2 Lakewood Manufacturing Company, Inc. is a Maryland based contract furniture manufacturer that specializes in solid wood commercial grade products. Our primary markets include the Federal Government, colleges, universities, private schools, mental health facilities, fire stations, camps and the like. We are an international company shipping products to all 52 states, Japan, Korea, Guam and Europe. Lakewood Manufacturing builds furniture that is durable and stylish and we are well known for customizing products to meet the specific needs of the user or layout of the building. Lakewood s pricing is competitive and our products will endure daily use in any commercial setting. We are committed to manufacturing quality products and service that meet or exceed our customer s expectations. Lakewood features wood-to-wood construction secured with glue and screws which is a century old method proven to be the strongest furniture construction method available. Tops are available in a multitude of colors to match any d cor. Drawer boxes are four sided and dovetailed to add beauty and strength. We also use a frame rail in our units for added stability. Our slides consist of ball bearing nylon rollers with lever locks for positive in and out motion and are tested for a 100 lb. load. We use a solid bottom in our units, which prevents dust from entering the drawer area from the bottom and keeps the unit both sturdy and square. Attractive dual nailed nylon feet are used to prevent marring of the floor. In addition, we incorporate adjustable steel gussets in our units to insure the product can be leveled on practically any surface. Our staff is experienced with packaging our products for local delivery, cross country common carrier service and overseas custom requirements. We offer installation and set-up service taht is quoted on a job by job basis. If you have any questions about our delivery and installation service, please feel free to ask. LAKEWOOD LIMITED WARRANTY We guarantee our furniture against structural failure under normal indoor use for a period of five years. Fabric, foam, sleep bed mechanisms and side/arm chairs are guaranteed for one year from the date of delivery. Mattresses carry the guarantee of the manufacturer. Our furniture is made of solid wood, and laminate combinations, therefore slight variations in color and finish is to be expected. Any contraction or expansion of wood due to atmospheric conditions is not covered by this guarantee. A copy of the original invoice must accompany claims. 5 Our solid yellow pine furniture is perfect for settings that demand ultra durability. The product has evolved over the years to be more finished than the original crate style furniture developed back in the late 70 s. Currently the wood selected is a better grade, more time is spent sanding and the finish is more uniform. With this being noted, the product is still characterized as rustic, durable and function furniture. Southern Yellow Pine is known for its density, strength and beauty. Houses, including roof trusses, are made of this material in construction grade. Furniture grade is selected to have few knots and have a grain pattern that is unique. We buy only furniture grade pine that is hand selected specifically for commercial and residential furniture. Unlike most furniture, our pine group is made primarily of solid wood. The only components that are not solid wood are cabinet backs, drawer bottoms and laminate tops. To ensure a square cabinet, we also include a ¾ base panel to help prevent racking and add to the longevity of our furniture. All of our drawer divider stiles are angle screwed from beneath into the side panels to add superior structure to the cabinets. We have also elected to leave our drawer runners wood to wood rather than introducing a metal drawer guide system to reduce the maintenance requirements. The backs of our solid wood drawers are elevated and stop as the back makes contact with the drawer stile preventing the drawer from falling from the cabinet. Drawer bottoms are captured in all four sides and the backs are structural members. Our pine furniture is stained a medium golden oak and finished with three coats of quality finish. This feature allows for ease of cleaning and prevents water stains from occurring. The finish improves the appearance over furniture that is only stained. Our products are finish sanded, stained with a NGR, sealed, hand sanded, sprayed with a top coat, hand sanded and sprayed once more with a second top coat. It is very laborious, but it offers a value added solution to our customers in addition to the improved appearance. The rustic nature of our pine furniture is suited for many uses. Our customers include mental health facilities, college/universities, camps, lodges, fire stations, private schools, YMCA s and the like. We strive to deliver a great product that will last for years and years and is rated the best value for our customers.
