth Horizon: where the sky appears to meet the land/ocean; the viewer s eye level & where all lines converge. 1

2 Illusion of Depth Create the illusion of depth by drawing repetitive images that become progressively smaller as they approach the horizon line. Additionally, color or decorate images so the values gradually change as they get smaller. Project 22: Illusion of Depth Draw a horizon line 2.0 Illusion of Depth from the top of the page. Draw a 2.0 border on the bottom; entitle Illusion of Depth Draw at least 20 repetitive images that become progressively smaller as they approach the horizon line. `Color or decorate images so the values gradually change as they get smaller. 2

Your hallway MUST have a tiled floor. The walls/ceiling may be tiled, colored, or decorated. Do not leave your room/hallway empty; you may decide how to fill the space. Be creative and use a ruler! 1.0 border around the page; entitle Project 23: Carnival Funhouse Project 24(winter): Deck the Halls (completed on pg. 63 ) (Glue to page 62) Create a full color holiday themed hallway using one point perspective. 16 Landscapes Project 25 (pages 64 & 65) Landscapes Landscapes depict natural scenery in a horizontal composition. They usually contain mountains, rivers, valleys, forests, trees, and the sky. The earliest landscapes on record were frescos (murals) created by the ancient Greeks, Romans, & Egyptians. Chinese landscape ink paintings (Shan shui) have been a tradition since the 5 th Century (Liu Song Dynasty). 16
