I gave 2/7 of the rats to my baby brother and 13 rats to Uncle Ulysses. I made delicious rat muffins with the remaining rats. a) How many rats ended up in the muffins? b) If I sold each rat muffin for 25 to my math teacher, how much money did I make? Each muffin had 1 rat. Math Problem 2 Witch Wilda was proud of the huge wart on her nose. There were 81 strands of hair on the ugly wart. 4/9 of the hair was curly. 21 strands of hair were straight. The remaining hair was greasy. Wilda plucked her greasy hair and sold it to Sorcerer Sama who needed it for a powerful spell to summon demons. a) How many strands of hair were greasy? b) If Wilda sold each strand of greasy nose hair for 46, how much money did she get?
2 Math Problem 3 Junglewoman Jane loved Jungleman Jum. She bought 288 ties for him on his birthday. 3/8 of the ties were silk ties. 113 ties were cotton ties. The rest were wool ties. She bought each wool tie from Sheep Sheila for 78. a) How many wool ties did Jum get? b) How much did Jane pay for the wool ties altogether? Math Problem 4 I caught some toads and removed their warts, 225 in all. I used 3/5 of the warts to make a hideous fridge magnet. I stuck 56 warts to a monster mask I had made. I sold the remaining warts to Witch Wilda at 94 each. a) How many warts did I sell to Witch Wilda? b) How much money did Witch Wilda give me?
3 Math Problem 5 While Monkey Melvin and Gorilla Gary were climbing Mt. Everest yesterday, they stumbled upon a dead Yeti. Strewn about the Yeti were some golden bananas. Melvin grabbed a bunch of them and ran away. Gary was left with 7/9 as many bananas as Melvin. In other words, Gary had 46 fewer bananas than Melvin. Gary took his bananas to a temple and donated some bananas to Muntholi, the Monkey God. After that, Gary had 1/3 as many bananas as Melvin. How many bananas did Gary give Muntholi? Math Problem 6 I invited some minotaurs and harpies to my birthday party last night. At my party, the number of harpies was 8/13 the number of minotaurs. There were 280 more minotaurs than harpies. However, some harpies started a fight with the minotaurs when we were playing tag. The minotaurs gored some of the harpies and killed them. The number of harpies was 1/4 the number of minotaurs after that. How many harpies were gored?
4 Math Problem 7 Mummy Minkabh went trick-or-treating with his best friend, Daddy Djoser. They came back home later with some delicious frog-eye lollipops. Minkabh had 11/15 the number of lollipops that Djoser had. Djoser had 720 more lollipops than Minkabh. Minkabh ate some of his lollipops, brushed his teeth like a good boy and then went to sleep in his coffin. In the end, he had 1/6 the number of lollipops that Djoser had. How many lollipops did Minkabh eat? Math Problem 8 Mary Medusa and Margaret Medusa had some venomous vipers attached to their heads. The number of vipers on Mary's head was 13/19 that of Margaret. Mary had 3078 fewer vipers than Margaret. Mary went to a hairdresser last Sunday and chopped of some of the vipers and replaced them with roosters. Now Mary has 1/9 the number of vipers Margaret has. How many vipers did Mary chop off?
5 Math Problem 9 Santa Claus gave Joseph and Jimmy 912 marbles on Christmas Day. However, Joseph received 1/5 as many marbles as Jimmy because he was a naughty boy. The next day, when Jimmy went fishing, Joseph stole some of Jimmy's marbles. Now they both have the same number of marbles. How many marbles did Joseph steal? Math Problem 10 Sorcerer Shaun and Wizard Warthold summoned 1078 demons from hell to help them with their household chores. Sorcerer Shaun was weaker in magic than Wizard Warthold so he was only able to summon 3/11 the number of demons that Warthold summoned. However, some of the demons that Warthold summoned ran away to Shaun because they didn't want to wash his dirty laundry. Now both the magicians have the same number of demons. How many demons ran away from Warthold?
6 Math Problem 11 Harry and Barry went searching for black pearls in the Red Sea yesterday. They found a total of 544 black pearls. Harry found 5/11 as many pearls as Barry. When they went back home, Barry gave Harry some pearls so that they had the same number of pearls after that. How many pearls did Barry give Harry? Math Problem 12 A rat died in my house last week. My mother found it teeming with maggots yesterday. She collected the maggots and baked 672 delicious maggot pies with them. She gave the pies to me and my brother. My brother had 3/11 the number of pies I had. He was angry and threw a temper tantrum. I immediately gave him some of my pies so that we had an equal number of pies after that. How many maggot pies did I give him?
7 Math Problem 13 I gave my math teacher and English teacher a total of 406 hairy frogs on Teacher's Day. My math teacher was furious because she only received 2/5 the number of frogs the English teacher received. She spanked the English teacher and forced him to give her some of his frogs. He gave her some in fear. They both had the same number of hairy frogs after that. How many hairy frogs did my English teacher give my math teacher? Math Problem 14 James and Andy bravely walked into a vampire's castle to kill the beast. They had 684 stakes between them. However, James had only 2/7 as many stakes as Andy. When Andy realized this, he apologized to James and gave him some of his stakes. They had the same number of stakes after that. How many stakes did Andy give James?
8 Math Problem 15 In Fowl Land, turkeys ate humans for Thanksgiving. Last Sunday, Todd Turkey and Teddy Turkey entered a forest to hunt humans. They shot a total of 682 juicy humans. Todd shot 4/7 as many humans as Teddy. Since Teddy was a good friend, he gave some of his humans to Todd so that they had the same number of humans after that. How many humans did Teddy give Todd? Math Problem ogres entered Fairy Land and began to terrorize the poor fairies. Flora and Filomena, two sorcerer fairies, killed all the ogres with their magic spells. Flora, who was blind in one eye, killed 2/9 as many ugly ogres as Filomena. The two of them decided to feast on the dead bodies of the ogres after that. Filomena gave Flora some ogres so that they had the same number of ogres after that. How many ogres did Filomena give Flora?

Janet and Clarisse killed all the beasts with their shotguns. 3/5 of the beasts Janet killed were trolls. 1/3 of the beasts Clarisse slaughtered were also trolls. Janet and Clarisse killed an equal number of harpies. How many harpies did they kill altogether? Math Problem 18 Jason and John were bored in class yesterday. They began picking their noses. Both hospitals received an equal number of men. How many men were injured by the rampaging monster? Math Problem 20 Dirty Damu and Disgusting Dismu never took a bath in their lives so their hair was full of bloodsucking fleas. They had a total of 247 fleas. 1/6 of the fleas on Damu were males. 2/7 of the fleas on Dismu were males. Damu and Dismu had an equal number of female fleas in their hair.
