3 Background Based on feedback from System vendors and in-house providers (Vendors) it has been noted that the current CHESS Technical Accreditation (Accreditation) can be streamlined and become intertwined with the CHESS testing process. The new process means there will no longer be an Accreditation script provided. The new process allows Vendors to utilise positive test results received from their functional testing to quantify for Accreditation. Section1 of this document outlines the steps for Accreditation specifically for Client Segregation. Section 2 of the documents outlines the steps for the new Accreditation process for subsequent CHESS enhancements. 3

4 Section 1: Client Segregation Enhancements Financial Stability Standards (FSS) enhancements for Client Segregation - Accreditation How will I develop new messages? Vendors please refer to the Business and Technical Overview Client Segregation Enhancements to CHESS. What is the deadline for messages to be accredited? Monday the 16th of March. Equity Settlement Operations will contact Vendors that have not provided test data details for Accreditation prior to deadline to assure readiness. What format should I supply my accredited messages in? After all required testing is completed for new mandatory messages types, Vendors are required to send an with the subject SYSTEM NAME: ACCREDITATION to chesshelp@asx.com.au Vendors need to provide a CSV file with specific information to Equity Settlement Operations. The following information in the table below is the data set that Vendors need to provide:- AIC UIC Type Version Transaction Id The format of the data fields that must be supplied within the CSV file is as follows:- AIC Numeric 5 UIC Numeric 5 Type Numeric 3 Version Numeric 2 Transaction Id Character 16 It is important that the file format you provide to Equity Settlement Operations meets the format that is outlined above. 4

5 How do I know I have passed my Accreditation? The above data set needs to be a valid result to ensure accreditation is passed via functional testing that had been completed by the Vendor. - Accreditation Success will result in Accreditation letter being issued. - Accreditation fail will result in resubmission of CHESS message to be accredited by deadline. What are the messages I need to complete Accreditation for? Vendors providing for Clearing Participants will need to be accredited for the following message types: MT Scheduled Settlement CHESS to CHESS Transfer Request MT Net Trust Amount Movement Vendors providing for Payment Providers will need to be accredited for the following message types: MT Participant Funds Obligation Section 2: New CHESS Accreditation process post Client Segregation release The new process will involve the following steps:- Vendors will receive the Business and Technical Overview Document for the CHESS enhancements/release An ASX notice will be released for each CHESS release providing a deadline for CHESS Accreditation for any new messages. If any new turnaround processing is built in the CHESS test environment a new CHESS External User Testing Guideline document will be released on asx.online.com.au which will include all new message functionality.
