This was a sweet story about two people, who knew virtually nothing about one another, yet desperately wanted a life mate, and were willing to ride out a few bumps along the way to get it. It was nice to get a glimpse of some characters from the McCutcheon Family Series, and I look forward to reading Trudy's Montana Sky story. No gratuitous sex, just a sweet love story! Decent character development, but the constant worrying about secrets Evie and Chance are keeping from each other becomes a bit tedious. There are quite a few editing errors in the kindle version - missing words, extra words, a few spelling errors. Overall, it was a decent book, not the best romance I've read, but far from the worse! Having never thought of myself as a reader of either "romance nor westerns" I am delighted to say I am now a fan(of at least this authors) The book was engaging, sweet and realistic. I found myself making comparisons from the lives of the mail order brides and the men who sought them out, to the online dating world of(my)today! So many of the emotions were familiar("was I misleading in my self description", "did I ask too many questions or not enough","what would he think of me if he found out the truth"?) The hope, the fear and the determination were all there in such a real way that it felt as sincere as a real life often does. Full of insights, perceptions and the thoughts of humans crosses the time span and was fun to realize how much is the same today yet in such a different world. The author has a way of stringing together the scenes that left me feeling like I could step into Evie's life and recognize it from both the inner and outer surroundings Great story that I didnt want to end! I will read more of her work. What happens when a lonely young girl intercepts a letter addressed to her employer who operates a mail order bride service? This is a beautifully written story of Evie, who travels to the town with an unlikely name of Y Not, Montana. Chance is a lonely rancher who is infatuated with a saloon girl

4 who leaves town. Chance reads an ad for mail order brides and responds to it. What follows is a delightful story.carolyn Fyffe never disappoints! Each book seems better than the last! Entertaining, easy-to-read story! I read this after first reading Debra Holland's companion book in the Mail Order Brides series, Trudy. I "met" Evie in Trudy's story, and wanted to know the rest of what happened with her. I have to say, I LOVE Evie (the character/person and the book). A very well-written story. Good character and plot development. It kept me wanting to keep reading to see what happens and I was definitely invested in the lives of the characters.if you like books set in the late 1800s, about everyday life - struggles, good times, how they lived, etc - then you'll like these books. I love mail order bride stories and this one was one of the best.great story line, I loved the characters, it was so well written.i will be reading this one over and over. I enjoyed reading this book. It was filled with twists and turns and I enjoyed reading about Evie"s battles with her conscious. She is like so many of us not willing to admit that she had fears and struggles. Love that she was blessed with a wonderful and caring husband. This book was TERRIFIC. It shows how bigotry was ramped even in the best of people. One mistake should not define a person or the child that came of it. I am glad that that has changed so much in the last century. But I was glad to see Chance loved her for who she was and not what z he was.
