Hurworth School Independent Learning Tasks Year 9 ART April May

Art Class Teacher Deadline Key Skills 1.) Researching Skills 2.) Drawing from observation 3.) Imaginative use of materials 4.) Creativity Pencil Rubber Internet Coloured Pencils Collaging materials Internet Ruler Equipment and resources needed Please place a tick in the right hand column if you have this equipment If you do not have this equipment, please place a cross and see your class teacher to get this equipment Paint is optional. You can use the Art room at lunchtime to borrow paints and a paintbrush.

Independent Learning Tasks Make a collage of album covers Find out about a different artist inspired by music Music Draw your favourite album cover Draw a piece of Kandinsky's artwork Make a fact file on Kandinsky In this ILT you need to finish tasks. You MUST finish all of the tasks in(pink). The tasks in (grey) will show you have put even more effort into homework and done even better. (3-5 hours)

Helpful Advice Task 1 - Make a collage of album covers Using the internet and magazines collect a variety of different album and produce a full page collage using these images. Think about your presentation and how you can make the page creative. Remember to make a background colour, add a title. Try to be creative with your choice of materials e.g. collaged border using music paper? Task 2 - Draw your favourite album cover Using the images from Task 1, choose your favourite album cover and produce an accurate copy of it. Take care with any lettering. You should try to make this drawing fill the page. It may be useful to print off a bigger image so that you can copy detail more easily. Add colour to your drawing using any 2D material e.g. paint, coloured pencil, pen etc. Task 3 - Make a fact file on Kandinsky Using the internet produce a fact file about Kandinsky Collect images of his artwork Information about him when he lived? What type of artwork he made? Add a title (Kandinsky) Present all your information creatively on your page. Try to add your own opinions about his work which pieces do you like? Why? Task 4 - Draw a piece of Kandinsky's artwork Using an image of Kandinsky s work from Task 3; copy a piece of his artwork. Try to draw the image accurately and add colour. Fill the whole page. (You might want to stick the image you have copied from onto the back of the page so we can see what it should look like). Task 5 - Find out about a different artist inspired by music Using the internet research a new artist that has been inspired by music this could be musical instruments, lyrics, concerts, songs etc. Collect images and Information about your artist when he lived? What type of artwork he made? Add a title (Their name) Present all your information creatively on your page. Try to add your own opinions about his work which pieces do you like? Why?
