Artwork Specifications Theme Architecture of the Pacific Northwest is the theme for this event. Please interpret the theme however you see fit. Creative latitude is the key. Artwork Guidelines We ask that you follow a few basic guidelines: Incorporate your playing card suit and number; Keep the images and subject matter appropriate for all audiences; and Please refrain from incorporating your logo or company name into the artwork itself. All firms who participate will be recognized in several ways, including an artist listing in the deck. Size Submit your artwork in a finished sheet size of 11 x15. For your reference, pages 3-5 have some examples of past artwork and how it would scale and be cropped to playing card size. Printing to the Edge of the Card If you want your image to print all the way to the edge of the card you will need to make sure that the image extends to the edge of the 11 x15 sheet, to adequately accommodate tolerances associated with the location of the trim zone. Protecting Important Image Features To ensure that none of the important features in your artwork are clipped when the cards are trimmed, contain all critical features inside a 1 margin on all sides of the 11 x15 sheet. Deliverables We are happy to accept artwork of any medium. We ask that you submit: 1 hard copy & 1 electronic copy of your artwork; Completed copy of the Participant Information Form (Page 2 of this document); and Company logo in high resolution JPG or EPS. Artwork Hard Copy Submit a hard copy of 11 x15 artwork in a medium that is suitable for framing. This applies whether your artwork is electronic or other mediums. Artwork Electronic Copy Submit a copy of your artwork in electronic format. This can be the native file if the artwork is electronic. If the artwork is another medium, please provide an electronic copy of at least 300 dpi in RGB format. Schedule Deliverables to Notkin s office: November 20, 2015 Artist Opening/Playing Card Reveal: February 2016 Final Product Deck of Cards The final product will consist of 2.5 x3.5 standard sized playing cards with a custom box. The cards will be in full-color, printed on high quality paper with a protective coating. Reduced reproductions of your artwork will be on the face of the cards. The cards will be distributed at the February event and throughout the several months following. Coffee Table Book We will be producing a coffee table book to highlight the firms who have participated and provide a brief look at the stories behind their playing cards. Each firm that participates will receive a copy of the book as a thank you gift for participating. In addition, we will sell additional copies of the coffee table books at cost to anyone who wants one, setting the price based on estimates received from our printer. In the event that we have enough book orders that the production price drops, we will be donating any proceeds to one of our favorite charities, the Wounded Warrior Project. Framed Artwork Notkin will frame all of the original artwork with high quality framing components. Each artwork will be professionally labeled with the firm s name and artist name(s). All artworks will be displayed in Notkin s Seattle office and may be displayed at other venues around the Pacific Northwest or loaned to participants to display in their galleries.
