Hello all, PRESIDENT'S COLUMN Mark Your Calendars! Who here is looking forward to our show? Wow, that s a lot of hands. Good thing we went with the bigger room this year. That means more room for more coins! It s not often we have the opportunity to see this quantity and variety of coins without having to drive to a big city with a national show, so don t miss out. If you ve never been to a coin show before, our show makes a good introduction. Not only can you see more coins in the show s two days than you could in several trips to your local dealer, but it also gives you the chance to meet many regional dealers and see what material they specialize in. We only do this one weekend a year, so don t miss out! Sound like fun? Great! Who wants to help make it happen? Come on, let s see those hands again! Our esteemed treasurer, Harold Harrison, has been taking around the sign-up sheets for the various things that need to be done to make the show a success. Our first meeting this month, will be the only chance we have before the show to get these details ironed out, so let us know how you can help. Looking for something to do the Friday before the show? You can help get the dealers set up. Have a competitive streak? Try to outsell Jim Holden selling raffle tickets at the greeting table. It helps the club, makes our show the success it is, and you get to hang out with your fellow coin enthusiasts on a day other than Wednesday. There are those hands I was looking for! Since our first regular meeting this month is also the last before the show, it s also your last opportunity to earn incentive tickets for the show raffle. That means if you still have tickets sitting around, it s time to move them out! You don t want to miss out on the five free tickets for every fifty you sell. So, sell what you have left, and return the stubs with $9 for each book. Let s see if we can beat last year s numbers, and make Jim as happy as if he found a coin of Friedrich III in a bag of generic German coins. On with the show! -Aaron Brown Educational Presentations Anyone interested in giving an educational presentation can contact any board member. Please consider signing up. Thanks. We will need volunteers for June 21-23. Sign-up sheets with the details of the needed help will be available at the meetings starting the first meeting in May. Sign-up and join the fun. Harold Harrison is in charge of the signup sheets this year so look for him at the meetings and volunteer.

Answer: Silver Eagle Membership Challenge Question (Question provided by Aaron Brown) Question: On which denomination of U.S. fractional currency was George Washington never depicted? May General Membership Question: From 1853 to 1855, arrows were added around the date on the half dime, dime, quarter dollar, and half dollar to mark a weight reduction. When arrows were again added to the date in 1873 and 1874, which of these denominations wasn t included, and why? Answer: The half dime.
