BTEC SPORT INDUCTION INFORMATION Name: Course applied for Btec Sport Level 3 Diploma in Sport To help us make the course as interesting as possible, and make sure it will help you progress successfully onto the next stage of your career or educational path; please take a few moments to answer the following questions... and make sure it is handed in to Mr Lowe at the start of your course. What sport(s) do you play on a regular basis? 1. 2. 3. Do you play any at county or regional level (or above)? If so, which ones and at what level! Are there any sports you really enjoy watching...but don t have the opportunity to take part in? What sorts of career(s) are you thinking of looking at once you have finished your BTEC course?

Have you thought about going onto university? It may still be early days...but any idea the sort of course you would like to study? Is there any other information we may find useful? Do you help coach, have a talented brother/sister (in sport), follow your favourite sports team regularly etc? Summer Task This needs to be completed and handed in on your first lesson. You need to complete a word processed report that explains one method of fitness training for the following components of fitness: aerobic (cardiovascular) endurance muscular endurance flexibility speed strength power Speed = interval training + explain interval training and how it improves speed + give an example. Complete this for all the components above.

This questionnairee will help you discover what kind of learner you are. Read each row and tick the ONE option that is most like you. I prefer lessons where we can discuss things. I prefer lessons where there is something to look at (like a picture, chart, diagram or video) or something to draw. I prefer lessons where we can do something practical or at least move around.
