1 NMSE 14 tradeshow turnout exceeds expectations The Association of Marine Technicians brought back the National Marine Service Expo trade show this year and the responses from both the attendees and exhibitors were very positive. Every exhibitor indicated that they would like to return for NMSE 15 next January. Being that this was our first tradeshow in a number of years we really didn t know what to expect, said Joe De Marco, AMTECH president. We are overwhelming pleased with the comments from everyone who attended or exhibited. We hope to expand our show for The NMSE 14 tradeshow was held Jan. 17 on the WyoTech-Daytona campus in Ormond Beach, FL. The exhibitors were in alphabetical order, Amsoil, Bel-Ray Company, CDI Electronics, Gold Eagle Co., GLM Products, Jerry s Marine Service, LEHR Incorporated, Marine Rebuild Specialists, Nautical Software Solution, Sea Star Solutions, Stafford Insurance Agency, Uflex USA, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Wiseco Performance Pistons, and WSM Distributing. More than 140 marine technicians and WyoTech students attended the show. A number of exhibitors conducted a number of free seminars the evening before the tradeshow. They received great reviews by the attendees. The attendees liked the lineup of seminars this year, De Marco said. Seminar topics included: Successful selection and installation of hydraulic steering systems (Uflex USA), Ethanol fuel additives (Gold Eagle Co.), M.E.D.S. Diagnostic Software (CDI Electronics), Synthetics: Get the facts (Amsoil Synthetics), Marine Insurance Q&A: Are you adequately covered? (Stafford Insurance Agency), Sierra STATS Diagnostic Software (Sea Star Solutions) and M-SHOP software version 8.0 (Nautical Software Solution). Here is what some of the exhibitors had to say about NMSE 14: Thanks for inviting Wiseco to the AMTECH National Marine Service Expo at the WyoTech campus in Ormond Beach. We enjoyed excellent feedback on our product and answered many questions from a targeted audience of current and future technicians in the marine industry. I was excited to see the 2014 NMSE Dealer Trade Show event scheduled this year as part of the annual National Marine Service Expo. This trade show allows our factory the opportunity to showcase products and services to AMTECH members, dealers, and students of WyoTech. CDI Electronics brought our trade show exhibit of products, and factory support personnel to meet with those in attendance. This one-day event proved to be as successful as expected we spoke with over 100 technicians and dealers, networked with many marine industry professionals, and captured some sales during this fast-paced trade show. I would encourage any marine industry business to explore exhibiting at NMSE next year. - Thomas TJ James, Sales Manager, CDI Electronics Some comments from the attendees of the tradeshow who also took AMTECH/MCTINA training: I just thought I would complement you for the excellent training programs and seminars this past weekend at the Service Expo As a surveyor I am not in the repair end of the Marine industry, but the information I learned the past 4 days will greatly help in my outboard engine analysis while during surveys. The classes/workshops were very well taught with an exceptionally knowledgeable staff of

2 instructors. It was also a pleasure meeting other AMTECH members and staff. I am looking forward to attending NMSE 2015 as I know it will be even bigger and better. - Capt. I was able to view and handle new diagnostic equipment and marine products. It was a great benefit for me to network with industry leaders, and gain many new ideas to help my business grow and be more successful. I appreciate all the time that was dedicated to make this happen and I plan to attend again in the future, thanks. - Russ Mc Cabria, Performance Outboards, Riley, KS I just attended the National Marine Service Expo. The show was very beneficial to us as to have all of the vendors available in one room. Instead of hours of searching the internet, we were able to meet the manufacture representatives one on one and get the information we need. We were also introduced to many products and services that will make our business more efficient and profitable. It was a great experience for us and well worth the investment in time and resources.
