DETAILS OF THE VET STANDARD 1. Vocational education level 3 rd. 2. State code S Qualification awarded grounds and facilities caretaker. 4. Basic education basic. II. CONTENT OF THE VET STANDARD 5. Brief description of occupational activity: 5.1. The VET Standard for a grounds and facilities caretaker (hereinafter referred to as the Standard ) has been developed taking into account changes on the labour market, findings of the qualification study carried out by the Standards Development Working Group A person having completed the established Grounds and facilities caretaker vocational education and training programme acquires competencies for working in the following main activity areas: grounds maintenance; facilities maintenance; management of mini-machinery The Standard described the necessary qualifications for the grounds and facilities caretaker who works in business companies (supermarkets, private companies, individual companies providing grounds and facilities care services). Well-looked lawns, flower beds, pruned shrubs and hedges, well-looked interior determines not only the satisfaction of the Lithuanian residents but also that of the foreign visitors and shapes a positive image of Lithuania in the world A grounds and facilities caretaker carries out different facilities and grounds care tasks by using professional equipment, tools and materials, performs the tasks assigned by managers A grounds and facilities caretaker is characterised by the following personal qualities and general skills: tightness, reliability, communication skills, self-confidence, innovation, fast reaction, organisation skills, ability to adapt. 6. The Objective of a grounds and facilities caretaker to clean and take care of the environment and facilities. 7. A grounds and facilities caretaker s activity areas and competencies are listed in Appendix 1 of the Standard. 8. The scope of a grounds and facilities caretaker s competencies, training objectives and competency assessment are provided in Appendix 2 of the Standard. 9. Successful work as a grounds and facilities caretaker requires the following general capabilities: 9.1. personal responsibility; 9.2. punctuality; 9.3. communication and cooperation; 9.4. curiosity; 9.5. honesty; 9.6. team work skills; 9.7. problem solving skills;

Final qualification assessment: Qualification of a grounds and facilities caretaker is awarded to a pupil who has completed the whole training programme, acquired competencies defined in the Standard and has been given a positive final qualification evaluation In accordance with the competency assessment criteria listed in the Standard, the following is tested and evaluated: during the training process - all competencies defined in the Standard; during the final qualification assessment - selected competencies Organisation and performance of the final qualification assessment and issuance of documents is regulated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania.
