20 Locally owned since 1958, Barbur Blvd. Equipment Rentals was started by Richard Edwards and with guidance from Cora Edwards, as a sporting goods retail and rental shop for hunting, fishing and skiing equipment. Providing outstanding customer service and meeting customer demands, the company quickly evolved and in the 1960 s added tables, chairs and linens to their rental inventory for a party department. Now known as Barbur Blvd. Rentals, the Edwards are branded for being experts in the party planning business throughout the Portland metropolitan for over 50 years. Their business grew exponentially and inventory went from table and chair settings for 200 to 10,000 in 6 years. In 1986, Scott Edwards launched a new division to expand the company.
