The remit was to write an article of your choice for a teenage magazine. Pupils spent a lot of time learning about the intended audience and they were eventually clear that what they wrote would be published for teenagers at St John's; it was not for parents and their choice of topic, layout and language is meant to reflect this. SL: I need help. MLM: How do you get upstairs to your bedroom? SL: I don t go upstairs I go down stairs to bed. MLM: Why? SL: Because I cannot walk upstairs. MLM: Can you walk? SL: No it is too hard. MLM: How do you think important about wheelchair? SL: Helps me to move around. MLM: I know it is difficult for you. MLM: Why are you wearing hearing aids? SL: Because I m deaf. MLM: Oh right. Next one do you play sports? SL: Yes I do football and rugby. MLM: What is your team Football? SL: Leeds. MLM: And rugby. SL: Leeds Rhinos. MLM: Do you have relationship? SL: Yes I do my mum and my dad and brothers. MLM: How do you think important about wheelchair? SL: Helps me to move around. MLM: How many years you come to school here? SL: 2 Years I think. MLM: Can you writing? SL: Yes but I need support. MLM: Do staffs help you? SL: Yes Mr Alden. MLM: Do you mean Mr Alden help you typing and writing and you do speak Mr Alden then he typing and writing? SL: Yes he scribes. MLM: What do you think about your future? 9 New things facts about animals Leopards don't need much water.... It is no wonder that leopards are such great hunters.
