Note: A sensor can be configured to perform occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting or both. Uniform: If selected, the sensor will offer occupancy control as well as daylight harvesting. In response to daylight, participating electric lights dim/brighten by the same percentage. Multi-Zone: If selected, the sensor will offer occupancy control as well as daylight harvesting. In response to daylight, participating electric lights dim/brighten by varying percentage. The percentage depends on their proximity to the window(s). None: Sensor offers occupancy control only. Daylight harvesting is not offered.! Refer to the section DAYLIGHT HARVESTING on Page 7 for available configuration options when the sensor s daylight sensing capability (Uniform or Multi-Zone) is enabled. 6

Daylight Harvesting Daylight Harvesting configuration for the area is always associated to Scene 1 if the area has been assigned a wallstation. The configuration can be overidden by selecting a different scene.! For optimum performance, sensors used for daylight harvesting should: 1. Be mounted 2'-6' from windows or above a desk or workspace located in the primary sidelit zone Note: The sensor should be mounted within 6'-10' (ideally above a desk or workspace) from the windows if a single sensor is used in the area for both daylight harvesting and occupancy sensing. 2. Not be exposed to any uncontrolled desk or floor lamps. Light from uncontrolled source can impact how the system regulates the daylight harvesting zone 3. Have exposure to daylight and at the same time not be exposed to direct sunlight Note: It is important that the area should receive sufficient daylight during setup. However, the daylight measured in the area should not exceed the maximum artificial light reading.. 4. Be exposed to steady daylight conditions that are typical to the region Note: Light meter values taken during sudden changes in sky conditions (for example, daylight to overcast or vise versa) can adversely affect the effect of daylight harvesting 5. Not be masked Daylight Zones Definition 0.5 x HH 0.5 x HH 1 HH 1 HH 1 HH 1 HH Primary Sidelit Zone Secondary Sidelit Zone HH Window Height No Daylight Zone Reference: Building Energy Efficiency Standards/California Energy Commission. 7

The primary sidelit zone is a daylit area directly adjacent to one or more windows. Calculation Steps: a. Determine the window head height for each window. b. The length of the zone is one window head height into the area adjacent to the window. c. The width of the zone is the width of the window plus half the window head height on each side of the window. d. Subtract any area on a plan that is blocked by a permanent obstruction that is six feet or taller. Window Head Height = Vertical distance from the finish floor level to the top of a window Secondary sidelit zones represent areas where daylight is present, but may provide less illumination because of their distance from windows. Calculation Steps: a. Add one additional window head height to the same dimensions determined for the primary sidelit zone. b. Subtract any area that is blocked by a permanent obstruction that is six feet or taller.! 1. A light meter should be readily available prior to performing the daylight setup. 2. When prompted, light meter readings should be entered within 30 seconds (DO NOT wait until the meter readings are completely settled. Light meter readings +/- 10 Lux are accurate enough for the setup) otherwise the setup will fail. Uniform a. Select Uniform, then tap CONTINUE and NEXT. 8

b. Shine a light on the sensor when Action Required is prompted and tap NEXT. Ceiling Tile Sensor c. Enter the light meter reading (lux value) and tap NEXT. Make sure the light meter is positioned on a work surface. d. Enter the light meter reading (lux value) when lights turn off and tap NEXT. e. Tap GO TO AREA PROPERTIES to configure other area properties for Sandy s Office. 9

! If not successful, adjust shades/blinds position to minimize the direct sunlight effect on the sensor and repeat the process: RETURN TO AREA DEVICES START TEST Multi-Zone a. Tap Multi-Zone. b. Shine a light on the sensor when Action Required dialog is prompted and tap NEXT. c. Tap WINK to find/identify the fixture(s) and assign them to the desired zone(s): Primary Zone, Secondary Zone or No Daylight Harvesting Zone and tap NEXT or CONTINUE. 10

d. Position light meter in the secondary zone at work surface height, enter the light meter reading (lux value) and tap NEXT. e. Enter the light meter reading (lux value) for the secondary zone when lights turn off and tap NEXT. f. Repeat steps d. and e. above for the primary zone. g. Proceed to configure other Area Properties upon seeing Area Setup Successful message: GO TO AREA PROPERTIES CONFIGURE AREA DEVICES! If not successful, adjust shades/blinds position to minimize the direct sunlight effect on the sensor and repeat the process from RETURN TO AREA DEVICES START TEST Reconfiguring Daylight Harvesting To change the Daylight Harvesting Type (for example, change from Uniform to Multi-Zone, etc.) for Sandy s Office, tap GO TO AREA PROPERTIES CONFIGURE AREA DEVICES START TEST Note: Daylight harvesting can be disabled by selecting None. 11

Minimum Brightness This feature is available for both Uniform and Multi-Zone options. Fixture(s) brightness level in response to daylight harvesting can be adjusted from 0% to 100%. Strength This feature is available for both Uniform and Multi-Zone options. Aggressiveness of daylight harvesting from High to No Daylight Harvesting can be selected from here. Motion Sensor a. Tap desired Motion Sensor Mode. Occupancy Mode: Lights turn ON when occupancy is detected and turn OFF when there is no occupancy in the area. Manual input via wallstation is not required. Vacancy Mode: Lights need to be manually turned ON via wallstation. Lights turn OFF automatically when there is no occupancy in the area. b. Tap desired Motion Sensor Timeout. Note: 1. Timeout determines how long a sensor should wait before turning the lights OFF when the space becomes vacant. 2. OSRAM sensors are shipped with 5 minutes hardware timeout. For example, 5 Minutes (Default) when selected via SIMPLUX Application would introduce 10 Minutes (5 minutes hardware timeout + 5 minutes timeout selected via application) of waiting time prior to turning the lights OFF. 14

Scheduling Lights can be made to turn ON/OFF automatically depending on a schedule. An area can have both SCHEDULING and MOTION SENSOR based controls. In this situation, the sensor will only function outside of a scheduled event. a. Tap No Schedule to begin programming. b. Tap on the day. c. Tap on the button to Activate Schedule.
