DANGER STOP CAUTION! Denotes an mmnent hazard whch may result n moderate or severe njury. Denotes a condton whch may result n product or equpment damage. Hghlghts specal or mportant nformaton. The bench mount s desgned to be mounted n ether of the two postons shown n Fgure 2. Orentaton of the bench mount depends on operator preference and the desred eject drecton of termnated connector (refer to Fgure 4). Install the bench mount as follows: 1. Place the bench mount on a bench or work table n the desred locaton and orentaton. 2. Mark the locaton for the screws n the bench surface through the drlled holes of the bench mount flange. Drll holes for the mountng screws. Mountng hardware s not suppled wth the power bench assembly and must be suppled by the customer. 3. DESCRIPTION (see Fgure 2) The power bench assembly conssts of a bench mount wth an attached pneumatc power assembly, a foot swtch, and ar tubes whch connect the foot swtch to the power assembly and the ar source to the foot swtch. The bench mount s attached to a bench or work table wth screws or clamps and the foot swtch s used to actuate the power assembly when connected to an ar source. In ths use, the pneumatc power bench assembly emts a nose level less than 70 db and the vbraton level s less than 2.5 mm/s². 4. INSTALLATION DANGER To avod personal njury, ALWAYS dsconnect handle assembly from the ar supply when nstallng STOP or removng the bench mount. 3. Secure the screws. 4. Connect the ar tube to an approved ar source. It s recommended that a flter-regulator-lubrcator unt wth the lubrcator adjusted to the mnmum settng be used wth the power bench assembly. Refer to Fgure 3. It s also recommended that quckdsconnect fttngs are used to connect the tool to the ar-supply. If not usng quck-dsconnect fttngs, provde a pneumatc lock-out on the ar lne that bleeds ar after t s turned off. The power assembly s desgned to operate at an ar pressure range of 276 through 483 kpa [40 through 70 ps]. Servce lfe of the power assembly can be greatly extended when only the necessary ar pressure s appled. Excessve pressure causes unnecessary wear and stran on the power assembly, termnatng head or feed track assembly, and connectors. Insert an unstrpped wre nto the funnel area between the contact and the wre nserter untl t bottoms on the tool base. 4. Depress the footswtch and hold t untl the wre nserter bottoms. 5. Release the footswtch. The wre nserter wll retract and the feed slde wll automatcally advance the connector to the next contact poston. 6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 untl all contacts have been termnated. 7. Inspect each termnaton. 7. MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION DANGER To avod personal njury, ALWAYS DISCONNECT the power bench assembly from the ar supply STOP when performng mantenance or nspecton procedures. These procedures have been establshed to ensure the qualty and relablty of the power bench assembly. A bref nspecton should be made daly by the operator and a more detaled nspecton should be performed on a scheduled bass by qualty control personnel. 7.1. Daly Mantenance Each operator of the unt should be made aware of, and responsble for, the followng procedures: 1. Remove dust, mosture, and other contamnants wth a clean, soft brush, or clean, lnt-free cloth. DO NOT use objects that could damage the power bench assembly. 2. Ensure that all components are n place and properly secured. 3. Wth the termnatng head or feed track assembly n place, connect the ar supply and actuate the power assembly by depressng and releasng the foot swtch to ensure that the mechansms and plunger move smoothly and freely. 7.2. Perodc Inspecton (At Least Once a Month) Regular nspectons should be performed by qualty control personnel. A record of qualty control nspectons should reman wth the power bench assembly or wth personnel responsble for the assembly. It s recommended that one nspecton per month be performed; however, operator tranng and skll, amount of use, workng condtons, and establshed company standards are all factors to be consdered n schedulng nspectons. The nspectons should be performed n the followng sequence: 1. Remove any accumulated flm wth a sutable cleanng agent that wll not affect plastc materal. 2. Make certan that all components are n place and properly secured. Check ar tube fttngs for leaks. 3. Make a few test termnatons and nspect the termnatons n accordance wth the nspecton procedure descrbed n the nstructons packaged wth the termnatng head or feed track assembly. 4. Check for chpped, cracked, worn, or broken areas. If damage s evdent, repar s necessary. See Secton 8, REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR. 8. REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR Customer-replaceable parts are lsted n Fgure 5. A complete nventory should be stocked and controlled to prevent lost tme when replacement of parts s necessary.
