News Stamp & Coin Show Today at the Sons of Utah Pioneers 10 am to 4 pm. Bottle Show on Sept. 2nd, 9 am to 4 pm, 3100 S. Redwood Road ANA's World's Fair of Money Aug. 1st - 4th https://www.money.org/uploads/pdfs/2017%20world's%20fair%20of%20money.pdf The US Mint were showing off the 1933 Double Eagles and 1974 D Aluminum cent they confiscated. The US Treasury was showing their $500,000,000 treasury note and other high denomination currency. Coin Photos courtesy of US Mint by Debbie Dawson https://www.usmint.gov/news/inside-the-mint/225th-anniversary-ana-denver https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-releases/mint-to-display-1933-double-eagles-at-ana-worlds-fair-of-money We talked with US Mint's lawyer who won the case against the Switt family for the 1933 double eagles. He said that the statute of limitation had expired. Then he used the analogy if someone stole your car you still own the title of ownership to it. If they came back and asked, "Does this car match the car you used to own?" Then the original owner still claim the car, because the title does not expire. They said that a mint employee illegally stole the coins and sold it to the Mr. Switt. I think the world mints (i.e. Canada) had better displays and presentation than the US Mint. The ANA displayed their 1804 Dollar and 1913 Liberty Nickel Bullion Gold: $1284.70 +$30.20 - Silver: $16.97 +$0.46
