6 Gunnebo Industries - our past and present In 1764 counsellor Hans Hultman founded Gunnebo Industries in the shape of a hammer-smithy in Småland, Sweden. What he didn t know was that his company was going to grow and develop into an international corporation, well known in a great number of industries all over the world. Gunnebo Industries stands on a 245 year old foundation and this provides us with great knowledge and experience. Our ability to adapt to our customers needs and demands, together with our focus on quality and safety, has made us stand strong where other companies have faltered. Today we have branched out in five business areas - Blocks, Fastening, Lifting, Telescopic and Traction located in countries all over the world. Gunnebo Lifting our identity and business concept Our business concept is: To develop, manufacture and market products in lifting and handling industry. We have from the very beginning continuously innovated and launched products that have lasted and became the market standard. For an example, we proudly presented products such as: the G-coupler connecting link, BK self locking hook range and the SKLI-Swivel. Gunnebo Lifting is always trying to look ahead and create the products that will meet the demands of the future. This way of thinking has lead to the invention and production of the GrabiQ lifting system. GrabiQ combines the best of functionality, flexibility and product quality, which offers the end-user a unique multifunctional lifting system. 8 About our products Gunnebo Lifting - GrabiQ Gunnebo Lifting has been responsible for many of the technological advances in lifting products throughout its history. We have an on-going commitment to constantly investigate new ideas that will make safer, quicker, easier and more cost effective lifting solutions possible. Our GrabiQ Grade 100 range features integral shortening, reduced number of components and more flexible use of chain slings. This provides a modular concept that covers a wide set of applications. Chain and lifting components Our chain and components are made from special quenched and tempered alloy steel. This guarantees very high strength, low weight, high wear resistance and long life. All lifting components are uniformly marked with equivalent chain size, grade, manufacture s designation and name for positive identification and each individual component and chain link is tested to the Manufacturing proof force (MPF) before delivery. Shackles and rigging screws Gunnebo Lifting has its own factory for the production of shackles and rigging screws. The factory is located outside Bergen in Norway and is Scandinavia s leading producer of these products. Gunnebo-Anja Industries AS is also quality assured according to ISO 9002 and parts of their shackle range is Type Approved to DNV Polyester lifting & lashing Gunnebo Lifting has its own production of polyester products such as roundsling, webbing sling and lashing equipments. We make webbing out of 100% polyester in our own weaving mill, which means that we can have a systematic quality control at every manufacturing stage - from raw material to finished products. This is a guarantee for a high level of safety and long life of the products. LiftiQ Chain Blocks & Lever Hoists The LiftiQ Chain Blocks & Lever Hoists range is designed in cooperation with high demanding offshore clients in the North Sea. The range is designed for heavy duty lifting and materials handling operations and manufactured to fulfill International standards. Gunnebo Johnson Blocks & Sockets Gunnebo Johnson a name recognized by industries worldwide as a mark of uncompromising excellence. An extensive product line, including e.g. snatch blocks, crane blocks, overhaul balls and sockets. Rigid controls on high quality make Gunnebo Johnson products the standard of choice. 10 Service Inspection and service for your security According to current standards and the regulations of the labour inspection, lifting gear must be inspected and documented at least once a year, depending on the activity. The labour management at the company is responsible for regulations being followed. Through inspection and documentation, the company achieves a safer working environment and better order, resulting in a better economy. This is in line with work done on the quality improvement of your business. Survey records can be shown to customers, certification bodies, labor inspection and others. With a service contract you will make your business safer by having regular inspections of your lifting gear. The company can concentrate on their core business while we will carry out maintenance and repairs on site whenever it is possible. This will ensure that you will not be without your lifting gear for any extended periods of time. The company makes positive savings and maintains a high productivity. Gunnebo Lifting has the best equipped service truck for inspection of lifting gear on today s market. We carry out inspection of lifting gear including: Steel wire and sling Roundslings Chain and sling Webbing Lever hoists Webbing slings Hand chain blocks and trolleys Lifting clamps Lifting beams Pallet forks Protection harnesses Hand operated lifting magnets Rope pullers When the inspection and service is finished, a inspection survey will be printed on the site. 12 Knowledge lifts loads off your mind We want to ensure that you have safe and correct handling of our products. To do so we have developed a number of customer training programs. The courses are presented by our highly qualified staff in our Training Center in Sweden. We offer a range of training sessions that will increase your knowledge of our products and how to handle them safely and correctly. This will create a safer working environment and a longer product life span. After successful completion of the course the participant receives a diploma certifying the knowledge achieved.
