An active chapter, MRVC offers lectures and demonstrations, group correspondence courses and study groups. We cherish the time we spend with our fellow members while we work on the craft we love. Welcome! Area Points of Interest Mississippi River Valley Chapter of EGA has planned a wonderful event for this fall! Fall is a beautiful time of year along the river. We are situated in a historic district in Rock Island with much to share. We have a great variety of classes and teachers. All the teachers are our own MRVC members with much talent and so willing to share with us. Friday night from 4p.m. 10p.m. is our Market Night. We have inherited stashes from some much-loved members of our guild that no longer stitch. We are blessed to receive these items and will be offering them Friday night only. You can increase your stash with some lovely hard-to-find items at a fraction of the cost. There are tables to rent as well. The women of MRVC-EGA welcome you to an event you are sure to be inspired by. A historic river location with lots and lots of bridges, classes, stitching time, and time with dear friends will bridge the time until we meet again at our 2019 National Seminar. We will be given the opportunity on Saturday to work on items for the National Seminar. Please check the classes and schedule of events enclosed. We hope you will join us and enjoy this time you set aside for yourself at the base of this bridge on this mighty river with MRVC friends. Debra De Crane and Barbara Ford, Co-chairs Rock Island Arts and Entertainment District (The District) The District is an area of downtown Rock Island where you will find an eclectic assortment of dining, shopping and entertainment options near The Holiday Inn. Saturday Morning Class Flag Bracelet - This is not an original pattern of mine but one that I have been given permission by original designer Pam Donlan of PJ s Beads & Boutique. It is basic peyote with a simple extra step to allow the piece to appear as though it is waving. You will receive compliments on every time you wear it! Kit will include pattern, seed beads, clasp, beading thread, bead mat and extras. Each student should have time in this half day class to complete at least one flag and will learn how put on clasp and the final step to make these flags wave. Class size is 12 to15 students and should have working knowledge of peyote stitch. Kit Fee: $15.00 Skill Level: All Instructor: Barbara Ford 4 Market Night Friday night we are hosting a Market Night from 4-10 p.m. This is an opportunity to sell and/or purchase items for your guild or personal craft items. Each participant is responsible for collecting and paying sales tax to the State of Illinois. Each 8-foot table is $20. If your group needs only half a table, we will facilitate sharing a table with another group. These hours will make it possible for people to enjoy The District of Rock Island and still have a chance to add to your stash. QUESTIONS: Barbara Ford uradreamer@aol.com 563-940-0518 A-Tisket, A-Tasket Check out our Opportunity Baskets! Our themes are Spring & Easter, Patriotic, Summer, Autumn, Halloween, Winter, Christmas, Chocolate, Wine and a basket with items centered around the Quad Cities area. Take your time and enjoy looking through the items that may end up enhancing your stash. We re sure you ll find baskets that draw you and your raffle tickets in. Thank you for your support! 9
