1. FIXED FRAME APPLICATION Never expose the PRIVA-LITE to temperatures over 60 C Hot spots such as light spot, cooking table top may by consequence never be close to PRIVA-LITE panels. For external applications, PRIVA-LITE has to be assembled in DGU or TGU with low e glazing. It has to be assembled with solar control glazing in sunny countries or on South & West façades. 1.1 Frame characteristics PRIVA-LITE can be fixed in PVC, aluminium or timber frames. If the framing or the trimming are conductive (aluminium, lacquered or stainless steel, ), it is then necessary to ground it either on the earth of the building or on the earth terminals of the power supply unit. Make sure that allframing segments are interconnected. If not each segment must be independently connected to earth. Holes of 10mm of diameter have to be drilled in the frame to allow the female connectors of the glass cables to pass. The rebate height has to be min 18mm for PRIVA-LITE single glazing and min 20mm for PRIVA-LITE assembled in double glazing. When PRIVA-LITE is assembled in double glazing then please make sure that the frames are correctly drained and ventilated. Since PRIVA-LITE may not undergo a pressure of more than 10N/cm? make sure that the frame will be at least 4mm wider than the PRIVA-LITE panel. 2

FIXED FRAME APPLICATION 1.4 Installation in 5 steps Step 1 : Before fixing the PRIVA-LITE in its frame, make sure that the frame is clean and that a grommet has been fixed on each holes to prevent the damaging of the extension cable. Since PRIVA-LITE may not undergo a pressure of more than 10N/cm? make sure that the frame will be at least 4mm wider than the PRIVA-LITE panel. Step 2 : Pass the extension cables while making sure that the male connector of the cable is on the panel side Use only the extension cables delivered by Glassolutions Saint-Gobain between the power supply unit and the PRIVA-LITE panels. Step 3 : Connect the male connector of the extension cable to the female connector of the PRIVA-LITE panel. Make sure that connector is fully pushed in to get a good electrical insulation. 1. FIXED FRAME APPLICATION 1.4 Installation in 5 steps Step 4 : Place the PRIVA-LITE panel in its frame and wedge it with setting blocks. Only hard wood setting blocks may be used. Make sure that the thickness of the setting blocks is minimum 8mm to avoid crushing the EVA moulding, the connector and the cable. Step 5 : Sealing of the frame. Only the Multisil silicone delivered by Glassolutions Saint-Gobain and products approved by Saint-Gobain may come in to contact with the edges of the glass. Preformed sealing joints can be used unless they remain only in contact with the surface of the PRIVA-LITE. Step 5 : Sealing of the frame. In case of DGU, the outside sealing can be done with silicone DC993 and DC3362. But at the inner side, PRIVA-LITE s side, only the Multisil silicone delivered by Glassolutions Saint-Gobain can be used. 2. BUTT JOINT APPLICATION When PRIVA-LITE panels are used as a glass wall without any vertical profiles (butt jointed glasses) then only the Multisil silicone delivered by Glassolutions Saint-Gobain may be used for joints. Available colours: Translucent, black (RAL 9005), grey (RAL 7042), white and brown (RAL 8019). Prior to silicone application, preferably place masking tape on both sides to obtain a neat joint, especially when edge is sandblasted. Remove masking tape before full reticulation of the silicone. To achieve a smooth butt joint finish, only use soapy water spray (neutral washing up liquid + water). Only products approved by Saint-Gobain may come in to contact with the edge of the glass. No other product such as glue, adhesive, sealant, gasket, plastic strip primer and finisher liquid can be used in contact with the edge. A min of 4mm separation between the panels is recommended. In case of bow, place bow in same direction for side by side panel and use 2 wooden blocks with a screw to middle height of the glass to move closer together the adjacent panels. 9

It has to be assembled with solar control glazing in sunny countries or on South & West façades. 3.1 Swinging and pivoting door For door application, PRIVA-LITE panel is either fixed in a frame or in top and bottom profiles (swinging door). Frameless PRIVA-LITE doors are impossible. In both cases, extension cables delivered by Glassolutions Saint-Gobain will have to pass through a lead cover such as Assa Abloy EA280 or EA281 Door handle and lock have to be fixed on the frame. Rectangular notch for the handle and the lock can be cut in the glass (and LC film) on demand and under specific conditions. If the lock has to work as a switch (PRIVA-LITE switched OFF when the door is locked), then the use a specific relays, such as the RSB relay from Schneider, is recommended. Electrical diagram is available on demand. For toilet door, we recommend to use our High Privacy PRIVA-LITE version (higher hiding power). Since PRIVA-LITE panel could slightly bend, we recommend to frame twin doors. Door handle and lock have to be fixed on the frame. Rectangular notch for the handle and the lock can be cut in the glass (and LC film) on demand and under specific conditions. If the lock has to work as a switch (PRIVA-LITE switched OFF when the door is locked), then the use a specific relays, such as the RSB relay from Schneider, is recommended. Door handle and lock have to be fixed on the frame. Rectangular notch for the handle and the lock can be cut in the glass (and LC film) on demand and under specific conditions For sliding door application, a specific extension cable is needed. 4. BATHROOM APPLICATION Always refer to CEI 60364-7-701 and most of all to National Electric Code Zone 0 (shower tray) : no PRIVA-LITE. Zone 1 (<120cm from water source) : only embedded DGU PRIVA-LITE IPX7 (PRIVA-LITE on the opposite side of bathroom). Zone 2 (>120cm from water source) : single glazing PRIVA-LITE IPX7 possible only if it s fixed in a frame perfectly sealed In case of bath, single glazing PRIVA-LITE IPX7 is possible only if it is fixed aside and above the bath tub in a frame perfectly sealed. A continuous cable has to be used between the panel and the power supply unit fixed out of the zones 0, 1 and 2. 12
5. FLOOR AND CEILING APPLICATION As PRIVA-LITE may not undergo pressure higher than 10N/cm? it has by consequence to be fixed as a second skin of a LITE-FLOOR panels. See drawing hereunder. For external applications, the SGG LITE-FLOOR has to be laminated with a solar control glazing as external glass and the area between the SGG LITE-FLOOR and PRIVA-LITE has to be correctly ventilated to avoid any overheating of the PRIVA-LITE 13
