7 /This is Why: Optimised Sharp LED luminaires vs. LED retrofit lamps The following risks occur with the usage of LED retrofit lamps: Reflector and optics are not matched to suit the specific LED chip technology Altered distribution characteristics switching to LED retrofit lamps Expired warranty, test marks and certificates on housing Lower installed load, but significantly lower luminous flux No compatibility with existing ballasts Limited possibilities for lighting controls Higher weight of LED retrofit tubes is often not suitable for the use in fluorescent lamp fixtures Information about LED retrofit tubes often include incorrect information about the power consumption 7
