13 How to Successfully Innovate Make the nay-sayers your closest contacts to understand their motivation Work policy to support your endeavors (Tellabs spent 5 years influencing USMC leadership of the benefits to the org) Proof of concepts evaluations of change improve odds exponentially (and learn from any deficiencies to adapt and meet the requirements) Position technology to solve a problem they may not realize, not to sell widgets Bring the team together to make innovation simple (C-level, maintainers, designers, consultants, CORs, and integrators/bidders)
