LED Lighting For COLD STORAGE and WAREHOUSING
Lighting cold storage warehouses has always been challenging due to the limits of fluorescent and metal halide technologies. Both fluorescent and metal halide lamps require a high temperature in which to operate so their lifetimes are severely shortened when operating in cold spaces. In addition, the use of occupancy sensors with these technologies is very limited because of delays in restarting fluorescent and metal halide lamps, and because frequent on/off cycles will significantly reduce their lifetime. LEDs, on the other hand, have the ability to save significant amounts of energy (>5%) over both technologies, have a much longer lifetime in cold spaces, and can be designed in long linear form factors to provide very uniform illumination. In addition, LEDs are perfectly suited for occupancy sensing and dimming applications. THE EcoBrite DIFFERENCE EASY ON THE EYES Because of its exclusive optics and linear design, EcoBrite lighting systems deliver a brilliant LED color, which is distributed more uniformly across warehouse aisles. EASY ON ENERGY BILLS LED lighting has proven itself to be more energy efficient than fluorescent tubes. EcoBrite s unique design goes one step further, delivering peak energy efficiency by keeping the electrical current constant across various temperatures. EASY ON THE ENVIRONMENT In addition to consuming less energy, EcoBrite lighting systems do not produce Infrared or UV light, and they do not contain lead, mercury, glass or other elements that may be unacceptable for certain applications. EASY TO WORK WITH Installing the Ecobrite bars is easy and does not require any special equipment (other than a ladder/lift). The possibility to install a DC system adds flexibility with wiring (no conduit) and safety to the whole installation. MADE IN THE USA Ecobrite is proudly made in the US. EASY ON YOU! Our LED linear fixtures will reduce your energy consumption by 5-6%. They require no maintenance during their lifetime, and they last 6, hours minimum. When combined with motion sensors (and/or dimming) the energy savings can reach 8-9%.
WHY SWITCH? The answer is simple the EcoBrite LED bar provides more light distributed more evenly across the aisle. Why use a fixture that produces a single blob of light in a huge space when you can install a light source that is 12ft (36cm) long and provides much more uniform light? KING THE SWITCH. THE PAST THE FUTURE The aisle in the photo on the left is lit with two 4W Metal Halide fixtures, while on the right, a similar aisle is lit with 12ft EcoBrite bars. The aisle on the right is clearly brighter, with more uniform light. Equally important is the energy savings - the total wattage on the left is about 9W (2 MH fixtures including ballast) and the total wattage on the right is 228W a 74% savings.
The optics for the EcoBrite LED warehouse bars are designed to optimize the light distribution in the aisles. The shelves are uniformly illuminated from top to bottom, reducing picking errors. The bilateral lens eliminates glare and directs the light precisely where it is needed. ADVANTAGES OF EcoBrite BARS: More energy efficient than fluorescent tubes Incomparable visual performance Reduced maintenance costs Consistent illumination, no hot spots and dim areas Scalable Instant start allows for sensor activation Full intensity on instant start No mercury, no UV, no IR, no EMI No glass Linear Very low profile -- eliminates clearance problems Smaller electrical wiring required to fixtures Lower supply amperage to facility Flush mount - tight to ceiling installation NSF rated Comparison of LED bars vs MH and FL The charts that follow provide the results of a companison between EcoBrite bars and metal halide and fluorescent fixtures. Because of their linear design, the EcoBrite bars were evenly distributed in the aisle. The metal halide and fluorescent fixtures were centered at ft and 35ft. One aisle has 2 metal halide fixtures with a total wattage of 98W One aisle has 2 T8 fluorescent fixtures with a total wattage of 4W One aisle has a single row of LED Bars with a total wattage of 175W One aisle has a 2x1x2 configuration for LED bars with a total wattage of 29W Ceilings are 22ft high Illuminance (fc) 2 18 16 14 12 1 8 6 4 2 LED bars vs T8 Fluorescent 8.75 17.5 26.25 35 Distance through aisle (ft) T8 (4W) LED bars (29W)
