Since 1892, situated North of Provence in France, Berard has been a resource for kitchen tools and accessories using only the finest Mediterranean olive wood.

2 Since 1892, situated North of Provence in France, Berard has been a resource for kitchen tools and accessories using only the finest Mediterranean olive wood. The quality of Berard products are the result of a century of know-how. Each piece is hand crafted by Artisans so no two pieces are exactly alike. Prized for its intense graining and variations in characteristics, olive wood is naturally strong and elegant and will give you years of enjoyment in your kitchen and home. Wood is a natural resource which is crucial to the balance of life on our planet. Using it as a raw material means respecting it from its origins, the forest, right through to recycling. Berard utilizes the most sustainable practices in the harvesting and production of their olive wood. Trees taken for agricultural purposes are replaced with new olive wood trees. We use the majority of thetrees and branches by repairing the little imperfections (knots or cracks) using the natural olive wood pulp, instead of using a chemical procedure which detracts from the graining of the wood. The Artisan will use his experience to determine exactly what items can be made based on the woods inherent quality and characteristics. How to take care of Olive wood Hand wash only and dry thoroughly. Do not put in dishwasher. To help maintain its original luster, regularly wipe wth a light coat of food safe mineral oil/beeswax.
