The geophysical survey was split into two phases, the first phase is now complete, the second phase remains to be completed and utilises both hull mounted and towed equipment. Further details provided below. SURVEY AREA: The survey area is located in Aberdeen Bay and is approximately 2 to 5 km offshore. Fugro is required to survey within the survey areas identified in Table 1 and 2 and Figure 1 and 2, for Phase 2 of the survey works, avoidance of these areas is requested. The areas have been split into limited manoeuvrability, where towed equipment will be deployed, and no affect to manoeuvrability, where hull mounted equipment will be utilised. Please ensure any vessel anchored in this region is not anchored within the areas identified. If required to pass through the area, please make contact with the vessel on VHF channel 16 / 12 to inform of intentions. The second phase will have hull mounted and towed equipment up to 80 m behind the vessel. The vessel will be operating on a 12 hour basis. Throughout survey operations, the vessel will be displaying the appropriate lights and shapes as required under the COLREGS Rule 27 (b) and will require other vessels to maintain a wide berth of at least 150 m.
